The location and room for a great price. If you can get breakfast included, it is awesome. Paying for the breakfast buffet separately is super pricey, but you get one of the best breakfasts around for big eaters.

The hotel is in a great area in Myeong-dong. It may seem a little sketchy to the wary traveler since it is usually empty at night and surrounded with local businesses. This was a great hotel, with a beautiful room. The only down side was it was a bit hard to find from the train, especially since I don't know Korean. The hotel is a bit off the main street, about a ten minute walk from the train. Not bad, but not great. But the hotel itself was fantastic.

We stopped in Seoul for three nights on the way back from a trip in New Zealand. Had low expectations, but were positively surprised. Excellent willing to serve and help with anything. Their English is mediocre to say the least. Hotel is located in a very good spot of Seoul.

We stayed here because it had 3 single beds (triple room). Most of the hotels do not have triple rooms (3 beds). This was the only hotel in center of seoul with 3 single beds with reasonable pricing. Overall experience was pleasant. I would stay here again. The dark alley is not horrible. It's only 5 mins walk and close to subways. We walked to meong-dong […] from hotel at night. The walk was about 15 mins. No need to be afraid of the "dark alley" - people will not bother you. The surrounding area is indeed kinda dirty. If surrounding area was clean, I would have gave 5 rating. Think of it as just experiencing different areas. Not all areas of seoul is clean - just people living. Overall hotel was pleasant. Nice, clean, affordable hotel without unnecessary facilities such as a pool and gym, allowing the price to be lower than other hotels with these facilities. Just a couple of minutes on foot to the subway and airport bus. Very central and convenient.

Airport limousine bus $10 dropped us off at Chungmuro Station (The subway trains are fantastically easy to navigate). Bus driver pointed us in the direction to walk. Was prepared to walk long alley in business district area based off other reviews. We walked straight to the street's end and did not know whether to go right or left. A business store […] owner drew a simple map showing we needed to go 15-20 steps to the right then left again to continue straight - which brought us to the real covered alley which led straight to the hotel. Later we learned that it is a straight block (covered alley) to Chungmuro station, we just went to the left of the Kia car dealership versus the right. Staff was very pleasant, spoke basic English, and hotel was exceptionally clean. We were the only Americans there that I noticed during our 8-day stay. Most guest were Asian descent mostly from Japan. The shuttles were great - took us to Chungmuro station quickly if we were too lazy to walk 1.5 blocks ourselves. Shuttles went to Myeondong Station, Namdaeum Market (Shinsegye Dept Store), LOTTE Dept Store and Dongdaemun Market. Often, we walked straight to the markets. We walked to the N. Seoul Tower which is straight up from Shinsegye on our own and made a day of it by eating lunch there. Ate at hotel twice. We ate from local restaurants&street vendors using their pictures and/or English. We speak no Korean and did great! Hotel called the Tour Buses for us which picked up/dropped off at PJ Hotel. Great hotel. Modern, clean, great in-room wifi. There was a mini fridge. A very nice bathroom. Not sure how much English was understood at the front desk as my son speaks Korean and did all the talking. Good buffet breakfast for 22,000 WON ($21 US). There are convience stores along the side of the hotel. Hotel has a nice coffee shop. Nothing opens early […] and there is no place to get coffee or anything to eat before 7am. The only negatives were that the neighborhood was very run down, very far from a metro stop, no guest laundry, no fitness center, no pool. Hotel is very nice but location is somewhat in the middle of slightly rundown area. Very good courtesy shuttle bus sending you to interested shopping points up to 02:00 A.M. . Airport pick up/drop off bus station and subway are quite close. Good staffs. Fairly good restaurants around in 5 minute walk.

