"good for what it is"
Not luxurious, but clean and comfortable, with very friendly service. A bit of a drive from downtown Plymouth, but worth it for the reasonable price (considering the place and season).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great, friendly place to stay!"
We arrived very late in the evening. We were welcomed warmly by the hotel owner who had helpful suggestions as to where we might eat. Our first morning, we were awakened by road construction. However, the innkeeper immediately put us in a large room away from the hub bub of traffic. We stayed 2 more nights. The best thing about this hotel is that our […] comfort and needs were important to owners. We felt like our business was important to them. They provided a better than average continental breakfast and had multiple suggestions for activities and sites to see each day we were there. We received tips on how to avoid major traffic delays with alternate routes, and were able to organize our stay in that area to see the best attractions, while avoiding weekend crowds. This personalized attention made the difference in our experience. We would return again, if given the chance to return to the Plymouth, Massachusetts area. This hotel was perfectly located to make it a home base to Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard. We had a memorable 30th Anniversary! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Family Owned and Friendly"
We had a good 2-night stay while visiting friends in the area and a family event. The owner runs it and is very friendly and accommodating. We would gladly stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good value place to stay."
This is a low cost motel for folks looking for value. Clean beyond belief. Small, adequate, very pleasant owner. Modest but adequate continental breakfast. Good location . I would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was so loud first thing in the morning!! So close to the road. There was heavy construction in the area and it started at about 6:30 am. Check with them first, because they wont tell you!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"review of blue spruce motel"
very nice hotel - very friendly staff - positioned perfectly for visiting Cape Cod and Plymouth. Only problem we had was the strength of the internet signal. we could only use it right at the door.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our main complants are that the walls were thin and and the sheets small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place to Stay"
I totally enjoyed my visit to the Blue Spruce Motel (Blue Spruce being my favorite tree)! It is truly like a country inn and the Innkeepers are friendly, caring and very well informed. The location is great unless you are traveling all over New England..but I would stay there again! Thansk for your kindness and caring while I stayed with you. "Adorable Little Room"
Very nicely done redecorating, etc. Only drawback was the tiny shower. If we weren't also tiny, would not have worked. Otherwise, great place.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very comfortable at a fine location"
This hotel is a treasure in the heart of Manomet. The staff was friendly, helpful and very easy to speak with. Tommy the owner is pleasant and a good person to ask directions or just to say hello. Highly recommend, I did ask if cigars could be smoked and I was more than willing to walk away not to bother other guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a perfect motel for visiting the Plymouth area. The breakfast was delicious and it was a delight to eat this outside on the patio. The whole motel was well run and the ambience was quiet and relaxing. We were also able to sit out in front of our room, which was a great bonus.I thoroughly recommend a stay in this motel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ok Hotel a long way from Plymouth"
Hotel, average, breakfast very good. We were a family with 2 teenage children and the room was cramped with no tea/coffee facilities available. Noisy neighbours in the room next door did not help!Genuine Expedia guest review
Good location for the Plymouth area. Service from the owners was very good and the fresh fruit salad at breakfast was excellent. Room was a bit dated and small and didn't include a kettle or coffee maker, though the fridge was useful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint woodsy setting."
The hotel was clean and the owner quite helpful. The walls are definitely thin though. Neighbours had loud kids who were up very late. It would have been nice to have a small coffee maker or kettle in the room to make a cup of tea. Only hotel that I've been to that hasn't. The scenery around the hotel is beautiful and there are excellent restaurants […] in the area. I would definitely go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A good motel"
The Blue Spruce was just fine, it is quite old but clean and comfortable. I guess it is family run as management / owners were very keen to please. The breakfast was probably the best we have experienced to date during 3 weeks of touring New England. The location is fine, close to Plymouth, an excellent restaurant next door. Overall I rate it highly […] for the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good place to stay to visit Plymouth"
This is a basic well kept motel, with an excellent location for visiting Plymouth and Cape Cod. The staff were very helpful. There are several eateries and grocery shops etc within walking distance which also added to the convenience of staying there.

