The best food and salt water retreat in DR!!
Um, total healing nirvana. My retreat started with a private walk around the grounds yoga pavilion, spa, cabanas with open air porches and hammocks, gardens, tree life, pool, and restaurants, looking out onto a perfect private beach with zero drunk party people sloshing around in their board shorts. Amazing. But...the food. As a competitive athlete with Crohns Disease, I usually anticipate living off some vegan protein bars from home. One talk with Chef Nico, a powerhouse chef whose knowledge of world cuisines and specialty diets blew my mind, and it was clear: omnivore, locavore, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, liquid, high protein, paleo, WHATEVER your dietary needs are, Natura Cabana is the place in the DR to stay if you want healthy food that tastes like 5-star vacation luxury. To be able to go from my personal porch hammock to the restaurant to the beach in about 75 yards and pick up a mojito made with mint grown about 20ft away and a vegan ceviche that I'm still ready to marry, then body surf without getting hit on by drunk New Yorkers or trip over masses of kids, was everything I ever wanted in a trip to the Carribean for under $500. You will be dodging sweet almonds and ripe fruit as the fall from the trees, people, I kid you not.

Serendipity
Everything about Natura Cabana was perfect. My teenage daughter and I were on a 12 day adventure to Dominican Republic staying at an All Inclusive resort which was very nice but needed to escape for a few days. So glad we did!!! We found tranquility, beautiful service, amazing private beach, the loveliest staff, a Cabana that I would have loved to bring home with me..Yoga temple, glorious views. The owner Lole welcomed you and immediately felt like you entered a little piece of heaven. Sandra, Clara, Sarah were so very sweet. Nico the Chef prepared the most delicious dishes, from the special appetizers to the entrees onto the desserts. Absolutely the best!!! Manuel our waiter gave superb service, friendly smiling happy to serve us. All the waiters and waitresses were charming. You are a 10 min taxi ride to Cabarete a beautiful village/town. Really have the best of all right here. Oh....they offer spa services too. Beach is right there and how calming to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Loved every bit of it!

Fantastic food!
We enjoyed our stay, the food was excellent! We asked to move to cabana with a hammock, as I had requested a hammock before our stay there....they did very graciously move us to a cabana with a hammock. My only problem was the hot water didnt work in new cabana, didnt matter whether I had switch on an hour before my shower or 20 minutes as they say. The weather was very rainy most of our stay and it would of been nice to have a hot shower. The women who did my massage and facial, which I am sorry can't remember her name was AMAZING! Best one I've had in years.

Great Beach & gorgeous resort
The grounds are lovely and very peaceful. The private beach is wonderful and the ocean is beautiful and lots of fun to play in. Be sure to walk in front of the resort in front of the breakfast/lunch restaurant through a tree lined path and then out to the ocean. You can walk probably a good hour along a fantastic stretch of beach. Along this stretch are surfing and kite surfing schools. This beach is great and fun to watch the surfers. Some of the beach chairs have seen better days. The food is terrific as is the staff in both restaurants. Everything was fresh and very tasty. We enjoyed a wonderful massage beachside and a facial. Both were lovely and affordable. The yoga space is great - hearing the ocean and feeling the breeze while practicing adds another level of peace to your practice. The teacher is very knowledgeable and on the athletic side but I'd say it would be accessible to most yogis. Our room, Laja, was toward the back of the resort so we did get some noise from deliveries and workers coming and going. We also didn't have a cozy porch like most of the other bungalows. We did not have hot showers even though we turned on the heat. Since we spent our days at the beach a coolish shower was ok.

. Went to Pasta e Vino in Cabereate for a pitcher of wonderful mojitos! Went back for dinner a couple nights later. Great view, great service, and great food.
