"Great people, good price, quiet and restful."
If you are staying in Cabo and want to be able to walk to the bar section and marina, but still want a nice quiet place. This is it. Nice sized room downstairs. No openable windows but AC and fan. Sit outside and have breakfast which is excellent. Upstairs rooms are actually open to the breeze, palapa style, so if the weather is decent they are wonderful. […] Really liked the place. Owner is an expat American and his wife. They called the day before to confirm my arrival and make sure the local taxi services didn't skin me alive. Greatly appreciated after having experienced a Cabo taxi ride sky high fare once in the past. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy Bed and Breakfast"
El Nido was beautiful and cozy! It is a bit off the main tourist drag but it is an oasis once you get inside. The owners were very accommodating and breakfast was delicious!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Cabo Spring 2014"
This is a charming B&B. I stayed in an open air room with a beautiful flower canopy. With in walking distance to the marina and downtown. A great place to relax. Wonderful breakfasts each day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Authentic and Quiet"
If you are looking for something away from the club scene of Cabo but still be walking distance to everything, this is your place. Gary and his wife are the best and the breakfast, complete with fresh sliced fruit, is the best in town. I ate with the locals a couple times and it wasn't as good as the breakfast served at this B&B.Genuine Expedia guest review

Fantastic Hotel - makes you feel like you are in a traditional Mexican mini village. Excellent breakfast and superb service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"we liked the gardens and the feel but not the room"
the reason we did not like the room is there was no windows and I like to see the morning light. I guess the palapa rooms would be best but we did not want to spend the extra money. breakfast was very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fun and friendly"
We had the room with the private jacuzzi. The room was unique, and beautiful. We loved the whole experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Absolutely amazing in every way"
El Nido was amazing. Although a bit difficult for our taxi to find, once there, we were greeted by the owners who were incredibly friendly and helpful. They clearly take great pride in their space. They showed us around the property, even showing off some of the other vacant rooms just to point out cool architectural aspects. We stayed in one of the […] open-air rooms, and words cannot express our satisfaction. Our room was very private and surprisingly quiet. We were staying in January so the temperatures were mild, and we weren't bothered much by bugs. While in El Nido, we mainly stayed to our room since we had a private hot tub. However, the whole space is amazing, boasting a cool common area downstairs with a bar as well as an upstairs patio with seating, a hammock, and a large hot tub that had we been traveling with friends, we definitely would have made use of. The breakfast, as other reviews have mentioned, is not to be missed. Very walkable to town. We will definitely be coming back. We were so pleased with our brief stay that we have already recommended El Nido to friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect and beautiful"
The hosts are amazing. The place is peaceful and gorgeous and the breakfasts are delicious and homemade. If I ever make it back to Cabo, I would only stay there. I loved every minute I spent in this little paradise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"El Nido Charmer"
Great out of the way location, easy walking distance to boutique restaurants and the harbor. Hosts were there at all times to take care of any and all questions. Parking in front so if renting a car no problems. Breakfast fresh cooked everyday and delicious. Stayed 5 nights and would stay there again and again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful hotel Close to Everything"
We started our stay in the downstairs rooms, but didn't like how closed-off they were, so we were able to easily move upstairs to the palapa rooms. It was just magical! We really enjoyed the light, the open air, and the breakfast was delicious.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you're looking for a bed and breakfast a little off the beaten path, this is it. Spend the night under the stars (and under a mosquito net) and have an amazing breakfast spread the next morning. Only a 5 minute walk from all the action, this hotel is a gem!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

