Ok, I really didn't know what to expect when we arrived. I had read good reviews and bad. We were happy. It is spacious and comfortable. Good amount of hot water day or night. I had read there was no hot water at night...not true. No 20min showers but enough. Kitchen in adequetly equipt and has everything you'll need to make simple meals. They say there is a washer and dryer, however the dryer is a loose term. We went on 3 dry cycles and the clothes were still wet. and there is really no where to dry them. They also didn't have any laundry soap to purchase so I had to go buy some, but you can only buy the ones to do several loads not just 2 or 3. Left the rest there for the next few people. You can hear everything. If someone above you moves a chair, it sounds like it's in the room. And Saturday there were a lot of partiers all night, so we got no sleep. It was nothing spectacular. It served our purpose but there were many things that could have been better. It's hard to get a sound night of sleep because the street noise is really loud. Depending on who your neighbors are, you could be dealing with more annoying noise(The walls are really thin). There was bad smell coming from under the sink and the […] dishwasher in the kitchen. The plumbing in general is dodgy. They must shut off the hot water after 6pm so you must do this special "boost" thing in order to take a hot shower at night. You need to wait 15 min in between flushing the toilet or it doesn't work. The front desk forgot to give us a wake up call one day and we almost missed our tour. The beds were really comfy but the pillows were flat and stiff. There's a door and every room (including the living room and kitchen) so you have prop them open with something heavy if you want them to stay open. We arrived last night with my family hoping to have a "home away from home". So the first thing: the room was filthy. The floors were sticky and had unswept hair in the bathroom and the kitchen. Beyond disgusting. Carpets in the bedrooms have not seen a vacuum cleaner since the place was built: bordering on health hazard. Bed sheets, while washed, had […] stains and rips. The clencher though is the water heater: it gives you enough hot water for 2 5-second showers. The apartment is a maze of corridors, lifts and stairs so navigating - very tough. Our first night - there was a party outside at 4am and we were woken up by alcohol induced screams and songs. The only saving grace of this hotel is the washing machine. BTW - when they say dryer - they meant a drying rack to hang your clothes on. We used the heaters and our clothes were done in 2 hours - especially since with the luggage being lost we had to do a quick wash. The rooms were large with separate bedrooms and kitchen. The apartment had a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The staff would totally helpful. The site is relatively well situated to a number of sites, but a long walk to downtown. Near bus service, however. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy though - but OK.

The apartment was very clean and security excellent. The only way into the complex was through the office and that door was always locked and the clerk had to buzz you in. There is a security code to get into the buildings and that is changed weekly. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.

The Augustine Apartments were very nice and within close proximity to everything you would want to do on your stay in Dublin. A 10 minute walk to Trinity College & Temple Bar Area. The aparments were extremely clean and updated. We arrived in Dublin around 5:30 am and got to Augustine around 6:00 am. Check in is not until 2:00 pm but the young man at […] the check in desk let us check in early (at no extra cost) so that was a huge plus considering it was so early in the morning. Any time we needed help or needed a question answered the staff were very willing to accomodate us. We were in Block E of the apartment complex which was at the end and still not a far walk even with luggage. It felt very secure and well kept. I was a little worried and apprehensive after booking and reading other reviews but it honestly was perfect for our stay. I would definitely stay here when we visit again and actually recomended it to people we know visiting in July. The hot water heater worked if you knew how to work it correctly. There was only 2 of us and we could both take hot showers/baths. If you turn the water heater on before bed and then in the morning you will have plenty of hot water (so no worries there). The linens were clean and so were the bedrooms. Since we stayed for more than a week we had the maid service that is included with a 7+ day stay. They came in and cleaned halfway through our stay and we had cash and a laptop in the room and nothing had been touched. Read more

