very busy reception desk with only one person staffing it when we checked in. Receptionist was constantly interrupted with phone calls, handing out golf clubs for mini-golf, etc. Returned later on, and asked questions about places to eat, buses to nearby attractions, and staff were generally unknowledgeable. We checked into the hotel at 3:15 pm expecting […] to get lunch (common in Spain). Got to the dining room at 3:30, and it was closed. There is no snack bar ( or bar) where one can get something to eat. Had to leave hotel to find something. VERY noisy. The hotel, from lobby to pool area, was crawling with children, and the poolside activites and music definitely catered to children. If you like music, ala, "The Hookey Pokey" blasting from loudspeakers until MIDNIGHT, then you'll be happy here. We had a bacony overlooking the pool and sea, but sitting out was not always as pleasant as it should have been. The facility is very nice, easy to walk to the beach, but service was lacking. Not too bad rooms but deeply unfurnished; too much empty space which doesn't welcome to stay. Regarding the cleanliness of the room, they just simply forgot to clean 1 day... and we stayed 4 nights. Even though my room overlooked the pool and outside bar/disco area, the noise level was acceptable. The food was plentiful and very good quality, well prepared and cooked. I only stayed one night but I would certainly stay there again.

Het was een rustige periode, dus niet veel te doen. Niet in het hotel als in de omgeving. Het enige wat zeer storend is, is de gehorigheid van de kamers. Als ook de geluiden die vanuit de hal komen; die dringen ook tot de kamers door.

Wir haben auf der Durchreise 3 Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht, für diesen kurzen Zeitraum war das Hotel OK, von einem längeren Aufenthalt dort würde ich abraten. Die 4 Sterne, die sich das Hotel gibt, sind völlig übertrieben. Das Hotel liegt zwar in Strandnähe, der Ort Retamar / El Toyo ist allerdings tot - nur Hotels, kaum Einheimische, keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten […] etc. weit und breit - ohne Auto ist man dort ziemlich aufgeschmissen. Die Zimmer waren zwar sauber, sind aber ziemlich abgenutzt und stark renovierungsbedürftig, vor allem das Bad - die Dusche war völlig verschimmelt. Positiv war, dass das Zimmer einen kleinen Kühlschrank und einen Balkon hatte. Leider erhielten wir trotz Reservierung eines Nichtraucherzimmers ein Raucherzimmer, in dem es stark nach kaltem Rauch roch. Schön ist das Hotel nicht, die Flure gleichen eher einem Gefängnis. Dafür ist die Poollandschaft sehr schön und großräumig; die Öffnungszeiten des Pools dagegen viel zu kurz. Bzgl. der Verpflegung im Hotel kann ich nichts sagen, da wir uns eigenständig versorgt haben. Die meisten Hotelbesucher hatten wohl ein All-Inclusive-Paket gebucht, ich habe mitbekommen, dass sich einige über das ständige Schlangestehen beschwert haben. Der Hotelstrand ist nicht sonderlich schön und sehr steinig - bei einem nächsten Urlaub würde ich unbedingt ein Hotel im Naturschutzgebiet Cabo de Gata (etwa 20 km weiter) vorziehen - dort gibt es wunderschöne und wenig frequentierte Strände. De balie enzo was ok. Maar als je bij de galerij komt om naar je kamer te gaan denk je dat je bij een gevangenis bent ipv een hotel. Er moeten alleen luikjes komen en het plaatje is compleet. Je kan daar nog lekker zitten met een wijntje s'avonds Het wordt er buiten wel goed schoongemaakt.Dat het hotel een ZOOVER prijs heeft gewonnen,is echt onbegrijpbaar. Het is er gehorig. Het verdient geen 4 sterren , maar een 3 sterren. Het heeft echt een renovatie nodig. Wij waren naar de sportschool gegaan. Maar de toestellen waren erg gammel. Je kunt ook naar het binnenzwembad,maar dan moet je een basmuts op. In het buitenzwembad hoeft dat niet. Ontbijt regelde we zelf. Dus daar kan ik geen oordeel over geven. Read more