El Nido is a beautiful place. The innkeepers went out of their way to help make our stay pleasant. Breakfast was yummy and made to order every day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A relaxing get a way...."
We were very happy with our choice to go away from the all inclusives and give a try to the little gem El Nido. Our time there was very restfull and the 20 minute walk to downtown and to the beaches was just close enough. Everything was very nice and our hosts were awesome. "Awsome Stay at the El Nido"
We travel to Cabo at least twice a year and normally stay at five star resorts. The El Nido is probably the coolest place we have ever stayed at. The Palapa rooms are beautiful and very relaxing. Gary and Sochi could not have been more accommodating. My wife and I highly recommend the El Nido.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is the perfect place to stay if you don't care about a swimming pool and are searching for Mexican ambiance. Our room was large with a comfortable bed. The courtyard, which we spent time in couldn't have been cuter. Very colorful with many places to sit and enjoy the sun and birds chirping. Breakfast was delicious with a varied menu to choose from. "a unique hotel. reccomended!"
With timeshares and condos abounding in cabo, el nido was an unexpected treat. Tucked away from the crazy downtown area but close enough to walk, it provided a tranquil, authentically mexican escape. We stayed in the palapa with the Jacuzzi tub and loved it. The room's ceiling was open (except for the palapa over your bed and bathroom) so you could […] see the stars and night. Breakfast was delicious (full meal not continental). Wifi included. Would reccomend for those travelers that like to travel a little off the beaten path and experience an environment that one cannot find in their home country. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We were blown away by El Nido. "The Perfect Cabo Bed And Breakfast"
This was one of the best bed and breakfast experiences I have EVER had. My wife and I loved it. The place was very beautiful with Mexican art, trees and birds filling the court yard and everywhere you look. Sochi makes fantastic breakfast and we really enjoyed Gary's ex-pat humor. "El Nido at Hacienda Escondida in Los Cabos"
This was the highlight of our stay! It is an oasis of beauty, charm, and culinary delight. It takes you back to the old world charm now so missing in los Cabos. We stayed in one of the 'room under the stars'. Half had a roof, (in case it rains) and the other was open to the beatiful peaceful night. Our hot tub was also 'outside. The accomodations include […] a full breakfest... made to order with local cooks who must spend every morning at the markets hunting for the freshest that Los Cabos offers. This is a REAL must see. en mis 62 anos y habiendo estado en un sin numero de hoteles en muchas ciudades del mundo (sin sonar presumido), el Nido es el lugar mas especial en el que he estado, la privacidad de las habitaciones que dan al aire libre es unica, puedo escribir por muy largo tiempo y solo deseo comentar que quien visite el nido y experimente una estadia alli va a […] tener una experiencia fantastica, exotica, agradable, armoniosa, de gran calidad de reposo y de mucho calor humano. todo todo todo es excelente!! jamas podre olvidar esta estadia y mi esposa y yo lo recomendamos como una de las cosas que mejor nos ha sucedido Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My girlfriend and I stayed here and absolutely loved it! So peaceful and unique! Xotchil and Gary were very accommodating and friendly! We enjoyed beautiful breakfast both days we stayed! Included breakfast, may I add! Only advice I'd share is make sure you use the included mosquito spray! The jacuzzi in the room was a godsend. We chose the palapa (outdoor) room, and it was just as described. Thanks a lot Gary and Xotchil!
"The ONLY place to stay in Cabo San Lucas for a warm friendly & authentic experience"
We love love love this place. Xochil, Gary & Jose have created the most perfect place to stay in Cabo. This is our second trip and we love it so much we will most definitely be back. Xochil goes out of her way to open her home and make it yours. She is truly one of the most welcoming and generous hosts you will ever meet. The property is beautiful, from the cobblestone paving, the flowers, the mangoes dripping off the trees and the light and airy rooms The only regret is that we ever have to leave!

My boyfriend and I have been going to this uniquely awesome B&B for years. Xochitl, Gary and Jose make you feel like family with the best service, food and accommodations. But there – that made it seem all formal, didn’t it? Which is exactly what they don’t do. They make it all seem easy and personal, like you’re visiting a friend’s home. A friend who knows when you need your privacy and when you want to chit-chat. You know, the best kind of friends. When you first walk through the courtyard door, it’s like you’re walking through to your perfect imagined Mexican paradise – like the movie set that never really exists. Only here it really does. Every inch is unforced perfection, which could be the tagline for the whole place. Now let’s talk about the food. I’m not a huge fan of American B&Bs with their lace and overwrought waffles and dainty coffee cups. But this is entirely different – chorizo scrambles, mushroom quesadillas, Mexican omelets and – this is addicting – homemade guac and salsa fresca every day. Yes, every day. Plus, fresh squeezed juice and fresh fruit. Hot coffee. I think I even saw some cinnamon buns put out last time. Xochitl will basically go to any lengths to make you happy, so if you want some eggs cooked to your liking, just ask. And, hang on, can’t believe I forgot to mention the potatoes: sliced, golden brown and studded with red peppers. They put hash browns to shame. The rooms are cozy and pretty. The palapa rooms make you feel like you’re sleeping outdoors with the birds, but protected from the mosquitoes and varmints. The big room even has its own Jacuzzi right under the stars. How nice is that? There’s also another outdoor Jacuzzi if you don’t score that particular room. We took my boyfriend’s parents this time and they totally fell in love as well. We all agreed it’s a complete waste to go somewhere as beautiful as Cabo and stay at some anonymous, douchey, all-inclusive high-rise. El Nido is special. Treat yourself.
"Beautiful premise, but avoid noisy rooms."
01/10/13 Tabibito_13 Boulder, Colorado
All the pics are no exaggeration, it's a beautiful, tastefully decorated place. However, we had to move to another hotel after few hours we checked in. The palapa rooms, 2nd Fl, facing the neighborhood rooftops below - though they have enough privacy with an open wall, soon we realized there are constant and loud traffic noise from nearby main road and all the life noises (shouting, kids, dogs, etc.) directly coming into the room. We were really tired from traveling and tried to take a nap, it was impossible. It was as if laying down next to a highway. There were earplugs in the room, but when the noise is so constant, it's not only a sleeping time issue. We can't have normal conversation wearing earplugs all the time. It's just not peaceful enough. I had a chance to visit other rooms - I believe downstairs rooms (no palapas) and upstairs room w/private hot tub should be quieter. We couldn't switch to these rooms since they were all taken. The owner couple was very kind and friendly. They told us the neighborhood is changing (busier). Very unfortunate.
"Treated like family"

