This complaint may still be sent to the hotel management for incorrectly charging me for a coffee cup breakage as that of a whiskey glass. At check-out, I told the desk clerk what my my wife had accidentally dropped on the floor was a coffee cup, not a whiskey glass, to no avail.

The negatives: The bed was too soft and pillows did not provide enough support. Also, the room was too hot. We had to turn on the AC (on a winter day). The positives: excellent location (about a 10 minute walk to the People's Square subway station), superb customer service, good food, very modern room. In summary, we would come back!

Overall, it was very good. Our one complaint is that we booked a room with a double bed, while our friends booked a room with two single beds, and both rooms were the same price. Exterior and lobby are what you would expect for the price you pay - i.e. standard, nothing too glamorous. Rooms are very very nice for the price. We stayed in a double deluxe, clean, new, rather spacious. For the price we pay, very good value for money. Very good price for my 7 night stay, comfortable smallish room with fantastic views. Breakfast extra and uninspiring. Staff very helpful and most spoke english well. Hotel well positioned about 10 minutes across busy road to nearest metro station and 2 km to Peoples Park and the Bund. "Simple Hotel, if you are looking for something affordable to stay in Shanghai"
The hotel was good. The pool was impossible to find since it was in another building (there are 8 buildings to the hotel complex) and no one spoke english well enough to give good directions. I had a suite, the room was clean, but the decor was looking a bit dated, and the kitchen looked very old. Plus because there were not plates or any utensils, […] it was useless. When people travel they don't bring plates, those should be provided. I was given a smoking room and I am a non-smoker, and I couldn't communicate with them that I wanted a difference room. If are a non-smoker and you book, make sure you request in very big letters that you want a non-smoking room. The area has a some restaurants, and is short walk to the subway station. Very unpleasant hotel. The hotel was a total rip off and way overpriced (due to the Expo). While the room was made up each day, the surfaces weren't cleaned down, or the glasses washed. The breakfast was dreadful - I coudn't eat anything - it looked revolting. The coffee was muck. And the carpet was FILTHY. Unbelievable. Lots of bored staff standing […] around, but none seemed to think about hovering the carpet. After the first breakfast experience there, we went across the road to Tesco for breakfast thereafter. They also had no business department in the hotel so nowhere to check emails. We stayed in the side building - the 2 lifts were grossly insufficient for the number of roms served. Vi hade ett stort rum med balkong på 23 våningen, handdukarna byttes dagligen och det var nära till metron på Dapuqiao. Vi hade ingen frukost men det fanns vattenkokare i rummet så vi kunde fixa kaffe och te. På en tvärgata mittemot hotellet lagades frukost som kostade bara några yuan. Taikang Lu och Tianzifang med små butiker och mysiga caféer låg […] i närheten. Hotellet låg bra till, det var lätt att ta sig runt med metron. アパートメントホテルなので、所謂ホテル的な落ち着きはあまりありませんが、打浦橋駅の直ぐ前で、立地はとても良いです。ホテルの朝食は地下で78元のブュッフェ、1Fの30元のコーヒー&ブレッドとありますが、僕はホテル前のビザハットで30元で、コーヒー(お替り可能)&ブレッド、玉子料理で済ませました。1Fのカフェで、携帯に認証パスワードを返送させる承認で無線LANが無料で使えました。僕は、年4-5回程上海に行くので、毎回贅沢なホテルは泊まれません。そんな中でこのホテルはとても良い存在です。Genuine Hotels.com guest review