We stayed two nights we'd and sat. First night was fine . Old rooms with dirty carpets. Tv remote did not work and no soap at all. Large rooms but doors did not stay open. Second night was awful. The St. Augustine was a decent hotel at a decent price if you don't look too closely. Lockers are provided to store your luggage if you arrive before check in. The receptionists were helpful with tourist information but not as successful with solving problems with our room. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable also we did not have an issue […] with the hot water like some others. Our room had a balcony but we were never able to use it. The housekeeper came to unlock the door to the balcony for us but didn't have the key as the locks were changed. She said she would come back with the key but we needed to sleep and it took over an hour for her to come to the room the first time. I told her that we would get it opened the following day. After repeated requests a housekeeper never came back with a key. When we tried to use the oven it started to smoke and set the fire alarm off. It turned out the oven was not cleaned before we checked in. When I went to reception they said the housekeepers had left and they didn't know what cleaners to use so I had to wait to get the oven cleaned. I was given sponges to clean the oven myself upon request and told that a note would be left for the housekeeper to come the following morning to properly clean it. No one came to clean the oven during our stay. There were dirty hand prints on the walls, splashes of dirty liquid on the wall by the dishwasher and splashes of something on the ceiling in the living room. we began to wonder what exactly gets cleaned by the housekeepers. With all that said I would recommend this hotel to others because of the price and the proximity to the tourist sights. I would however warn of the questionable cleanliness of the room. Read more

This hotel really met our needs quite well. This was our first trip to Dublin and we brought our two youngest children, ages 8 and 11. We had a lovely kitchen to cook from, which lowered our expenses. Plus, our kids were able to try a host of foods that they'd never had before. There was never any noise from other rooms and we likes that we were away from a crowdedm, noisy street. The only downside (and I know this would be a deal breaker for most Americans), the hot water heater ran on a timer, so there was not always hot water. There was a 'boost' button that you could run and supposedly get enough hot water for a shower, but this allowed about 45 seconds of hot water. I am not kidding. I washed my eight year old in the tub with water I heated on the stove and in the hot kettle. We managed though, and even laughed a bit (just a bit!) at the situation. Overall, this hotel met our needs for the beginning of our European vacation. It provided us a place to cook and be warm, and to watch the telly. If you can live without a long, hot shower at any given time, then this would be a good place to stay in Dublin. Read more

We had a family of four with two adults and two children (5 and 7). We stayed two nights in a two bedroom apartment. We took the Airlink No. 748 bus from the airport. Bargain price and easy to use. The driver was very friendly and helpful. It was a very short (2-3 block) and easy walk from the stop to the hotel. We stored our bags and then paid a little […] extra to check-in early. They even personally walked us to our room, using a short-cut through the parking garage so that it was be easier to get to the room with our roller bags. We had no problem navigating the hotel grounds. Its well-marked and the signage was clear. Yes, we went in and out of several doors, but there was no problem, and everything was safe and secure. Check-in was no problem. The room was great. Lots of room. In addition to the two bedrooms, we had a living room, kitchen, bath, and balcony. It was very comfortable. We had no problems with the plumbing. We had read a lot about the plumbing. We had plenty of hot water for showers. The toilet does take 2-4 flushes to fully remove waste, but it eventually works. The neighborhood is great and is a convenient walk to everything. We walked to the Guinness Brewery, Trinity College, Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, the train station for a short day-trip to Malahide, and number of other sites. This location is super convenient. All of the sites, pubs, and restaurants are a close walk. We really enjoyed our stay, especially at the bargain price. Read more

On booking St. Augustine apts Dublin had not expected much! However to my surprise, the two bedroom was comfortable spacious and very well equipped for our family stay 2adults 3 children 15,7,6yrs Previous reviews had stated a limited supply of hot water...for fuel efficiency a half tank is initially heated however there is a Booster button for two […] hours which allowed all to bathe or shower were needed. On leaving/ checking out I did mention to Susan about the kettle having a slightly cracked lid...I was thanked for letting her know and the kettle was noted. Everyone was pleasant and helpful with directions and knowledge were possible. For those who are staying more than a weekend...the apts now facilitate Tesco Direct for grocery shopping delivered to your door! (as the local convenient stores can be a little pricey!! Enjoyed our stay, was impressed by secure underground parking and the secure building of accommadation. Will definitely be back...would be ideal for girlie shopping weekend pre xmas!!!! Read more