The room and bathroom looked really clean, but one night a cockroach ran under the bed. When I looked under the bed, I found a piece of a condom wrapper. Both things were quite disgusting. The hotel is very nice, the staff were polite. The location is close to shopping, taxi will cost less then $3-4 to Myeongdong, and the near by street markets. FYI take ride the silver or orange taxi's, they're the cheapest. The hotel shuttle to these area's were convenient, it will also stop at the bus stop so you can catch the airport bus. Hotel PJ is very close to the green line (transfers to both orange and blue lines there too, I believe), traditional Korean restaurants and beer halls, and within walking distance to Myeong-Dong, Namdemun and Dongdemun Markets. The room we were in could have used an update and new paint, but it was comfortable. We had the triple room (three single beds) and there was a little work area there as well. Very nice toiletries and tea/coffee in the room. Staff was willing to help, but there were no fluent English speakers when we asked about the movie theater or late check out. I would recommend the hotel to a friend if it was a good price - but probably not at the price we paid for the room. This is a great hotel. My only comment is that if you take the bus from the airport and you don't speak Korean it's difficult to find. I only did by luck. The room is big, the breakfast's are great and the service is top-notch.

While not located in the best neighborhood. it was quite easy to get to and from Incheon Airport...a bargain at $10 /person. The shuttle really helps in getting to the shopping districts and keeps to their schedule very promptly. The walk from the bus stop to the hotel is not the greatest if you have a lot of baggage.

I was impressed with the room newness and good features for the budget value. Very clean. Good location with a quick ride to the subway. Breakfast was okay. Air conditioning was not available, explained as not normally needed in mid-May, but the temps in the room passed 30 degrees C (86 degrees F) in the afternoon and night time temps never fell below 26.4 degrees. The Hotel is unfamiliar, no public area for spending some time. Its vicinity and surroundings includes ugly unpleasant shops, and many ugly buildings, small uninviting businesses. The approach is difficult. No proper entrance. Its restaurant was close on our arrival day because of a wedding that took place. We were misleading by a positive but false […] recommendation. Its middle location can’t compensate for the ugly vicinity and cold and unattractive rooms. Don’t pay more than 100 $. We are a couple, stayed 2 nights, which we could not cancel. Excellent hotel. Higher price than we normally spend but glad we put out the money. Hotel breakfast buffet was the most sophisticated we have ever had--and we have been to some champion breakfast buffet countries such as Brazil and China! Room was large with king and a double bed, plus two desks, and a balcony overlooking Nansam Hill. Can walk to all […] the main tourist sites. Three subways on three lines within two blocks, and there is an hourly hotel shuttle if you can't walk that far. From the airport, take Line 5 to Euljio-4 station, Exit 10 and walk a block south and a block west. Neighborhood seems to be Seoul's printing and office supply area (think Office Depot split into a thousand separate stores, with some bits of Home Depot thrown into the mix) but don't let that put you off. The only disappointment with this hotel was the lack of communication before arrival. Emailed the hotel at the addresses given on their website, but never received a reply. One unanswered question was the check in time (it turned out to be 12:00 noon) Arrived in the morning and had to wait until 1pm until the room was ready. The hotel is immaculate, the staff unfailingly helpful and courteous. Located 3 blks from Chungmuro subway station (line 4 exit #8; also an airport bus stop). Hotel has a courtesy van (looks like a mini tourbus) that will pick you up at the station. Neighborhood is quiet, clean, and tourist free. Numerous restaurants and coffee shops on the road around […] the station. Beds were American kingsize and comfy. Several room layouts, one of which has somewhat cramped closet access. Each room has a PC, but are locked to Korean for command prompts etc. Bathrooms in rooms. Female contingent really appreciated the high-tech, heated toilet seats? Only complaint was that the shower/tub clearance was only 6'3". Hotel restaurant is quasi-permanently closed. Sunday brekkie buffet (PJ Cafe) only prepares buffet foods as they run out, so go early or be prepared to make multiple passes to get fed. There are three routes north from the subway/bus stop to the hotel. If you follow the street, go north to the next light then down a block to the right. Otherwise walk 20m east to airport bus stop and follow the yellow bricked pedestrian path straight to the hotel. Visit middle path (shopping alley) later. Read more

Stayed at the PJ while in Seoul and this hotel and its location worked great for us (2 late 20s Canadians, 1 male 1 female). Located about a block north of the #8 exit of the Chungmuro station it's quick and easy to get around the city. The only problems I had was I found the bed to be a lot stiffer then the usual hotel beds I'm use too, and being that I'm over 6ft tall I didn't exactly fit in the shower. The free shuttle bus can get you to the nearby shopping and dinning area which is very convenient. The family room with one double bed and one single bed allow us to check in 2 adults and 2 small kids easily.
