At the start it dirty was a 100 dollar cleaning fee before everything else. Secondly when we tried to check in the personal were ridiculously rude. Internet almost non existent first several days. People monitoring check in desk could not help and even lost their own service one day. Also lost cell service for a day. Spent lots of time at Starbucks who had no issues with service! Noise from upstairs room horrible as they constantly dragged chairs across the floor. We loved our condo. Was very clean and up to date. The kitchen is fully stocked. We did bring a crockpot which they had all other appliances. The service was good but it is not like a hotel. The stay in the hotel was the worst experience we had in Panama city. We were not aware of the rule that you have to be 25+ in order to check in. When we checked in it was 11:00 PM and there were no one in the front desk. So, we got the keys through the automatic system. The next day, we were not able to unlock the room. When we asked the reception, […] they said to leave the hotel in one hour as we were not 25+. We were even ready to pay security deposit or extra amount. But they didn't hear anything. There were 2 security guards waiting in front of our room to make sure that we pack our stuffs and leave. We were literally kicked out of the hotel for the age reason. We 5 guys were 23+ and all are international students. Also we were made to pay extra amount for "cleaning charge". They also have "no return policy". We booked the room for 4 days and we were kicked out after the first day. But they didn't return the money. I had to ask hotels.com to get my money back. This was my first & last time to use Expedia. Very dissatisfied with this hotel. Bed was an old spring mattress, very uncomfortable. Carpets were filthy. Bathtub drain was clogged. Bedroom side table lamp not working. Front porch was dirty. Sofa had stains all over it. Then to top it all off we discovered the second day that only 3 elevators were working […] and this resort has thirty floors. We were on the twenty-first floor so this made for very lengthy waits for the elevator. Not to mention the danger this would be in the event of an emergency. I believe it was room 1418 that we stayed in, its a front corner room. We had a great view of the Gulf and of the night life. The room was very nice and very well decorated and came with good patio furniture, not cheap crap. We had no issues with waiting on elevators like others are saying. We were there the first week of October and to be honest, we […] only SHARED an elevator I believe twice our whole stay. Plenty of chairs on the beach that you got 2 free rentals with your room. There is a drainage pipe going into ocean near hotel, but does no harm, kids were even playing in that water. Pools are very big but a little bit cold I admit, feels nice on a warm day though. Had alot of fun at local attractions, though that time of year winter hours are in effect and some places are even closed. Pier Park was a short walk away and a good place to do some shopping or eat at a nice restaurant. The outdoor hallways did freak my wife out a little bit being on a higher floor, but didnt bother her much after a day or two. One thing that did surprise me was that we came at an "after hours" time, which for a hotel of this size I was shocked to see nobody at the front desk at all. I would think there would be at least somebody there 24/7. So we had to call a number on a box there and they gave us a code to get into it and was able to get our info and room key in there. This sounds like an over-exaggerated review, but unfortunately it truly is not. There is even a guest book in this unit that people have wrote comments in and apparently, this has been a common complaint for over a year, yet the owner has done nothing to correct. If you have that much disregard for the people who are putting money in your pocket, then obviously, you don't care about the consumer. It seems like they know it will get rented out eventually to someone who doesn't have the opportunity to see pictures of their unit directly. That is what happened to my family. If you are looking for somewhere to stay while you are visiting panama city beach, i would definately recommend this hotel. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the beach view from your balcony is awesome. Once you step on the ground floor, you are at the beach. When we arrived, only five of the seven elevators were functioning. It took nearly two hours to get our things from the car to the room. The window of check in is too narrow. Also, the wait for beach chairs in the morning was nearly an hour long. The resort needs to coordinate with the chair operator to alleviate this inconvenience. "Elevator wait times can take up to 30 minutes."
Upon arrival I received an envelope, containing my room number, key cards, hotel information, etc. After waiting several minutes in a line to board one of the elevators, I discovered upon reaching the 17th floor that the room that I had been assigned was already occupied by a family. I'm sure the family was as surprised to see me as I was to see them […] after I opened their door... I then spent the next 15-20 minutes working my way back onto another elevator back to the lobby where they admitted their mistake and assigned me a new room. Upon arrival in the new "vacant" room, I was greeted by a bed which had a large soiled stain on its comforter. Rather than battle the extensive wait time for the elevators, I elected to remove the comforter and toss it in the closet prior to my fiance's arrival. After staying two nights and paying over $400, I was then hit with a $90 cleaning fee, which clearly isn't being applied as intended (huge blood or food stain on the comforter). "Great condo rental at beach ruined by elevators"
This was a very good value on a nice unit (although some of our friends units were not as nice). However all the many positives were completely negated by a lack of adequate elevator access. When you have a 30 story building, it requires most everyone to use the elevators. Seven unregulated elevators created very lengthy (as long as twenty minutes) […] waits to go up or down. Whether you have kids that are excited to go to the beach or to eat or if you are trying to get back to your room after a long day, facing these delays took the fun out of the otherwise enjoyable stay. There must be some way to control the elevator usage to improve this situation (limiting floor access for elevators?/designating some off limits for luggage carts?) The easy thing to say would cost money and that is additional elevator service and given that the place sells out pretty well I doubt they would be up for spending money. The whole purpose of our stay was a baseball tournament played five minutes from the facility. We headed out 25 minutes before the game and missed the 1st inning due to elevators.
