"Hot!!! Not for mature adults."
Don't stay at this hotel at summer time!!! We were traveling at September 13, weather is not cool down yet. From the online photos, this hotel is meet what we were looking for, meet standard requirement and clean. However, after we arrived, we were so disappointing. 1. they don't have self park, MUST do valet parking, $15 per stay and you have to wait […] for more than 15 minutes for staff go far away to pick up your car. 2. there are NO air conditioning in the entire hotel unless the front desk area. "not even a room has AC here" that's what staff told me when we check out. The room we had is really small, it's okay because we were planning to stay one night, the problem is they are dorm type hotel, share bathroom, if you need privacy, have to paid for upgrade. Because they do not have AC, we have turn on ceiling fan and open window to get fresh 'cool' air. There are more than twice that the firetruck were passing by, just under our window, really really loud and we couldn't close window. I know in NYC there are more firetrucks are passing in a day, but we still can volume it down by closing window, in this hotel, I don't think you want to close your window. 3. It really a school dorm, no basic hotel amenities there. Finally, we just look for another hotel and check-out, did not spend a night there. It just waste my money and my time. "Maybe? Stay on Main"
Pros: Descent location, valet is very nice and fast, staff is courteous, the lobby and rooms are very clean. They observe the "do not disturb" tag on the door. My private bathroom was very clean. Cons: My room had no chairs for sitting at my desk, no chest or dresser for clothes so I lived out of a suitcase, no air conditioner and my room temp would […] exceed 90 degrees so I never slept under the bed sheets. I was sweating so much at night that I soaked through the comforter and the bed sheets. The pillows were also soaked with sweat and I woke up every day dehydrated. The ceiling fan was of little help. I'm wondering if they wash the pillows after me or just put on new pillow cases. My private bathroom had no warm water, however, it was summer so that didn't bother me to much. I stayed in room 1408. "Think Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny"
Had a very important shareholder meeting the following morning in LA. I resorted to sleeping on the floor naked to keep cool enough to sleep for a few minutes at a time. My window was open trying to get some air flow. Every half hour or so car alarms, screams, fire trucks, ambulances and more car alarms would continue to roar though the night. No alarm […] clock in the room and my wake up call never came. After a quick shower and putting my suit on I was completely drenched in sweat, ready for the meeting. If I was a young twenty something staying in LA I would seriously consider staying here with some buddies. However, I wouldn't stay here again unless the only activities I had in store were binge drinking and chasing starlets. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

i was traveling past 15 year almost very weekend this the worst hotel what i got. (1)reservetion women are so rude and unfriend. (2) no air-condition hotel lobby area and gust room only fan. (3) no birth room in your room have to share one rest room and a shower room for whole floor. (4) when you open your room small like crazy even you don't like to […] enter your room. "Looks are deceiving"
The lobby was really nice looking. Once we checked in and got out of the elevator on our floor we see signs for bathrooms and showers. We were a little confused why they'd have bathrooms and showers in separate areas other than in our room. We get into our kitchen sized room and are stunned. Sheets weren't that clean with stains on them. Our tv had […] no picture, the phone in our room didn't dial out or connect to concierge and to top it off our shower was IN our bathroom. Only thing dividing our shower head and toilet was a ripped shower curtain. Oh and the room was really hot. No AC but they did provide a small tower fan that barely worked. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best bang for your buck"
Nice little place to stay if you're planning on sightseeing or doing other stuff. I do not recommend it to people that wish to stay in there room for a long time. My friends and I just used it as somewhere to sleep, get ready, and have breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't let the pix fool you!"
The worst. My wallet was in my checked bag(arriving the next day) so I had a pocket full of cash. I made sure to pick a hotel that allowed cash. Hotel.com said I could use a card to reserve but pay with cash when ready. When I showed up, not only did cash not matter to them, there was no parking! I had to park 2 blocks away and lug all my gear. Then […] after getting a stranger to help me out, I get the room and there's no shower or toilet in the room. The tv didn't even work! What kind of room doesn't have a shower? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Okay well- make sure you have cash, change, and you're willing to pay for parking. Also--no bathrooms in the room. Just sinks. Front desk took FOREVER. For the person who just wants to get in, take a shower, get dressed, and get out, and come back to sleep... don't plan on it... because there's no shower in your room! You will see a lot of backpackers […] who rent a room with a bunch of beds just for a place to sleep at night. I'm not planning on going back, I'd rather just go to the closest Super 8 or Motel 6. "A place more to sleep than stay in all day."
My boyfriend and I went here just to get away for a few days and it was nice. This hotel is located in the heart of Downtown LA. The lobby was beautiful and it made me a little excited knowing the rooms will probably be better. As we got to our room the excitement went away. The room was disappointing and misleading from the pictures online. The room […] had no table and felt a little too small, and so was the bathroom. We decided to upgrade to have our own bathroom which was the best decision because our room was away from dorm style bathroom and showers. The noise from the street sucked but we were both used to it since we're both from the city. There was no A/C so it got a little warm but not a big deal. We loved how there was a Ping pong table, and a lounge room and computers too! It's sucked that the cafe wasn't open though. The complementary breakfast was good. They also had a kitchen on the 5th floor that had a fridge to put food in that you brought but, I suggest just bringing a cooler because the fridge was packed with food that looked old and spelt nasty. The staff was very helpful and always had a good attitude even at 3 in the morning haha. If you wanna learn about the history of that building talk to the valet guy that works the night shift aha very nice man! Overall, besides the negative, it was a nice get away! "Fun location, uncomfortable room"
The hotel was cool, they had a communal TV area and ping pong available. The location was great, walking distance to some cool bars, but the location also did not feel very safe to walk in. The hotel room was functional but there is no AC or air circulation through their windows. There was a fan, but it was very loud and we had to turn it off to sleep-- […] BAD IDEA! Woke up drenched in sweat. The bed was not very comfortable and creaked easily. The continental breakfast in the morning was a bit of a let down because of the fake OJ (the powdered kind), but otherwise was ok. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Rooms look nothing like the picture."
