It was being renovated so when our tv didn't work we were moved.Phone not hooked up but the room was clean and it was close to the theater.Not told of free breakfast until we were leaving when we went out for breakfast.You get what you pay for.

Some of what others have posted is still correct; breakfast isn't much to speak of and getting in and out of the parking lot is one direction only. Right on Route 30 so you'll hear traffic in the morning if you're a light sleeper. The place is pretty clean. I saw all the reviews and wanted to find out on my own. Truly I don't regret my stay at all. I checked in early from my work. The girl at the front desk greeted me nicely. She asked me if I want to see the room before I check in. I inspected the room and find the room absolutely perfect for the price I paid. I did not expect […] big hotel like Sheraton or Holiday Inn. I totally understand that it is economy brand of the Choice Hotels Group. Moreover the entire staff was helpful. Needed some extra towels and soap. It was brought in few minutes by the housekeeping staff. There was no issues with the cleaning and maintenance. Only I could say that this property is the conversion of the old motel and breakfast was not very attractive. Surprisingly the bathrooms looks very clean and tubs are parts of the recent renovations. Late in the evening the place got very crowded with many people checked in and all seems to be very happy guests. I went into the office for the ice where they got me some ice from the ice back there and did my laundry in the laundry room in the second floor. The vending room and the guest laundry charged two dollars per load which i didn't like about paying high price for a small load. The place looked very nice in the evening as it has some bright colors on it. The European taste of colors with beautiful mosaic in the lobby. The bottom line: I was very happy and I will definitely stay here again. I would recommend this place to all. Read more

I choose this hotel based on price and proximity to my destination. I knew my son and I wouldn't be in the hotel long. But even in the short stay I was put off by the hotel staff, the room, and the false advertisement. There was no promised HBO and couldn't connect to the wifi. The TV kept cutting out but that didn't matter since the remote could only […] change channels. The free breakfast was just some bread and orange juice but you had to go to the basement for it. We stayed here because the hotel locator said it was 1.4 miles from the turnpike. It actually wound up being an 11-mile drive the way we were coming, and a 7-mile drive back to the next exit. The area itself wasn't bad, with a large mall, plenty of stores and restaurants, and many other hotels. This one advertised "new rooms" on the marquee, which I […] presume was in reference to the paint, The whole hotel was freshly painted and looked ok from a distance. However, the place was in a state of complete disrepair. The rooms were small, with old dirty carpeting, and our fridge was broken, so you had to force the door shut. The bathroom was passable, although several of the towels had disturbing permanent stains on them. The wool comforters were missing from the beds, which did not really bother me, but i'm told is against regulation. Also, there was a lot of traffic noise during the night due to the proximity to the highway. Finally, there was the continental breakfast. It was located in a basement in the back of the hotel and consisted of coffee, tea, milk, and orange juice containing what I can only pray was a lot of extra pulp. The food choices were corn flakes, fruit loops, and bread. That's it. No butter, no jelly. White bread. Although, there was a toaster, so I would guess that one could add dry toast to the menu as well. In conclusion, a poorly maintained hotel that is subpar in every basic category. Read more

There was a huge blood stain on one of the bed pillows, the comforter was full of all kinds of stains, mold in the bathroom, the toilet didn't really flush, the chair was dirty and you had to stand on the chair to reach the window air conditioner. Terrible - I travel frequently and have to say, AVOID this property. I was met at the desk by a mother and her baby, who was sitting on the counter, and there was real no customer service demonstrated. I had to ask about the location of the complimentary breakfast - which turned out to be NO breakfast due to "plumbing problems." The room was very plain […] with no closet rod to hang any clothing. There was no trash basket in the bathroom. The room was very warm and required about an hour to cool off once the marginal A/C unit caught up. The whole property looks run down and is a little on the seedy side...it appears that there might be some full time residents just hanging out in the parking lot. The management at the front desk is RUDE and arrogant. At check in, we were told that breakfast is available 6am-9:30am. Turned out the LAST refill is done by 8am and good luck having anything by 8:45am. After much complaining, at 9am we were told that opening up a new jug of milk and a bag of bread (which they had in the fridge) was not their policy. […] Not to mention the run around before hand between the front desk manager saying that the staff has been notified to do the refill and NOTHING was done. On another note, when we checked in, the air conditioning was not on in the room. Being summer time it was hot. When the AC was turned on, it was blowing strong and it is VERY LOUD unit right next to the bed. There are two options, very strong or fan, which fan really doesn't do much to cool down a room. Needles to say, we woke up not rested and the breakfast was culmination of the experience. I thought that I had experienced surly service but the vacant rudeness of the desk clerk from checkin to checkout at this motel was truly exceptional. Don't depend on the continental breakfast to start your day. It was Fruit Loops and stale slices of white and brown bread, and coffee, served in a basement room that was as depressing as the service.

The staff was courteous and friendly but there were several problems with the maintenance of the hotel. Cigarette Burns on linens and bedspread which were not changed. Weather stripping missing from door causing vast differences (15 degrees) in the temp from one side of the room to the other. Windows,were new, but flimsy enough to jar open. The desk service was ok but not particularly friendly. The building is a 50's do-wop sort of a thing that has its own funky charm. I must say that it was clean, newly painted and updated and was a good value. Kudos to the management for the state and condition of the facility inside and out.

When showed up to hotel and they asked for a credit card even though the hotel room was already paid for in full thru hotels.com by the company. Even though the bed was made the bed sheets not changed because we found hair on the pillows and on the sheets, mattress pad was stained. We had to ask for clean sheets and made the bed ourselves. I travel a lot, and I am not picky when it comes to simply having a place to rest. I pay a small amount for hotels because I don't NEED jacuzzis, minibars, or a 5-star meal every night. That's why I chose Rodeway. However, I DO expect basic necessities and at least a friendly concierge. Hotel is in need of some SERIOUS upgrades and conveniences. Ceiling was actually rusty, the 'exhaust fan' in the bathroom was an open vent used in professional kitchens, the bathroom door was damaged, er, SPLIT in half, the shower curtain was too long (tripping over it) and sliced, felt like I was in a warehouse storage room with too much furniture […] (couldn't even move around the room!) and extra tables, the window was high and held a window air conditioner - too bad we couldn't see the controls!! It also sucked in the smoke from people smoking outside and blew it through the room. Large burn marks in rug and blankets, pillows were so thin, they were FLAT, sink drain never stayed closed. "Breakfast" was a joke. Had to argue with the desk person that there wasn't any coffee out (had a Keureg with individual coffee cups only). One box was handed to me for me to put out - a "German Chocolate Cake" flavor - not even plain coffee. Front desk attendants were not professional AT ALL - they all looked very dirty and sloppy - made us feel like we were being scammed and wondering what other dangers lie within the room. The room was filthy!! Hair in the shower, mild on the shower curtains. TV didn't work either did the alarm clock. Had to purchase new sheets & comforters to sleep @ night. Overall disgusting!! Only stayed because everything else was booked. Thank goodness it was only 1 night.
