Like most Windsor the staff are great, friendly, and helpful. Most speak English. The breakfast buffet has a good variety of food but it's certainly not at the level of Windsor Atlantica. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and they're certainly better than other 3.5 star hotels in the area. On the other hand, the bathrooms are rather spacious. It's in a good location right on the border of Copacabana and Leme, though not facing the beach it's about a 5 min walk. I prefer Windsor Atlantica, but this is a great alternative to the 4 and 5 star hotels if you want to save a bit of money.

Pros: Excellent Front Desk Staff. They all courteous, speak english and very helpful to your needs. Room service is great. Unless there are people ahead of you for service Good value for money. Good Amentities. Cons: Breakfast buffet is okay little expensive Room service menu is strictly ok. compared to hotels in US. Location is strictly ok. There is a shop opp the hotel but no restaurants,pharmacy, convienence store etc close by. It isn't a happening neighouborhood. It's kind of far from the Mall and other parts of the city.

On Barra beach front which is quiet and safe (most others are not in Rio especially out of 10-5 timescale). It is out of the action so 25mins 40R taxi ride to centre but only 10mins from Barra centre which is the safe middle class suburb of Rio where everyone is moving to due to threats elsewhere in Rio. Upgraded beach front room had big terrace, big […] bed, decent size, split air con. Room service was minimal after 10pm but pizza was fine. Others would go for the big name beaches but Barra is perfect, safe and quiet; if you want danger, noise, crowding by all means go big name beaches but IMHO as a non city slicker they are over rated (been in and out of Brasil for 2 years now and seen/heard of things that happen; they will not happen to everyone but you do not want to them to happen to you so eyes wide open..) Although the Casa del Mar is a little far from the "action"--it was still very accessible by bus or taxi without much trouble or expense. The staff was very welcoming. My room had a lovely beachfront view. Since the hotel is in a quieter area--Barra da Tijuca, across the street from the beach--I felt very safe going to the beach or a jog. Most of nearby […] highrises were condos and apartments--not hotels. Since it's mostly residential; there were no restaurants or shops within walking distance. In the mornings; people could be seen walking their dogs or taking a jog along the beachfront. If you are looking for the quieter side of Rio in a safe area, but a short taxi or bus ride away from everything--this is a great location. The reasonable room rate made it even better. Read more

Nota 10 para as recepcionistas do hotel . A conservação deixa um pouco a desejar , no andar que fiquei estava sem o vidro de uma janela no haal do elevador o que em caso de chuva pode molhar todo o chão e causar um grave acidente , pequenas refformas deixariam o hotel excelente.
