"Adorable B&B in old New England"
We really enjoyed our stay at The Maples. If you enjoy the charm and relaxed atmosphere of a B&B, you will love The Maples. Cheryl, the proprietor, is really laid back and friendly. And the Maples is dog friendly!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Earnest Effort, Not Quite There Yet"
the host was very friendly and is a recent newcomer to the business, but: the rooms are poorly laid out, the place needs a lot of work (restoration -- it is old), the beds suck (literally; they are so mushy that you sink in rather than support), the food is variable (excellent one day, not so good the next). The bathroom is large, but poorly set up […] for travellers (no counter space), the hot water quit after one of us showered -- a bit of a rude awakening. I am sure that after a bit of work, this will be a lovely place to stay, but it's not there yet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved the dogs with personality that every B&B Must have. Host was very accomodating, rooms and especaillly the ned were very comfortable. WE will stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very enjoyable. Cheryl was very gracious and she has remodeled the house to charm and comfort. The dogs - lots of them - were entertaining and a pleasant surprise. I would recommend that guests be alerted to their presence in advance. Frank and Nancy RemdeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our stay at the Maples on 9/28/2013"
When we arrived we were met by Keith who was very friendly and showed us to our room and offered us beverages. We sat for awhile in the cozy livingroom and chatted with Keith and a guest. Our room was comfortable. The only recommendations I would make would be to add a stool to get into the very tall bed and also a shelf in the bath to put toilitries […] when getting dressed. Cheryl made a very nice breakfast with fresh fruit, pancakes and a quiche. We thorougly enjoyed the meal and visiting with the other guests. They had a full house and I give Cheryl credit for being cool and collected making all those breakfasts almost at once. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful B & B"
Cheryl's got a lovely B & B!! Its a great spot on the main drag, just a few houses beyond the center of town. We had a beautiful and clean room with a king size four poster bed with nice heavy linens, with an en suite bath and great breakfast. There are 2 old friendly dogs and nice orange cat - fyi, in case you're allergic. Shoot her a message to let […] her know if you want 2 twins or a king, she says her reservation system doesn't allow her to contact you to find out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Keep going back ..."

Since our visit in February 2014 and my previous review, fortunately nothing has changed at Maples at Warner. The place has remained as charming and welcoming as we found it when we first arrived. In fact, the most accurate and straight review of the Inn might sound like this: The Maples at Warner is a place where people keep coming back. That is to say, once you got there chances are you will return, which is what we have kept doing since 2011. There has never been any inquiry related to vacation activities, places to visit or hiking paths, eateries in the area, that Cheryl left unanswered, and no advice that we regretted asking for. Very supportive and helpful, she has a gift for knowing what you are looking for after 2 min of talking, she is also very knowledgeable and loves both two- and four-legged, well behaved, guests. If you want to visit and get acquainted with New England city life style there are always Concord and Manchester, 20 and 30 miles, respectively, away from Warner, where you can eat great food from sustainable local sources and you can also sample the tasteful NH and New England craft breweries. You might want to visit Boston, or go to Portsmouth and walk along the beach, or maybe hike Kearsarge Mt. or the incredibly beautiful White Mountains Forest area, or go for shopping to Tilton, Kittery or North Conway. Just choose any or all of the above, then come back to the Inn in the evening for quiet and restful nights and delightful breakfasts. For dining we highly recommend The Barley's House, in Concord. After dining there 5 or 6 times, I think we qualify as true fans of the pub. We have never been disappointed or had enough of it. Every time we go to Maples at Warner we 'dedicate' at least one evening to Barley's ... We've slept in almost every room at Maples at Warner, and I confirm that all beds are clean, inviting and comfortable. The Inn's keeper knows how important quality night sleep is, especially when one is away from home, so she doesn't compromise on mattress and bedding quality. One thing I have never appreciated when travelling was cheap mattress and bedding, so I am trying to be careful to details every time I am booking accommodation in order to avoid subsequent frustrations. You'll never find cheap mattresses, bedding or bathroom amenities at The Maples at Warner, and we really appreciate Cheryl's effort and eye for these things. We really love the feather beds and down comforters. Can't emphasize enough how restful is our night sleep at the Inn, no exception. Rooms 1, 2, 4 and 5 are our favourite, but the entire Inn is quiet, clean and friendly. Cheryl's dogs are also friendly and well behaved. As the cats' lovers and parents that we are, we love the Inn's cat, Mojo - smart, full of energy and sociable in her own terms, a lovely reddish tabby precious young furry baby ... There are no two rooms alike, each of them has its own design and personality, and almost all have en-suite bathrooms. There is wi-fi in every room, and it works beautifully. Also, there are window A/C's in all rooms. The bathrooms are large and clean, bath tubs and shower cabins well maintained and cared for, the hot/cold water is running at high pressure for a feel-good shower, all rooms have individual heating switch and all warm up in no time. There is even a water filter in the kitchen downstairs for people who would prefer to drink filtered water. Parking space is in the side yard, quite large and away from the street. The area is very quiet and there is good phonic isolation inside the building. Rooms are located in such a way that everyone's privacy and rest are protected. We like to sleep late in the morning, but have never been bothered or even heard early-birds guests having breakfast, even when we slept in the rooms downstairs situated in the vicinity of the kitchen and the living room. Either in summer, foliage season or in winter, this place is equally comfortable, charming, accessible and suitable for all categories of travellers, families with or without kids, with or without dogs, young and elders, everybody who appreciates good taste, simplicity, peace of mind and the presence of a charismatic, heart and soul, caring and knowledgeable hostess.