Rooms are tiny, had to take the stairs every time elevator was small & always full (stayed on the 7th floor). Worse place I have ever stayed.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was straight up horrible. The rod were archaic, there was only one elevator in service which EVeRYONE had to wait for, no AC, worn down rooms, common bathrooms which smelled when you walked past them.bad experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Outside hotel looks very nice. Once you enter the elevators it's just a complete nightmare, elevator stops on every floor with a wait time of about 15 min justs to get on. Room had no shower or toilet. Room had no air cond. and was disgusting! I would never stay here again even of they paid me! Worst hotel I've ever been to. Better off going to a motel […] 6! "Don't do it!"
No A/C, no in room shower or bathroom, no cable, no service mentality, wifi is so slow it doesn't work, the elevator is so slow I walked the 6 floors and beat it by 3 minutes and the security latch on the door had been broken off. "Only if you must"
For the price it was still surprisingly more like a hostel than a hotel. No A/C, shared bathrooms & showers, rooms smelled like moth balls, 1 working elevator, endless line to check in, slow internet. But cheap.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"cleanliness and hotel amenities"
the room was 8x8 feet, with two twin beds and no leg room to put luggage, dirty and hot. No aircondition, no fan or window open for air. the picture on the internet was larger with a chair and a couch to sit on. This had no table, no chair, no phone, nothing but two twins cramed into it right next to the wall. When we asked for another room, we were […] told NO and that all the rooms were that way. So we DID NOT STAY THERE. IT WAS NOISY TOO with Loud music in the halls. The desk girl/clerk was rude. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shared bathroom and toilet - not a good idea"
I've stayed at this hotel twice - the first time I had an ensuite toilet and shower, which was fine. The second time I went with the "shared bathroom", because the ensuite option wasn't available. This turned out to be a less than pleasant experience. There are a few shared toilets and bathrooms on each floor, but you need to have the access card (the […] same one for your room) to get in. It's quite conceivable that it's something that can be easily forgotten. Both the shared bathroom and toilet are extremely small and poorly ventilated. The worst of all was that there was no hand wash basin in the toilet which is very hygienic. There is however a hand wash basin in the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We found out there was an additional fee for having a room with a restroom. We got to the room and realized there was no air conditioning besides a ceiling fan and window. The room we stayed in looked nothing like the pictures. However, it was very clean and if we needed anything the people who worked there went out of their way to help us anyway they could. I would definitely stay here. I even parked my car for the weekend for only $15 and was able to walk to the metrolink to get places outside of LA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"DO NOT STAY!"
Pictures are NOT AT ALL what rooms are actually like. When you first walk in reception area is great....well they should make the rooms same way! As we exit elevator all I could think was "are you kidding me"! Someone needs to update website and explain what "shared restroom" really means! Restroom and shower are in hallways for everyone on floor to […] share! Rooms are wayyy runned down. Only thing in room is a mirror and sink....right next to bed. Hotel is way over priced plus no parking. Need to pay for valet which is an extra 15 dollars. Only plus about hotel is guy at Valet was really nice. We walked in around midnight and security person was REALLY REALLY RUDE!! I ended up driving home instead of sleeping there. Talk about a waste. Never again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent for a one night stay"
I found this to be the only place with great rates on a Friday night. I didn't need amenities, I just needed to get away from my roommates, so it seemed like a great deal. The outside and the lobby look pretty great for the price and I knew I had secured an AMAZING deal. The valet guys are nice but take FOREVER because their lot is a block away in the […] direction opposite from the flow of traffic. That means, they must take your car on DTLA's one way, traffic-filled streets all the way around to get to a 4 story parking garage and park it at the very top, run down the steep steps and run back across the two streets and down the block to get back to serve the next customer. At 7 PM, I attempted to check in and was greeted with a check-in line almost out of the door. While on line, I had no cell phone service ! AHHHHH! But the gentlemen at the desk moved the line in 20 minutes. When I got to the desk the gentleman explained that I would be sharing the bathroom with other residents on my floor! Ew! I had the option to upgrade to a room w/ a bathroom for a fee. Just as you exited the elevator, there were all of the bathrooms right there, doors open, and an incinerator. It looked so weird. I stayed in the smallest room, I have EVER paid to stay in. But it was clean with a really tiny bathroom. I, personally, would not return to stay at this place. But for anyone coming to stay in the DTLA area needing great rates and not minding a "dorm-style" hotel, this would be a place for them. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was my first time in both dtla and a hostel. I'm glad to say I would come back to stay on main again! The staff was friendly, waffles in the morning were delicious, and my room was adorable and clean! Same with shared bathrooms and shower rooms. "Old World Hotel"
The lobby of this hotel is beautiful, and was the selling point when I booked the room. However, this charm does not carry through the rest of the hotel. When I got to my room it was stuffy and dusty, with a strange smell. The TV in my room had a non-working remote, and could only pick up 4 channels, and the wood on the bathroom door was falling apart, […] as was the paint on the walls. Not a bad option if you're a backpacker who's just passing through, but not worth it for a couple of days or if you are paying for one of the more expensive rooms.