Angenehmer Aufenthalt, saubere Zimmer, freundliches Personal.
"Clean and Friendly"

The woman who checked us in was very friendly. The room was spotlessly clean. The continental breakfast was fresh and satisfying. It's a no frills, clean, hospitable, reasonably priced place with a dash of country charm. I would stay there again without hesitation.

The room had a smell that was not pleasant, a combination of smoky and musty. They are non-smoking rooms but many of the guest I saw just stand outside their doors and smoke and the smell wafts upward. The rooms are small and rather non-descript. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. I've stayed in worse, but I wouldn't care to stay there again.

7-30 to 8-1 terrible place will not stay there again. As soon as I walked in Musty smell, shower was so small a large person could never fit. Bed was small and to close to wall to get in and out BIG yellow stain on spread. Dark and dirty
"Home Away from Home"

I just finished making another reservation at the Blue Spruce motel in manomet. Tom and Cheryl and their staff make our stay so easy and comfortable. The clean well maintained rooms, the comfortable beds (nice pillows!), the little fridge and microwave are all part of the homey feeling we get staying here. We have stayed here often over the past 20 years. Tom is quick to produce whatever amenity we need (often bringing me a coffee first thing in the morning when I am on my own.) My husband likes the continental breakfast especially. Blue Spruce is family friendly and the staff is full of kindness. Lee

We spent two nights at Blue Spruce. I was ready to return home the minute I opened the door to room 114. The musty smell was disappointing. The bed spread had a yellow stain and the shower...oh the shower was so small when I dropped the soap I had to step out of the shower to pick it up unless I wanted to bump my head on the shower wall. As one of the recent reviews commented, when you go from a H to a M, don't expect much. And lastly, in todays world WiFi is a must for many people. From room 114 we had to walk up the driveway to the office to use it. All in all, I was disappointed with Blue Spruce.

Only spent 1 night as a stopover, but had a wonderful stay. A lot of food, shopping nearby, Dunkin, ice Cream, a tavern/grill, gas station, etc. motorcycle friendly. Not a Marriott, but very charming, clean, comfortable and quiet. Fantastic large complementary breakfast with homemade muffins, yummy!! Only 6 miles to Plymouth. The owners were absolutely wonderful. Only had wifi near main office. Thanks for a great stay!!!
"Cleaner than my father-in-law's cape house!!"

Ok.. so you read all these reviews.. don't expect a Courtyard or anything like a typical hotel. Like Manny from modern family says.. "once you go from an 'H' to an 'M' (for Motel) you lose alot of amenities Jay!" .. and that is about it. Small rooms, but very clean.. I slept great in the bed. Average.. small bathroom.. nice FRESH breakfast. The bottom line.. is that the people who own this place do a great job with what they have.. we stayed here since we had a family function at Manomet point.. would never otherwises stay here but if I was in the area again abd needed a place to stay.. this is it.
"Charming, affordable motel"
07/03/14 debhug65 Columbus, Ohio
We stayed at the Blue Spruce in June and found it to be extremely clean and affordable. It has an old-fashioned charm that we liked. The room was VERY clean and the grounds well-kept and attractive. We especially liked the complimentary breakfast, which was much more than expected! The owners were friendly and helpful. The motel is located is only 6 miles from Plymouth Harbor and we discovered a lovely beach (White Horse) about 5 minutes drive from the motel. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
"Very nice place, low cost"
07/01/14 Sergio P South Florida, Florida
First, the bad part, the shower is very small (about 2 and a half feet square), but that's about it; the room was of average size but immaculately clean, all rooms have a small porch area where one can sit as well, the bed was comfortable, the room also has a real closet and the 32" TV worked just fine. The place is run by the original owners, they have run it for over 35 years, they are really nice and polite people and address your needs very quickly, the grounds are well maintained and actually quite nice. They also offer a complimentary continental breakfast that is more than the usual muffin and juice offered at most chains, it contained hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, bagels, yogurt, various cheeses, etc.. My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and Plymouth Center and the other tourist attractions are 10 minutes away on Route 3A, you don't even need to make a turn! The prices are inexpensive for the area, average about 110 USD per night, which for the area and time of the year we went (summer is high season for the area) is a very reasonable price. Overall we had a very pleasant experience and would not hesitate to stay here again.