I much enjoyed my stay here while visiting Concord. Cheryl was gracious and sent me to a great restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was delicious. I met a couple from the Netherlands who'd seen more of the U.S. than I had (that's why I stay at B&Bs). Thanks!

We took two rooms at the Maples while attending a wedding nearby. Cheryl was very friendly and helpful. Nice casual atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable. One had a private bath, the other a shared bath. Cheryl cooks a delicious breakfast then you're ready to go. We enjoyed a hike at a nearby mountain and also explored the shops and Saturday farmer's market which are just a block or two away from the B&B.

We stayed one night this month on a semi business trip. We had the downstairs BR with an in room bath. It was a very comfortable bed. Could have used another light in the room for reading. Overall a nice Inn with a good breakfast. Cheryl is very friendly and we enjoyed the short stay. Another suggestion would be to have a few outside chairs for guests to sit and read in the side or front yard. We had our own, so it was not a problem and if you are young enough laying on the grass was an option. But, I could lay down, it's getting back up that's the extra effort!
"Great little B&B for the price!"

Super cute with easy access to the interstate. Not stuffy you feel like you have known the owner, Cheryl, for years! Each of the 6 rooms are decorated differently. Each has its own dedicated bathroom. Owner has two dogs and a cat but all animals are well behaved. No central a/c as this place was built in 1800's but rooms do have window a/c units! If you want an informal inn this is it!

Our room and our hostess combined for a fantastic trip to NH from NYC. I felt like a welcome houseguest and also received the local 411 too maximize my vacation time. Since my first visit I have been back twice and made a personal connection. Top Recommendation!

It was a pleasure to stay with CJ. She was quick to respond to my last minute booking. I enjoyed the conversations we had. She's a funny lady. I hope we can talk more if I get a chance to make it back there. Her dogs were the most well mannered boys and very cute. The bed was super comfortable. It made me think about buying a new mattress when I got back home. You won't regret staying with her. The place was very clean and pretty. I'll certainly see if she has a room available the next time I'm in the area.

I had just reached Warner, New Hampshire en route from Portland to Burlington when the snow started falling thick and fast. The road crews weren't yet out and cars were sliding off the highway. It was time to seek a berth for the night. Luckily Maples at Warner popped up at the top of the list on my internet search. Cheryl had a room and a warm welcome for me, introducing me to her friendly Labs and inviting me to help myself to a cookie and a beverage. Over the course of the next 20 minutes, other stranded travelers came in, stomping snow from their boots and shedding coats and mittens. We were all warmly received and invited to share in a delectable lasagne that she had just taken from the oven. A generous breakfast of pancakes, sausage, fruit, and homemade pumpkin bread awaited us next morning. I set off into the bright day, happier for my unplanned night at Maples. I recommend it enthusiastically! Cheryl is a great host and the place is lovely.

Cheryl was the perfect host for my atypical B&B stay. Had an exam in Concord the next day-used the wifi to access online review materials, studied in the parlor in peace, went on a beautiful walk in the neighborhood, and she packed me a breakfast the next morning, including "to-go" coffee which I consumed on the way to my early-morning exam. Looking forward to coming back during ski season.

Since we had never stayed in a B and B, and very much wanted to share that experience, my boyfriend and I were glad to find Maples at Warner. I am very much a "foodie" and contacted Cheryl ahead of time to figure out where to have dinner that night. She confirmed that one of my choices was amazing, and offered to help with any other concerns. When we arrived, the cookies were fantastic, and she gave us a tour of the rooms. We chose the downstairs bedroom with the bathroom attached--a good choice. My boyfriend had the best night sleep in quite some time! We awoke early, and Cheryl fixed us apple nutty pancakes and local sweet chicken sausage. They were amazing! After chatting with other guests, and seeing the dogs and one coddled cat, we packed up and headed out for more adventures. This is definitely a dog friendly environment, and I would not advise staying her if you are not a dog lover. Thanks to Cheryl's recommendations, we had another great meal on the drive back to Boston. Yes to Bed and Breakfasts!!! And, thanks Cheryl for making it a wonderful experience. By the by, if you are bargain conscience, check out craigslist New Hampshire and enter in Wrner in the vacation option for the best rates.
