Hotel D'Angelo Palace - Mazara del Vallo

From our gracious and helpful reception through our solid night's sleep and hot shower to our tasty breakfast, all was well. Alas, finding our way to the hotel was hard--it is in the port but lacks any view of the water--and the walk from the hotel to the center of Mazara del Vallo was longer and less lovely than we would have liked.

hotel un peu excentré du centre ville à 5min environ en voiture, accueil sympathique (personnel parle un peu francais), chambre correcte avec balcon et petit étendoir (seul hic la barre pour mettre la serviette ne tenait plus), petit déjeuner buffet complet (salé, sucré, seul hic comme dans les autres hotels jus de fruit pas terrible)

Trivsamt, mycket välfungerande hotell i gammal engelsk stil. Lite trist omgivning med varv och verkstäder något utanför stadskärnan men å andra sidan levande och genuina kvarter. 15 minuters promenad till centrum. Värt att besöka igen.

Dángelo Palace is een mooi hotel aan de haven met een lelijk uitzicht, iets uit het centrum, wel dicht bij het strand. Goeie service, schoon, uitgebreid ontbijt, de verhuur van fietsen is erg handig. De kamers zijn aan de kleine kant, geen makkelijke stoelen. verder alles goed (voor die prijs) Het hotel is de gehele nacht open.

Hotellet ligger helt perfekt til mellom den flotte stranden og sentrum med masse historiske byggninger og litt uteliv. Billig sykkelleie på hotellet og det var kjempefint å sykle i område. Anbefales !

On the good side, the hotel appears just as presented in the photos - new furnishings and nice style. It is nice and clean, as one would expect. However, the location is questionable - more a combat zone/industrial area. The view of the sea is through the docks and vacant lots. Most distressing is that the expected service was not delivered. Even though […] we carefully checked that the hotel had air conditioning, we could not activate it in our room on arrival. An inquiry to the desk was met with "it's not possible now". Really? On a 28C sunny day in Sicily the A/C doesn't work? Insisting that I wanted to use it, I was informed that a technician would be summoned. Indeed, returning some hours later, it apparently had been switched on and we were able to make the room comfortable. Unfortunately, it was then shut down in the middle of the night, with the result that we woke up stuck to the sheets in a hot and uncomfortable room. A 3:00 AM nightmare call to the desk worked through one and two word sentences with the non English-speaking clerk and the machine was evidently made to run again. Come on now, this is 2011!! Can't the customer decide on his own comfort without losing a night's sleep to arguing about the A/C with the staff? I wouldn't recommend the place for that reason alone but the location is dodgy at best too. Read more
