"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Very Good"
The room was very clean and service of the employees was very nice. It is close to 2 subways - very convenient (1 block & 2 blocks). I'll stay again.

"A taste of "little Italy" !!"
Great location! One block from DiPalo's famous cheese & meat deli! Two blocks from Ferrara's pastries & gelato's! China town food all around! Bow wow wow!! Close to BPC and Tribecca & Soho! Take a bite of the "Big Apple "!!

"great hospitality/great bargain"
I arrived several hours before check-in from a red-eye flight just so I could drop my luggage ... (now I'm not saying everyone should expect this) Hugh, working the front desk, was very hospitable and said I could help myself to the breakfast service in progress. Next thing I knew he was telling me he had a room for me! I went in, took a short nap and […] a hot shower and was ready to take on the day. Thank you SO much. I will definitely stay here again! "Best Western Hanbee, the Bowery, NYC"
I would say one of the best in its price range if you want to be in the area (lower east side). Not fancy, but rooms and bathrooms are considerably larger than many boutique hotels. Shame about the paper cups, no glasses available!
"Awesome stay in NYC"
This hotel is located in Chinatown, so obviously its not for everyone. However, being in the Lower East Side is definitely a plus if you are coming to NYC for nightlife. You are only minutes away from SoHo, NoHo, East/West Village, and Little Italy. The LES, has grown to become the "hot spot" in NYC so this hotels' location was perfect for me. My room […] was clean and the bed was comfortable and the staff was eager to please, that alone is enough for me. People who go into a hotel nit picking at all the little details really annoy me. Stop spending so much time in your room and go have fun on your vacation. IJS. I definitely recommend this hotel and will likely stay here again on my next trip to NYC. Read more
"Best Western at Bowery"
The rooms, especially the beds are super comfortable. And that is all you need! While its true it is lacking the amenities that I am used to in higher star hotels, I was able to book a large group and fit 4 to a room, cutting down our tour budget considerably. No one complained and in fact, the comfort of the beds combined with the cheap eats in the […] local area near Chinatown make this a very nice budget stay. I will be coming back for sure. Read more
"Best Western Bowery - Chinatown"
Great price for a very decent hotel in New York. Good location-2 subway stops within walking distance. It was nice to have internet & breakfast included in price of hotel, which is rare in NY. Our room was clean & comfortable. The staff was friendly. Highly recommended!

"Poor Soundproof...a bit noisy"
Bring a ear plug. The wall is thin and kids are running around all day and night. You can hear all buzzing outside even during late night.
"Couldn't have asked for more."
My stay was relatively short. One day, one night. Everything was perfect from the customer service to the cleanliness and comfort. The shower was amazing lol. I would stay here again.
"great hotel a little noisy"
I loved this hotel. people are nice and I can't believe it is New york.
"Great value"
Thia is my new favorite Hotel. The room is a good size, very good free breakfast, free internet, very convenient location for the subway and resturants. The price was 40% less than midtown. This will be my new first choice for future NY business trips.
"great hotel"
very nice hotel, clean rooms, close to subway, and well priced.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights in Dec. 2011 and was travelling alone. The hotel was convenient to the downtown area I was interested in visiting and was very, very comfortable. The room was small, but big enough for one to two people to fit comfortably. Very clean and I was glad there were no carpets. Heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. Breakfast […] was very good as well. Waffle maker, bagels, danish, oatmeal, cereal. Definately enough to have before heading out onto the street for a day of exploring. I would definately stay here again. Great value, helpful staff. Read more
"Perfect location"
Walking distance to Chinatown and Little Italy. Many restaurants and bars near by. Open market on Saturday morning was neat.