This was our third stay at El Nido and we LOVE it!!!! I consider them like family and will continue to stay here every time we come to Cabo. Jose, Xochitl and Gary are amazing people and they treat you like gold! It feels like you are right at home! They deserve one million stars!!!! We'll be back again next December!
"The best B&B I have ever stayed at - Possibly the best hotel as well."

I have never submitted a more positive recommendation for any hotel in my life. I travel for work every week, to different places in the US and internationally, so I’ve stayed in my share of hotels. El Nido simply topped the scale! The entire place is beautifully decorated with a lot of care. Every single piece is unique by a local artist, and every single piece is essential to the decoration. The owners/designers really knew what they were doing. We stayed in the “palapa” room, which is half open and there is a mosquito net over the bed. It also has a private jacuzi in the bathroom, also half open. The owners were EXTREMELLY gracious, and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as they could. Free beers/water bottles every day, free breakfast cooked on demand by the owner, fresh fruit cut every day. The hotel has only 6 rooms, so you should be sure you will get the attention you need. It also has several common areas, like the huge jacuzi patio, 3 dinning rooms, a breakfast area, full service hair salon… I couldn’t recommend this place more, if it I could rate it with 1000 starts I would. Note that this is NOT a perfect-style resort. This is as authentic Mexico as you can get, as close as staying to your beautiful private hacienda in Cabo. You should expect a few bugs, some imperfections to the furniture, to the amenities, etc. just as you would in your own place.
"One of a kind"
10/20/12 John H Belmont, California, United States
Amazing property that offers a visit you won't find anywhere else. Stayed in an open room, and even with the temperatures staying close to 80 at night, it was comfortable thanks to the overhead fan. Only real problem was the private jacuzzi tub wasn't working, but with the place at about half occupancy, we pretty much had the main tub to ourselves anyway. Breakfast is made to order each morning with choice of omelette, chorizo scramble, etc.
"This is paradise...my favorite BnB so far!"
In amongst the madness of Cabo is a beautiful garden villa full of mango trees and paved courtyards. El Nido is the perfect escape from the township an easy 10minute walk from central Cabo San Lucas central. The hosts are lovely, breakfasts divine and the rooms are so pretty it's like sleeping in a garden. Loved it!!! Don't want to ever leave!

Travelled with my brother to Cabo and decided to mix things up a bit and do a B&B rather than the resort route and so glad we did. El Nido was truly otherworldly. It has a luminous mid-century Spanish style flair to it. Rustic runes and vibrant colours throughout. We stayed in the rooms with A/C and seriously had the best nights sleep in many moons. The location is only about a 10 minute walk to downtown and and a taxi to most places to and from was only $6. It's very quiet and away from all of the nightlife noise... The photo's do not do justice to their place. My brother will be posting some that he took with his professional camera... The roofdeck jacuzzi was such a nice bonus, especially after a day of activities on and near the water. The owners Gary and Sotchie (correctly spelled. It's not Xotchil) were unbelievably generous and accomodating to us. Juice, coffee and fruits magically appeared when I stepped out every morning. Gary is a hoot too.. I asked about that one bad review on here and couldn't help but laugh but also feel sorry for business owners like them. How do you reason with crazy? If only there was a better way to screen people like that and have the rooms suddenly all booked up :)
"Good location, wonderful atmosphere, great meals and company"

I had the most wonderful stay in Cabo this May. My hosts, Xotchil, Gary and Jose have done a huge effort to make my stay as pleasant as possible. These guys truly know how to please their guests, they offered help looking around town, showed me the best places to visit, were always available when needed, and Xotchil's homemade meals were just delicious. I would highly recommend this place to friends or relatives without any doubt and reading this site after my stay, it surprises me that there is even one negative review of El Nido.
