I stayed At The Hotel During The Week so It Was Very Low Key..The Only Problem I Was The Plumbing. Other Then That It Was With The Price.

I was comfortable, felt safe, and will stay again when I get back in town. The shower was great, I didn't know water could get that hot! The TV was good, not HD but that's ok. The air conditioner was very good and cooling the place down. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was tasty, fresh hot waffles! Yum. Will for sure be back.

People working here were great- helpful and friendly. Rooms large and very clean. An easy 20 min walk to the beach. Only problem was wifi would not work on my iPod touch after day 2. Dont know why. Worked on my wife's iPhone.

We planned a family vacation to LEGOLAND and this was the perfect place to stay. Everywhere we went was within a 5 t.o 10 minute drive. It was a perfect location. LEGOLAND, Carlsbad State Beach, Flowerfields of Carlsbad, Carlsbad Outlets, and a bunch of great restaurants were nearby. We were also pleasantly surprised that the rooms had microwaves and […] refrigerators which made it easy to have snacks and reheat leftovers. My husband and I were really pleased with their continental breakfast because they have great waffles that you make fresh to order. There was your typical cereal, breads, fruit, and juices but the waffles were great. We even went to the local market and bought strawberries and whipcream for our morning waffles. Overall our stay was very nice except this South Asian man, a military style commanding officer at the breakfast room stating on a broad voice "DO NOT TAKE FOODS IN THE ROOM AND YOU MUST EAT HERE" instructing to another guest. We booked the suite with a king bed, which was very comfortable. Our suite was next to the breakfast room and soundproofing was excellent. Bathroom was clean and water pressure strong. We definitely would stay here again.

Stayed on our trip to Legoland for two nights. Room was very clean and though a little dated kept well. You are super close to freeway but noise didn't bother us. Management staff aren't the cheeriest of people but were for most part responsive. Breakfast was okay. Waffles and hard boiled eggs were good. Would have appreciated actual mugs in the room […] instead of plastic cups and that if they offer tea and coffee 24hrs in the lobby its actually kept hot. Overall good value for the price. Read more

Everything was fine with this hotel. The staff was very accomadating. It is situated near everything we were interested in doing. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only drawback, as others have said, it is very close to a very busy I-5. We would stay again .

This hotel was a great value. Easy to find, centrally located, very clean, yummy complimentary breakfast (downside, had to eat it there, couldn't take back to your room). Has freeway noise, so recommend asking for room in the back. Would definitely stay again with my family.

I read a few of the reviews here to get an idea of it before my stay. I selected it over the Rodeway Inn at Oceanside because I thought it looked nicer. Man was it a bad choice. They claimed the breakfast was great - it wasn't. Yes, there were waffles... And that was about it. Icy hard boiled eggs and watery juice, hard as a rock raisin danishes. I […] had to get breakfast elsewhere after only having one waffle. Oh and not to mention that the breakfast room was FREEZING! They had the door open and a FAN ON during SD's worst cold snap of the year. 37 degrees in there according to my temp gauge. Beds were uncomfortable, pillows were nice. Blanket was itchy. Unremarkable room. It claims that it is "Near Legoland" - it isn't. Plus, it is sort of a pain to get to. I would say the Rodeway Inn Oceanside is a better buy, because I saw it while I was driving around and it had a wonderful ocean view right from the parking lot - and was twenty-five dollars cheaper. It really wasn't much farther than the Econo Lodge if your destination is Legoland. Also, the check in lady was really rude. Was nearly going to make a complaint. Watch out for that. They put us on the 2nd floor, though I have a 4 month old baby who loves to wiggle - especially when I am walking up and down stairs. I would not stay here again, I feel like I overpaid. Read more

The only other hotels less expensive than this one had horrible reviews, especially because those hotels smelled so bad. So you can imagine my surprise when this was an impressively attractive room with easy chair for reading and a desk. The staff was lovely. The breakfast was the standard continental. I really appreciate the feedback from previous guests, as I found the room to be spacious and comfortable. Having the AC on made the freeway noise disappear...although it wasn't that bad even without the AC on. We were in a room just above the pool and there were a group of 20-somethings out there talking and smoking when we checked-in around 10pm, […] and the AC even drowned-out the sounds of their conversations. The lobby smelled a little funky, and I was worried that the food was going to be served in that space, but it wasn't. The food was fine and having the toast, waffles, red apples, oranges, and hardboiled eggs, was a nice way to start my day. Not a huge selection, but enough to get my day started. I had a terrible flight and didn't think my day could get any worse until I pulled into this hotel. It was in a shady part of town, the lobby smelled of strong, pretty gross curry, and the pool looked so old and disgusting.The room was ok. The amenities and the shower were nice. I found blood on a towel, not fresh, it was clearly washed several times, […] but I still saw it. We received replacement towels quickly and the man was very nice. But I decided to inspect the towels before use, and sure enough, another towel had an even larger amount of washed blood.