"Best Western Bowery Hanbee Best downtown spot"
I have never stayed in Chinatown or LITTLE ITALY. My family and friends thought I was crazy. But it was the best experience I had of staying in Manhattan. It was literally in the middle of Chinatown and Little Italy. We could walk everywhere from here. We walked to SoHO, Tribeca, West Village and Greenwich Village. We walked in the morning and late […] in the evening and felt safe. Everyone in the hotel was exceptionally accommodating. The free breakfast was more than one could expect from a free continental breakfast. The room was the usual New York small but with a lovely ASian flair modern style. Everything was very clean. My family and I will definitely stay there again. Read more
"Good location"
My biggest complaint was the traffic noise. All night I could hear every car driving by outside. The horns started blaring at 5:45 AM. And the last night we were there they were using a jack hammer outside from 10:30PM until 3AM. Did not get much sleep. Otherwise, the location was good. Rooms were small, but a good size by Manhattan standards.
"great value, great people"
The hotel room was ready early enough for me to check in by 2p, and, although it smelled a little stale, the management put a deodorizing machine in the room that took care of the problem right away. We were upgraded a floor, too. The TV does not have a guide channel, so upon request, the front desk sent up a channel guide, but no show guide available […] (but who's there to watch TV?) I enjoyed the variety at breakfast, and the lobby computers, but it was mainly the value of the property, and the super kind employees that impressed me. My tip to other travelers is to make sure you don't get on an express subway train when your intended stop is a local stop. The subway was running many trains as express due to track work, and learning the ropes on the fly was an added challenge. Read more
"Great location for Lower East Side"
Staying in the middle of Chinatown/Little Italy gives a great perspective to Manhattan. Great access to NoHo, SoHo, Greenwich, Tenement Museum, and, with a bit of a walk - to South Seaport, Wall St., etc. The subway is a block away if walking the streets of NYC is not your thing. Rooms are not huge, but fully adequate. Clean.
"Best Western Bowery Hanbee - great deal"
The ratings I gave it don't begin to reflect how good it is -- for the money. A perfectly fine hotel, in an acceptable location, for a great price. I'll stay there again.
"Amazing deal!!!"
I am from NYC but now live in Seattle. I usually stay with friends when I am in town, but this time my plans fell through. I panicked, because I know that hotels in the city are insanely expensive, and cheaper ones are filthy and gross. I was SO pleased to find this reasonably priced Best Western! It's located in a great interesting neighborhood, just […] a nice walk from LES nightlife and right down the block from a subway station! I don't understand anyone who says this isn't central--you can be at any main site in about 20 minutes! My room was super clean and quiet and the free breakfast is great! Also, being from NYC I am SUPER paranoid about bedbugs, so I checked every nook and cranny and found nothing suspicious. This place is AWESOME! Read more

"A Gem Between Chinatown and Little Italy"
If you are looking for a really nice (and big) room for a reasonable price in NYC, look no further than the Best Western off of Bowery. Great staff and the room was huge (7th floor). The cleaning staff leaves after 4 pm so you need to make sure that you have your turndown request in if you like to sleep in. The hotel is next to a Subway stop (Grand […] St.) and one block from Little Italy. Choice indeed.. Stay here, you won't regret it. Read more
"Best Bang for Your Buck in NYC"
This hotel is one of the best I ever stayed at in NYC! Great location: 3 blocks from Little Italy; 4 blocks from China Town; and only one short block from the B and D subway lines. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Great staff. Bathroom floor is heated. Only two negatives: the free continental breakfast is what you'd expect from a free continental breakfast, […] and it is NYC so the room is tiny. Travel to NYC once or twice a year and have never been this satisfied with a hotel in my price range. Have finally found a place to call home! Read more
"A hidden jewel in Chinatown"
Selected this hotel because of the price and location (one block from Grand St station), expecting a mediocre experience. What a surprise, friendly personnel, great, super clean (no carpet) room, great bathroom, excellent breakfast, I do not know what else to say. I would give it 4 stars, if the towels were bigger :) I will never look for a hotel in […] NYC, I have a home. Lobby is on the second floor which looks strange and suggested parking is not obvious (44 Elisabeth street, 3 blocks), and WIFI is free in the room! Read more

