The weather was cold and rainy, so it was a real pleasure to be met with a pleasant and warm front desk staff. The off season rates are surprisingly low considering the good condition and amenities offered by this hotel. Our room was spotless and offered a great view of the Wright Brothers Memorial. We will be staying here again.

We wish the hotel had notified us that they are currently undergoing renovations; but the rooms were great and the staff did everything possible to make us comfortable. The hotel restaurant had great food and was very affordable; especially for breakfast. Off season pricing was great and our family would love to go again!

We had never stayed at this hotel before and were very skeptical. We were pleasantly surprised. We had originally booked an "interior" room. When we checked in I asked about an ocean view room and the desk clerk hooked us up at no extra charge. Way cool. It was very comfortable with a heater that didn;t sound like 747 about to take off.

For a family that wants to save some money on an Outer Banks getaway, this hotel is the place. It is right on the beach and a short drive to Avalon pier, Wright Bros Memorial and many other attractions. We were able to cook our dinners in the full kitchen and take advantage of the hotel's excellent continental breakfast (much more than coffee and donuts) to save big. The hotel could use a little sprucing up, but the staff made up for that on friendliness and willingness to accommodate. Note to anyone who plans to cook in the room, there are no baking dishes in the rooms so plan on bringing your own. There are plates,cups, flatware, saucepans and skillets as well as a microwave and full fridge. We will consider this hotel for our future trips to the Outer Banks.
