For $112 this place was a steal. Clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was okay. Location could be better, but all in all it was within easy walking distance of most places you'd want to see. You get okay bang for your buck...but paying $12/day for parking was ridiculous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Desk clerk very courteous and helpful -----room clean and comfortable. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not worth the price. Yes it's close to the historic area but it's also very close to a not so safe neighborhood. The staff, room & location left much to be desired.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place for SCAD visits. Clean and safe."
Stayed here while my daughter was moving into scad for a total of three nights. We had a double queen room, not a suite. Microwave and fridge was a nice convenience. The room was large, ultra clean and comfortable. It was just across the street from the civic centre which was very convenient for orientation activities. It's also close to the dorms. […] A bonus was the library in the lobby. Borrowed a book I have always wanted to read! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Proximate to visitor's center"
Once one gathered how to check into inn, all went smoothly. A note should have been made of a larger car having to be parked in the $12 nightly stay across the street . Else parking is free in the lowest level cubbies. Description was vague on this, and it is a game changer for urban hotels who receive cars. . Breakfast was splendiferous with its widespread […] offerings and comfy seating. Bathroom door in our handicapped accessible room swang open too widely to create conflict with the entry portal. The hotel was not near the water but there was a Trolley Stop close by that made up for the distance. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The staff were great with the exception of one desk clerk. I know many hotels do extra perks for guests such as coffee 24/7 and other items. This one offered cookies in the evening for their guests. I went downstairs […] one evening after smelling the cookies baking. They were sitting in the pantry area cooling so I decided to wait. One of the desk clerks walked into the pantry got several cookies then went back to the desk. I went and asked her when they would be ready. While eating a cookie, she informed me it would be a few minutes. I was a little shocked that she would just stand there eating and basically tell me to wait. I went back to my room and returned 15 minutes later. Again, they were not out for the guests. The clerk was at the desk. Finally, a woman came rushing from the concierge area to get the cookies. The clerk yelled at her "don't rush I had someone else getting them since they were late". By now there were several people waiting. I am not complaining about the cookies but the customer service from this one clerk. The rest of the staff bent over backwards to help the guests but it appeared as though she was not going to do more than what she had to do. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"It was ok!!!"
I have stayed many times in Savannah in the last 2 years due to the fact that my son is attending SCAD. This hotel has a good location but the hotel and it's amenities, comfort, etc is just average. The bed is not very comfortable. I'm glad I brought my own pillow as well. The price is good however.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We love staying here!!"
We have stayed here twice, and both times we were very pleased. The rooms are very clean, all the staff are very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is always excellent! When we return for our next trip, we will be staying here again!!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful hotel and great location."
My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Country Inn and Suites Historical District. A perfect location as it is within walking distance to many wonderful places to see in Savannah. The wonderful hospitality at this hotel started as soon as we walked in the door. We were greeted by Terrell who was very pleasant and informative. Any time we needed information […] or had questions, there was always a pleasant and willing person behind the desk to assist in any way possible. And, with a smile!! Our room and bathroom were very clean and the King sized bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. I did think the air conditioning could have been cooler. Even set at 59 degrees, we found the room to be a little on the warm side, but not unbearable. The breakfast buffet each morning was satisfying with the normal scrambled eggs, a meat to choose from, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, cold cereals and a section with bagels, muffins, and breakfast pastries. Coffee, tea and juices were also available. On our last morning, I finally met Brenda. I had read about her in many of the other reviews. Everything that has been said about her is so true. What a warm, pleasant woman she is. I so enjoyed conversation with her. My husband and I liked this hotel very much and would stay here again should we return to beautiful Savannah. "Very nice hotel, at great price"
I booked 3 rooms for my family mini vacation, and we enjoyed our stay. Most of the staff was very friendly, especially Brenda, she was awesome. Very upbeat, helpful and funny. The rooms were clean and very nice and we had a great night sleep. Didn't get a chance to use the pool but checked it out and it looked very inviting. The free breakfast was great […] and of course after we arrive the cookies were put out, Yummy. Only thing to remember if you book, don't immediately go to the parking, it is small and don't have much spaces, and you have to check in before being advise of where to park, so don't waste time. A great hotel and would recomend it to everyone the location for Savannah is one of the best locations easy to get to everything by walking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Free parking ?"