"Clean affordable hotel in Chinatown/Little Italy"
On a recent business trip, I stayed at this very clean hotel with above average sized rooms. Easy location in Chinatown, for exploring SOHO on foot or rest of NY via the subway system. The access to quality Chinese and Italian food cannot be beat. Liked this hotel so much, I will definitely stay here again myself or with my family.
"NOISE"
The Hanbee is a relatively new hotel located in the Chinatown part of Little Italy. It is at the corner of Grand St. and Bowery. A very busy intersection. Both streets have been torn up for more than a year and the big problem is NOISE due to large steel plates all over the roadway. Every vehicle creates a loud crash as they cross the plates. The noise […] is constant all day and night. Windows are double glazed but I think the walls are not properly insulated so the noise come right through. Eta for fix is unknown!!!!!! Read more
"Clean, Modern, Great Location, Friendly Staff"
I would definitely book this hotel again. Great Room, Great Price, Great Downtown Location just minutes from everything.
"Excellent Experience"
This hotel was very clean and comfortable and the neighborhood / location was fantastic!
"Hotel in Chinatown/Little Italy"
I stayed here while visiting my daughter at NYU. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. The room was extremely clean and large. The complimentary breakfast was toast, muffins, waffles, cereal--it was fine, especially considering the price of the hotel. My only real problem was the noise outside the hotel. I stayed on the fifth floor and every morning […] I heard large trucks going by on the street starting around 4.This problem can probably be overcome by asking for a room on a higher floor or one that is not overlooking the street. The hotel is a short walk from the subway station and also Little Italy. This gives lots of choices in restaurants. Also Soho shopping is within an easy walk. I would stay here again as long as i could get a higher room. Read more

"Road work"
Was VERY NOISY @ night because of road work.Carpet in hall was pulled up exposing only wood, they said they had water damage from sprinkler system. Would have been nice to have this info BEFORE we checked in.Staff was helpful, but could have offered us an upgrade.

"Just Right"
Our stay was great. The room was clean and basic, but that was just what we were looking for on this trip. The location was close to the places we wanted to visit (SOHO, NOHO, Little Italy, NoLita, Lower Manhattan, etc.) The staff was pleasant and the free breakfast was enough to hold us until lunch. All in all we would recommend this hotel.
I was pleased with the facility and its location, both for its convenience to where I needed to go, and for reasonable and varied restaurant options nearby. I'd certainly recommend it, and would be pleased to stay there again.
The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was good with a pretty nice variety.
"Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel"
My husband and I moved out of NYC last year.We had lived in the city for the past 10 years. Since moving out of NYC we have stayed at the Best Western Bowery two times. When we come into the city to visit friends we stay downtown (Soho, East Village, LES, West Village) so the location of this hotel is perfect for us. It is in Chinatown so you do have […] the crowds and outside veg/fruit/fish markets up and down the streets. We do not stay in the area when we go out at night or even during the day but all the places we go to are with in walking distance so no need to even take the subway or a taxi, which adds to the convenience. T he room is small but clean and was a lot nicer than I expected. The furniture and the bed are very nice and modern as well. The bathroom is very nice, clean and modern too. The breakfast is fine. Nothing great but at least it is something. The one downfall is that both times we went we were given rooms on the 2nd floor. We were told that although we booked a queen size bed online we were being upgraded to a king size bed. The room would be on the 2nd floor (both times). The first time the noise outside was pretty loud at night when we were trying to sleep (around 1am). You can hear cars, buses, etc...which is pretty expected in NYC. It was fine. The 2nd time we stayed we were also "upgraded" and our room was on the 2nd floor ( a different room this time). Well this time the outside noise was SO loud! There was some sort of construction that had taken place and there was a huge steel structure on the road. Every single time a car, bus or truck ran over the structure it made a very loud noise. It was loud enough to wake me up although it did not bother my husband one bit. We did live in NYC for 10 yrs in many different apartments and we are used to the noise but this was a little louder and happened every few minutes or so. Overall I like this hotel a lot and the price can't be beat. I would possibly ask for a room on a higher floor next time Read more
