Dukes was great in most all ways except for one...i love the location, in the cozy nook east of Green Park...the staff were delightful, charming, and professional...the famous martini bar is lovely...etc...My only complaint, and it's a serious one, is the bed itself: the mattress was soft and cheap, the linens rough and starchy, and the headboard cheap […] and shabby...to be honest, i was somewhat shocked that a hotel that is so nice in every way would have beds that are at the flophouse level...i inquired about this twice while i was there: after checking in and on the way out, i mentioned it at the front desk and was told the manager would be informed, but no one got back to me...and i mentioned it while checking out, and was told the only remedy that they might have offered was a board for the bed if i found it soft...as my trip was a quick, solo two-night one to attend an art auction, i didn't mind so much...but had i been there w/ a girlfriend i would have embarassed to have chosen a hotel w/ such awful bedding...i'd love to stay here again, but i can't imagine doing so unless i was assured that the bedding has been upgraded significantly... while attending a conference in the area I selected The Dukes for location. I had no idea it would turn out to be such a warm, efficient, and lovely home away from home. After the first day the staff remembered the type of tea I preferred, reminded me to take an umbrella, and wecomed me graciously each afternoon when I returned "home" from the conference. […] Small thngs such as these make a business traveler feel cared for and comfortable. As a female traveler, location and safety are always in my mind; The Dukes offers an ideal location for walking to the heart of London. The concierge arranged for tickets to a sold out perfomance of Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House, including dinner at the Crush Room - an experience not to be missed. The other hotel staff were attentive and discreetly attended to every need, often before being asked to do so. I look forward to my next visit! Read more

I arrived in the UK with no hotel reservations for my three nights in London. I chose to stay at Dukes Hotel primarily for the location, right in the heart of Central London. The hotel is a two minute walk from the Green Park tube station and is a five minute walk through St. James Park to Buckingham Palace. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet, […] but we did find ourselves leaving the immediate neighborhood to find lively places to eat dinner. The hotel itself is a fantastic boutique hotel with an amazing bar and restaurant. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but it was the perfect size for two people. The room was clean and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a large soaker tub/shower. The room contained all amenities you could need, including bottles of water left with the evening turn down service. The staff were friendly and accomodating...they helped us find and book a day trip outside the city. The only downside to this hotel is the price. You have to be okay with spending a little extra for the location and the and quality of service this hotel provides. I will definitely consider staying at the Dukes Hotel again if I find myself in London in the future! Read more

Our tv did not work so they moved us to a room where the a/c did not work and only parts of the tv system worked. They threw a $3 bottle of wine at us to try and shut us up. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

The is the third or forth time I have stayed here over a couple of decades. The hotel has been relatively consistent. Rooms small, but nice. Could use refreshing, particularly wall hangings (mirrors), curtains and chairs. Linens, towels and pillows excellent. AC excellent. Bathroom ranges from good to very good. Toilet - poor. Towel heater - excellent. […] Bath supplies excellent but sporadic replenishment. Room cleanliness very good. Bed lighting - excellent. No deadbolt on room door - needs to be updated immediately to 2012 standards. Phone charges - high. Internet access - no charge, but a cumbersome access system. Television - outdated system. Room not available until 3 PM on day of arrival, even though early occupancy was requested, and published availability is earlier. Bar is legendary, but its quality and style have fallen off from past experiences. Bar staff - other than manager who is not always present - need training -- actions border on rude to the point of guests openly discussing how rude the staff is. The bar is know for tableside-made martinis, but the process has changed from the extraordinary to the ordinary and varies from waiter to waiter as well. Bloody Mary was sub par - previously excellent. The American Bar at the Stafford (around the corner) is head-and-shoulders above the Dukes Bar. Great location. Excellent concierge. Read more

Dukes is our favorite hotel in London. You can't beat the service and the location. You walk out the front door and are on Jermyn St. or Piccadilly in 5 minutes. The rooms are small but have everything one needs. Their queen bed is our full bed so make sure you ask for the right size. Of course they're known for their martini bar.which is classic. My stay at Dukes hotel was very good, particularly afternoon tea in the drawing room. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was the quality of the breakfast. Juice glasses were more like thick vases. チェックイン時のレセプションの対応は比較的フレンドリーだったが、外出する時や戻った時などの挨拶がない。ホスピタリティマインドがあるのか疑問。ここのホテルには3度目の宿泊だったが、リピーターに対する特別な配慮のようなものはない。これが日本のホテルだったら色々な配慮がなされるはず。静かで部屋の居心地は悪くないが、満足感がない。また、日本のホテルに比べて部屋代が高すぎる。シャワーが使いにくい。今後はこのホテルを使わない。

フロントの方も親切ですし、部屋もきれいでいう事なしです。 あえて言えば、シャワーが強くて（ロンドンにしては珍しい？）洗面所の床がびしょ濡れになるくらいです。 場所は静かですが、ちょっと微妙な感じかもしれません。近くに水や軽食を買えるところがなく、地下鉄の駅から帰るときに計画的に買いに行かなくてはなりません。 まあ、許容範囲だと思います。 狭い狭いと聞いていましたが、個人的には十分です。 気持ちよく滞在できました。

bel hôtel, très bien situé en plein coeur de piccadilly, seulement la chambre standard est une peu petite pour un 5*. We really enjoy our stay in dukes hotel. People are very welcoming and nice. The cocktail bar is awesome (a bit expensive but its worth it). The hotel has an "english touch" which iwe appreciate (far from the typical big hotel chains) The restaurant is very good for lunch and not that expensive with regards to the hotel luxury. Only 2 critisisms : […] the TV system is horrible to use (GUI is so slow and the tuner is always freezing), the english breakfast is good value but too hearty for a normal person they sould have warned us when we ordered it (plus the vienoiserie were not that good). Globally speaking, very were enthousiastic at the end of our stay, There is no way we go elsewhere if one day we come back to London. Read more

Our stay in London was a big hit thanks to the choice of Dukes Hotel. The hotel is situated in a quite courtyard in St James very close to Green Park and everything.. We arrived to the hotel in taxi and as soon as we stopped, our luggage was quickly transported from the car into the lobby without us even noticing it. After the check-in we were offered […] a quick tour of the hotel and shown where we would find the restaurant, bar spa & gym etc. We had booked a Luxury room for 3 nights and were not disappointed in any way. The room was approximately 20 square metres with a spacious bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept like babies. Thanks to the actual location we could sleep with an open window, witch was completely impossible when we visited New York a couple of months ago. Every evening the staff prepared our room for the night. Fresh towels if we needed that, new mineral water, arranging our slippers by the bed, picking up and folding our clothes that we had spread around the room. My partner had given me treatments as a birthday present, and these took place in the Spa witch is located at the lower ground floor. A very nice and cute girl did my hands and feet. The small and cosy restaurant was an oasis of calm and tranquillity where we were spoiled and pampered. We chose to have dinner at the hotel the last evening and the food was good and well prepared and served by a smiling and charming staff. To sum up all our impressions the Duke Hotel has earned every one of its five stars. Everyone was so polite and courteous, and always with a smile. Service with world class I would say.
