This hotel is set in a beautiful location with such a pretty garden. Very useful with guildford town centre only 4 miles away. The parking is free. We had a really warm welcome from the receptionist and was treated very well. The price included use of all facilities including pool, gym, sauna, steam room and hot tub. As we have never done we checked out just few minutes later after we had checked in. There was a funny smell since the time you enter the place, it was not very nice and the place was old. Carpet not in good condition neither.

Very good accommodation for the money, I had an excellent rate from Hotels.com. My room was a very good size, clean and comfortable. Bathroom with bath and shower over, this was also a good sized room. I always use this hotel when i am in Guildford on business, The staff are very pleasent and helpful, the gym is not too big but has everything you need for a great workout, the hotel beds give a great nights sleep, the rooms are always clean, the dinner menu needs a little passion in its execution and presentation but it is good.

Arrived after midnight. Night porter very friendly and helpful. Left early the next day so didn't get to use the hotel facilities. However the room was more than adequate and the hotel looked good.

The Receptionist was grumpy and not at all welcoming. Everything was an effort. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work, the sink and taps were dirty and clearly had not been cleaned properly for some time. There were no additional pillows in the room. I've stayed here a couple of times and, fortunately, I had a decent room this time. However, I'm always amazed at the sullen, bored and disinterested attitude of the reception staff. Having said that, the bar staff are kind and helpful at least, as are the waiting staff. Food is distinctly average. Hotel is in a beautiful location but for the price I expect a higher standard. Rooms were dated and under maintained and with weddings on both evenings we stayed it was also noisy - when we commented on this the hotel staff merely shrugged and said "yeah that can happen" Not a particularly service minded response

Very tired hotel. Seemingly not updated since the early 90s. Dinging rooms and bathrooms.
