The Quincy City Center Hotel - Quincy

The room was dirty. It had nail polish all over the floor in the bathroom and on the wall next to the bed. There were cigarette ashes on the bathroom floor. The wallpaper was ripped and tattered. The carpent was worn and cut up. For the amount I paid for the room, it was horrible.

Bed was rolled in the room. The bed didn't have a fitted sheet but rather a sheet tucked in. Toilet was not cleaned. Heat hadn't been turned on. I turned it on and it had that first burning smell that caused the smoke alarms to go off. I had to take a bath towel to fan the smoke alarm. Free breakfast only had one type of cereal. The hotel is old and worn. We waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to check us in. When she finally came, she arrived from the lounge carrying a bucket of Chex Party mix, munching away. The condition of the hotel was clean enough, but very worn..stained carpets, peeling walpaper. I thought this hotel was pretty decent, my friends and I were just staying there because we were going out for St. Patrick's day so we were only in room for a few hours. The only thing was their wasn't any toilet paper in room when we got there BUT when we asked they got it right to us.

Hotel was down on riverfront in a broken down area with lots of old unkept byuildings. hotel was unclean and very sub standard. Breakfast was in bags (to keep clean) and i didn't unpack for fear of bed bugs.

This room was filthy upon checking in and stayed that way upon checking out. Looks like maid spent 30 minutes watching tv in the room and five minutes cleaning. Hope they caught up on their soap operas, cause I won't be staying here again.

I first stayed at this hotel in the late 1980's when it was a Holiday Inn Holidome. It was wonderful, THEN!.. It is now frightening. I had to sleep in my clothes, did NOT unpack, and the only reason I did not find another is because everywhere else was booked. Please take this scary place off your listings to save Hotel.com name/face. It was like the Holiday Inn shut down in the late 1980s, and nothing has been done to it since...including cleaning. When I told friends that lived in Quincy, that I was staying there, they told me to check out immediately. It also has a reputation of having bed bugs..which is why I slept in my clothes and did NOT unpack. FYI, the staff was very nice! Walked in and the looked at the loby floors were dirty first of all place seemed to be very quiet nobody around. On the way to room looked at carpets in hallway stained terrible and had an odor then opened room door it reaked of cigarette smoke in a non smoking room the bathroom wasnt very clean especially the tub and shower area and a bug with wings […] was on my bed that can happen especially having a balcony door but wasnt pleased at all. The Microtel in Quincy, IL, is a very clean and well-kept hotel. Pool area and fitness area are nice too. My only complaint is that breakfast does not start until 7:00 on the weekends. I was nervous as we drove up. You could tell it was under construction, but that no one was currently working on it (no scaffolding, etc.) As we checked in, we were told that their key-making machine was being fixed and wouldn't be back until after left. We actually thought about getting another hotel room and losing the money we had already paid... The room was decently clean, but you could tell they didn't care about certain areas (bathroom floors mainly). The carpet was lumpy and frayed at entry points. The bedding was fine. This place is an old holiday Inn from the eighties with an indoor atrium and pool. Although it isn't the newest place in town it was nice and clean with big rooms. I got a weekend special rate and was very happy with the quality I got at an outstanding price. Thanks Quincy City Center.

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Dirty, nasty, looks like an ongoing renovation project. Sheetrock dust tracked on the hall carpets. Had to request a different room ... the first one was really bad. The night manager was as accommodating as possible, however, and made sure we were satisfied with our second room.

Floors in hallway dirty (big stains), cushion on couch in room had huge stain all over one seat. The "hot"breakfast has rock-like bicuits with luke-warm gravy, oy crunchy pancakes, the coffee resembled brown water, will not stay here again
