"Failed to impress"
Very expensive hotel, which fails to meet 5-star standards. The first thing I noticed was that there were no liners in the waste baskets. I have been to budget price hotels which line the was baskets with plastic liners. For some strange reason, this high-end hotel finds the necessity to 'penny-pinch' on such a item as can liners. Lastly, while i was taking a shower, someone was knocking at by door and ringing the door bell. Thinking it might be a emergency, i got out of the shower to check. A hotel employee was there asking if he could inventory the service bar. I told him'nothing has been used, his timing is bad, and he is disturbing my privacy. I stayed at the Dusit Thani for three days. After 2 days I did request a different room because the A/C was noisy and the humidity in the room was excessive. They repeatedly hassled my girlfriend, who was a registered guest. They would not let her call up to our room when she arrived, and the front desk called me instead. They just had orange juice & stayed 10 minutes before the closing time at 7:30 pm and we are being charged for $4,000.00. Our stay at Dusit Thani was flawless. The hotel itself if absolutely beautiful and the rooms are lovely, spacious and have comfortable beds. A little bit of luxury! The staff are so friendly and helpful and don't hover around always waiting for a tip like everyone else in the Philippines. The hotel is around the corner from greenbelt, glorietta, SM and Landmark, walking to the malls feels safe and is very easy. Also very close to the airport- we took both coupon and metered. If you are going from the hotel, make sure they put the meter on as it is less than 200php to get to the airport as opposed to the first day when the driver sold us 300php flat rate (which is only good if you get stuck in heaps of traffic).
