Needs renovation! Harrahs took over the Grand Casino hotel. First let me say that during the week the rates are extremely low so expectations may not be to high but I have stayed at other MS Casino hotels and this is near or at the bottom. I actually stayed in a Parlor Suite that was large. Had 2 defined areas. But honestly although large the amenities […] were basic. Also the rooms are very very dated and in need of renovation. The wood furniture shows wear and chipping. Sofa and chairs cheap and uncomfortable. The bed was the highlight and was quite comfortable which is important. First they charge for WiFi which is always a pet peeve for me but if you are going to charge, it better work. The wifi signal was non existent. Never better then 1-2 bars and dropped me several times. I had to just use my iPad with LTE, which was 10x faster. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE! The TVs are embarrassing. Old plasmas that were about 27-32 inch but look larger because of massive frame around the screen which gives away their age. They could honestly go to Sams Club and get far superior TVs for $200-300 each. Something you should do in a Parlor Suite at least. Also rooms have maybe 20 stations and the signal was poor with static on most channels. I have gotten double that amount of channels (HD) at a Day Inn. As I said, embarrassing!! This hotel was an excellent decision. I contemplated staying in Biloxi for the night or continuing our spontaneous road trip onward. After staying here, I am so glad we chose to stay. The staff were absolutely some of the best I've ever stayed with. Our front desk help, Patty, treated us like family. The sports bar downstairs was excellent. It was a […] great atmosphere for game day. My only connotation was the uniforms of the bar service wait staff in the sports bar. They were hard to look at. Usually, people complain saying they are too 'risky', this however, is not my comment. The uniforms were terribly fashioned and not flattering in any way regardless of build. I am not one to say all servers should be in a certain shape. However, I do think the management could do better to dress staff adequately with class. requested an ocean/bay view if possible. did not receive - was told at check-in that ocean/bay view was not available but we would have view of golf course. Made reservations 2-3 months in advance. Went to check in at 4pm no room available. Had to wait 2hrs for a room. The room had a terrible view and I had requested a beach view. We were disappointed that we did not get the type of room we reserved. We had a King room reserved, but when we arrived, the hotel told us they don't reserve specific type rooms. Therefore we were put in a room with queen beds instead of a room with a king bed. It is also disappointing that you have to pay extra for a refrigerator or microwave. I went to my room and turned on the TV. The selection of channels was terrible. The 2 best choices were the Weather Channel and Cartoon Network--I am 63 years old. Next, I looked for the refrigerator and there wasn't one. Next, I tried to log on to the internet and then I learned that they charge $12.50 per day. This is the only hotel that I have stayed […] in that charges for internet. The room was about $100 a day and it seems as if that would be enough to pay for internet service. I called the front desk and told them that I would check out the next day and to cancel my reservations. I have stayed in hotels in America and overseas that cost half as much and have many channels on TV, refrigerators and free internet. I will never stay at Harrah's in Biloxi, Ms. again. I arrived 30 minutes before check in time. I asked to check in early and was told I would have to pay $25.00 to check in 30 minutes early. I chose to come back in 30 minutes. Once I got to my room I noticed several stains on the carpet. The bed was comfortable but that was about it. The shower had at least 6 leftover p**ic hairs in it from the previous […] guest. After I washed down the p**ic hairs, I took a shower. After a short night of gambling (FYI- They don't have a poker room) I went to bed. During the night the A/C unit in my room stopped working. I called the front desk to report it and was told all he could do was transfer me to a smoking room. He also told me a had to pack up and leave this room. It was 3:30 am and I had to be up in a few hours for a flight. I explained my situation and he was less than accommodating. I would not stay at this hotel again. I had reserved a king size non-smoking room. When I arrived for check in, I was advised that all king sized non-smoking rooms were "dirty" and it would be several more hours before mine room would be ready. Might I add I was an hour late to check-in. I was offered a room with two queen sized beds which I accepted due to not wanting to wait any longer.
