Can't wait to go back! We had a horizon room and kept the doors open almost all of the nights listening to the ocean. All of the staff was helpful and kind, by the end of the week they were almost bringing us what we wanted before asking. Hotel was extremely quiet yet mingling with some of the other guests was fun. The restaurant was the best restaurant […] we ate at while in Playa-even when comparing it to some of the highest rated places to eat on chowhound. All the dishes were creative and fresh. The hotel was ok, very rustic and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly (Freddy is the best beach-bartender! ask for him). The food there was really good and inexpensive. Our room didn't have electronic devices, such as T.V. alarm clock, radio, etc. That was not a problem for us! On the other hand, no hot water in the shower, just lukewarm water […] (that was a torture for me!). Our room was not clean, it seem like they just cleaned it very superficial. We chose Le Reve because of a tip from a friend. We have to say that the place couldn't have been more wonderful! Amazing food at the restaurant (Naya). Small sparsely appointed "hotel" located at the end of a pothole filled dirt road in a run down outskirt area of Playa Del Carmen. The good things: great security on duty all evening, free cooked to order breakfast every morning, comfortable bed, delicious cocktails. The not so good things: we live in NYC, travel extensively, and this is by far the […] worst service we have ever experienced in a hotel of any ratings category. Just a few examples: napkins not provided during dinner (even after asking 3 times), wrong entree served, no chair cover provided for beach chair (asked FIVE times nicely in english and spanish, every other chair had one), double confirmed massage reservation "vanished," and never anyone at the front desk when you need one - we returned to our room after dinner one evening and the maid had locked the bathroom... we waited 20 minutes for someone to return to the desk. We were looking for a relaxing, romantic vacation and got a stressful headache at a glorified motel that falsely bills itself as luxurious. I urge you not to stay here. Read more

Great botique hotel/spa. The occupancy was on the low side during our visit so we really had the place to ourselves (e.g. beach, restaurant). The staff was friendly and professional. You feel safe at the property and the common areas and grounds are well maintained. The road to the resort is a little scary on first arrival (once the asphalt road ends), […] but you get used to it and it's worth the ride. Would suggest renting when staying at any of the resorts outside of Playa del Carmen because of the convenience factor and the freedom to explore other towns and attractions in the area without having to rely on fixed tours or taxis. The traffic/road rules take a little bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, no problemas. Read more

My husband and I spent 4 days at Le Reve to celebrate my 40th. It was absolutely fabulous - better than we could have ever anticipated. The food was incredible - someone obviously knows what they are doing in that small kitchen and puts a ton of love into the food. The presentation of the food was nearly as great as the food itself - a true art! The […] staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating - when I asked about a sea kayak they had it out of storage, washed and on the beach waiting for us within 10 minutes. The little extras like beautifully prepared nightly desserts at turn down service and thoughtful quotes on vellum made us feel really special. The resort itself is beautiful and dreamy, but not having Wifi in the room was too great a downside. Wifi was available in the lobby and restaurant, but at impossibly slow speeds. The surrounding area also has little to offer. If we returned to the Yucatan Peninsula, we'd stay in Tulum without hesitation.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. After great difficulty finding it, compounded by their telephone not working, we arrived expecting 5 start and saw 3 star accommodation. The rooms were quite small with old and tired furninshings. It was so bad we could not stay there and decided to cancel, knowing we woiuld forfeit 1 days accommodation, but6 found out […] later thyey kept our entire pre-payment, quoting a technicality. What an amazing location? It's about 15 minutes by taxi from the centre of town, so it's a perfect location for those wanting to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Playa central. The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. The only two negative comments I would make are, the road to get to the hotel is not paved making it a little difficult for taxis to get to and from it (you need a taxi if you want to get to the centre of Playa del Carmen or anywhere outside of the hotel). The beach is lovely however there are lots of rocks […] in the ocean meaning you need to wear shoes (which they do provide). Hotel qui doit dater des années 70 et qui a été très bien rénové. Il est au calme ( pas dans le centre de Playa del Carmen, il faut prendre un taxi pour s y rendre). Les installations sur la plage ( matelas, hamacs) sont bonnes et il y a de la place pour ne pas être collé à son voisin ( contrairement aux autres etablisssements de playa). Par contre […] pour se baigner il faut traverser les rochers... Le restaurant est qualitatif et romantique le soir. Cet établissement bien que de bonne qualité reste cher!
