The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast consisted of eggs, cold meat, cereal and fresh baked croissants. This hotel is great value! It is a 10 minute walk from the Mestre bus/train station, next door to a supermarket and close to kebab/pizza restaurants and some pubs. It is very easy to get into central Venice. There is a bus right across the street that comes every 10 mins and takes about 12 mins to get to the main bus station in Venice. It costs a little over a euro one way and you can get the ticket at the reception (along with vaporetta tickets). Keep in mind though that st.mark's square is about a 35 min walk from Piazalle Roma ( the bus station). Unless you want to lug your bags through the narrow, busy streets and (many) staircases of Venice and pay a fortune for a dump, I would recommend staying in the Mestre area and this hotel was great value for the money.

We stayed 1 night only and were very happy with the hotel. Dont forget to get you key from Hotel Luca as the Casa Dolce has no reception. The feeling of the hotel is as you were resident of Venice. We highly recommend it.

San Marco (St Mark’s) is quintessential visitors’ Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. Less than 5 minute walk to San Marco Plaza. However there are a lot of stairs without elevator. The hotel is very clean and people are friendly and helpful. The single room is very small. A great hotel for the location.

This hotel was perfect for us. It was in a nice location and the room was one of the nicer ones on our 2 week tour of Italy. My only complaints are the smell of the bathroom piping (but Ithink that is just Venice), and the cleaning ladies never replaced our comforter after we spilt something on it. "non corrisponde alle aspettative"
Mi dispiace dover dare una recenzione così negativa sull'hotel mercurio, le stanze non sono lontanamente corrispondenti a quelle visualizzabili sul sito; esse sono piccolissime, poco confortevoli ed anche con visuali a dir poco scomode dal momento che la mia stanza dava sul cortile di una casa privata, e quella dei miei amici su un ristorante con rumori […] continui di stoviglie e vociare di gente fino a tarda notte, Non parliamo poi dei bagni, con docce da terzo mondo piccole e in condizioni di funzionamento precarie,a dir poco,e bidè molto scomodi posizionati sotto la finestra. L'unica nota relativamente positiva è il suo posizionamento a poca distanza dai luoghi di interesse culturale. Altra cosa da segnalare la presenza di molte scale e la indisponibilità del personale a portare le valige sino alla stanza assegnata. Read more

Perfect location. Really 5 minutes from San Marco, and the Vaporetto (boat bus) and the felles boat to the airport. This hotel is perfect to visit Venezia. You are a walk away from the nicest and always close enough to come back and rest. The hotel is aswell 1 minute away from the Opera house square where you will find 3 restaurants with terrasse (rare […] in Venezia). The staff was always friendly & willing to help. Clean and basic hotel, good value, quiet, perfect location, friendly staff.