On Expedia Website Notice for this hotel, we can read "Full Breakfast Free Parking Free High-Speed Internet" So, why had we to pay $36 at the end of our stay for 3 days parking ? In our opinion, the air conditioning is set too low in public areas. Apart from these inconveniences, it's a nice hotel with a nice staff and a nice pool.Genuine Expedia guest review
I love the hotel would recommend anyone the only thing is the parking is too small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
nice place but don't forget to include the $12 per night parking fee. also, hey keep it REALLY cold in there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in historic downtown Savannah"
I arrived after 8 and staff was very accommodating, directing me where to park, and showing me on a map where to get a good take-out meal, even calling to place my order for me when I kept getting voicemail at the restaurant. The concierge was helpful in explaining various options for tours and places to visit in the historic area.Genuine Expedia guest review
I love country inns and suites but I didn't like the location of hotel. We had to park in a parking garage that was across the street. At night the area was not well lit at all and was dangerous. The area was really run down. The hotel room was a nice size but dated. Street noise was a problem. I didn't think it was worth it especially for the pric […] e!!! Response by B Historic Savannah Dear Valued Guest; I am so sorry to hear that your stay with us was not an enjoyable one; and that you did not feel safe with your surroundings. The squares and side streets between our hotel and River Street get really dark at night; and we recommend traveling on Montgomery Street in the evenings for better lighting. We are happy to accommodate room requests such as quiet room, away from elevator or streets for guests that prefer piece and quiet throughout their stay. Please feel free to contact the front desk whenever facing an issue that is unsatisfactory. We appreciate your patronage.
"nice but chilly"
Very nice hotel in good location for walking and exploring. All staff very friendly and helpful. Lobby and breakfast area very cold temperature wise. Our room had a stain in the carpet directly in eye sight when you walked in. Seems like they world clean that as it was your first impression.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for the price."
This hotel was located in walking distance to downtown. The parking was across the hotel which was ideal. The best part was the breakfast. This was the best hotel breakfast I have ever ate. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very attentive staff"
WE had a noise in our room from AC when checked in, they immediately sent someone and when it wasn't an easy to fix they quickly change our room. Person who came for the issue was great. He even take care of the room change we didn't have to even go to reception area. Breakfast was OK but eggs were cold. And they can definitely use a new toaster.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was close to the historic district, so the location was OK. Not in the center, but walking distance. The rooms were good size but the cleanliness was not quite what I expected. Overall the hotel was a solid 3.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Savannah's best pick!"
Clean, clean, clean & quiet! Fantastic 5:00 warm- baked cookies! Breakfast was fantastic and included in the price! Front desk staff okay (Benita needs to learn how to smile), but she was the only one who didn't exude southern charm. Cleaning staff warm & friendly!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, older but clean good value"
Honestly, you get what you pay for and this place truly delivered. Beds were clean and comfortable, staff was helpful and the breakfast was nice, hot food and plenty of it. Building is clean, starting to look a little frayed and they need to fix the mid-landing on the stairs before it gets worse, but other wise, better than I had a right to expect for […] the price I paid. I have to really compliment the staff because, honestly, the only downside were other travelers. We watched one couple insist that their college age son and many, many friends be allowed to eat at the breakfast buffet, putting the poor clerk in an awkward situation by raising their voices and yelling when she attempted to note that none of the people were staying at the hotel and should not be eating there. Then we had two families with 3 or 4 kids each who let the kids run all over screaming and yelling (small kids 10 and under) plus they had an "accident" in the pool that closed it for a full day. All of this was handled with smiles, grace and calmness by this excellent staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great stay at a conveniently located hotel near SCAD and the city market. Easy walking distance to most everything else. Breakfast was great and we loved the fruit infused water when we returned to the hotel. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The only thing that we would have liked would have been an outdoor pool.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient with claustrophobic parking"
The hotel is conveniently located to the visitors center and Old Savannah Tours. Parking below the hotel is extremely tight but you have in and out access. Can't beat it for $12/day.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel walking distance to Historic Savannah"
Nice hotel, reasonable rate. Staff was very friendly. Guest laundry which is nice if your on a long trip. A little difficult to initially to access hotel because of location and traffic pattern in area. You have to pay $12.00 a night for parking - in a garage with plenty of spaces. Easy walking distance to all the squares and the river attractions. […] Breakfast had a nice variety of items from cold to hot. "Relaxing All the Way!"
Nice, clean and comfortable room. Our room was very close to the breakfast area so it was a little noisy in the morning. However, the smell was awesome.. The staff were always willing to help us with directions to different places. Got a great price for the rooms. Definitely a place we will stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is right downtown Savannah so the parking cost an extra $12. It was a fairly short walk down to the river where there are neat shops and eating places. Other than the inconvenience of parking, it was a great stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
We would stay here again. Clean, comfortable, helpful staff. They charge for parking, though. There is a public parking deck directly across the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
