"Nice B&B for Fall Foilage Vacation"
Sunny Grange B&B was a good location for our fall foilage vacation in New Hampshire. The breakfasts prepared by our hostess Tami were fantastic. Felt Sunny Grange was a good value.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great rooms and yummy breakfasts!!"
There was not much to actually do in Campton but it was nearby everything you would want to do in the area. We were very impressed with Sunny Grange and I would definitely stay there againGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice and relaxing. Close to park we visited."
Breakfast was exceptional. Had a good night's stay. Would tell others to stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Tami made us feel at home and was very responsive to our needs. She was trained at a culinary institute and prepared excellent breakfasts. Conveniently located in a historic little town close to Squam Lake (where On Golden Pond was filmed), it was perfect for a memorable romantic getaway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is not a hotel to check-in. Its a home-away-from-home. Cozy bedroom and bath facilities. In room laundry and amazing breakfasts by Tami. Totally loved this experience. Absolute Recommend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The B & B was great, enjoyable breakfast with very nice selection. Tara was just a super person. Place was clean from head to toe.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a charming bed and breakfast inn with nice local character. The innkeeper provided a really great home cooked breakfast, and our room featured charming amenities such as afternoon Sherry and terrycloth bathrobes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay"
B&B was welcoming, warm, and comfortable. Atmosphere was relaxed. Everything was clean and neat. All needs were met; they thought of everything. Owner polite and friendly - cooked us a great breakfast. If I had any complaint at all it would be the street noise just because we are not used to it where we live, but you can hardly fault the B&B for that, […] and really, it's just traffic noise. Would not hesitate to stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"First B&B, loved it!"
We were lucky, we had the entire house to ourselves so it felt like a home away from home. Nice cozy old fashioned setting just made it that much better but with all the modern conveniences. If you forgot something (ex. toothbrush) they had it all there just incase. loved it. Thanks again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sunnt Granger B and B"
We enjoyed our stay for the most part. Since we left early 2 of the mornings to go skiing we didn't have breakfast. On the final morning the breakfast was excellent as was our hostess. Our only issue was having to trapes through the snow upon our arrival and the next morning having to shovel ourselves out to our car to go skiing. Being a ski town B […] and B I would think snow is expected and undersood the guests would want to hit the moluntain early. They could've done a better job of snow clearing. "Fantastic bed and breakfast for a weekend in NH"
This great B&B was a perfect respite from our city life. It was easy to find, had all the amenities you could reasonably want and excellent french toast and belgian waffles. The latter part can't be underestimated - that french toast and belgian waffles was the best I've had in a long while. Seriously. If the Sunny Grange is anywhere near your next […] NH vacation, do yourself a favor and stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome place to stay!"
Unfortunately, we stayed in this B&B only for 1 night. But I could have easily just stayed there for a week or so. I found the place very relaxing and cozy and would definitely recommend it to anyone! Room was clean and comfy but didn't lock from the outside which I was ok with. Coffee, tea, cold drinks, wine and snacks are always available in the living […] room and dining room area and you are encouraged to make yourself feel at home. I really liked that! Breakfast was very yummy and prepared on demand and according to your preferences. I would definitely recommend the Sunny Grange B&B! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Bed and Breakfast Highly Recommend"
Delightful, New England flavor bed and breakfast. Attention to minute details made this the best visit to a bed n' breakfast. Of note, additions of a night cap of port in antique glasses, to the detailed New England decor showed what intricate attention to decor the owners take. Each room has a flavor of its own, one with a porch, our room #2 had a […] private dressing room with an extra day bed and jacuzzi. An antique makeup table with all necessary items was an added luxury. Nicely folded, comfy terri robes welcomed us. Breakfast was delicious with eclectic around the world conversation where we met couples from DC, Virginia, Spain. Wine supplied with snacks in the living room. Small tvs in rooms. Only downside was loud airconditioner fan and the church bell ringing at 9am on Sunday morning, but I guess if you are in for the New England small town experience, it goes with the theme. Nice romantic setting, if somewhat close to neighboring rooms for sound. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean and friendly hotel"
Nice enough place, with very friendly staff, but the pillows were too high and we ended up with a stiff neck. Convenient location and quiet enough, ...comparable price, but not much in the way of decorating (lots of white walls). Nice amenities like a bottle of wine in the living area, and some snacks, and big fluffy robes waiting on the bed. Our room […] was not large, but everything we needed was available, and the scrambled eggs were made while we watched. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great choice. Like other reviewers, surprised to find the whole place open, and with a note to tell us our room with and and snacks and drinks left out for us. The breakfast was great and our hostess lovely. Bathrobes were great. Only small snag, with no-one around, we had no guidance as to local restaurants, and made a poor choice!Genuine Expedia guest review
Alles in allem: rundum wohlgefühlt.

My daughters and I arrived to a comfortable home with a welcome note on the counter and snacks complete with wine waiting in the living room. Our room was perfect for the three of us and the best part was we had our own private bathroom! Campton is a quiet town so getting a good nights rest was very easy. We all enjoyed waking up to the heavenly aroma of coffee, bacon, and baked goods. Tami had wonderful breakfast entrees and great conversation too. I would go back in a heart beat, as well as, highly recommending this B & B to anyone!
"Relaxing with charm"
01/22/13 Brett K Boston, Massachusetts
We booked a last minute trip to do some skiing over MLK weekend. It was much more economical to stay at the Sunny Grange then at the mountain and we got a delicious breakfast to boot! We had a lovely time at the Sunny Grange. I think the atmosphere is what you expect at a B & B. There is an element of trust and comfort with the doors being unlocked and no one to greet you if you arrive late. However, if you stay at enough bed and breakfasts. you realize that this is not uncommon and there is a charm to it. The house is charming with lots dated charm. It could use a bit of a facelift in some areas and the dining area is small. Our room was a large suite with a sitting room with a daybed and a king sized master. The bedroom was chilly but a space heater was perfect. There was some road traffic noise but it did not bother me much. The bathroom was adequate for our needs. Tami was charming and we appreciated her hospitality
"Lovely and homey"
06/03/12 Sam_Derweesh Boston, Massachusetts
We arrived, as seems to be the case for everyone, to an empty house with a note, some yummy apple scones and lots of snacks. Our room was ready for us and Tami was there early morning to greet us and make a delicious breakfast. Beds were super comfy, all amenities covered and we left without a single complaint. Its not a high-end place to stay but it was super sweet, cute and so comfy. The doors do stay open overnight (unless you want to lock them, which we did) but I don't think safety needs huge concern in the little town. There were about 3 good restaurants nearby; all local. I would definitely recommend this place. Also, loved the VHS selection!
"Nice Inn, Cool Innkeepers, Chill trip"
01/23/12 palesnowrider1 Boston, Massachusetts
We arrived to find the place open and the inn keepers away. Lots of extras offered - wine, snacks, soft drinks and sherry in our room. The room was great, lots of mirrors. Small TV with a bunch of VHS to choose from. How retro! Two extra soft robes waited for us. I forgot my toothbrush. They had everything you might have forgotten for us - razors, deodorant, tooth paste, you name it. Tami was great, serving us a nice breakfast in the morning and spending just the right amount of time with us. Overall, a great stay at the foot of Waterville Valley at a good price.
"Don't let the website fool you"
11/08/11 Dims57 London
Upon arrival, the exterior of the B&B is very shabby, overgrown and unkept. Its not entirely clear where you should park and we wheeled our suitcases over mud before reaching the overgrown path. We arrived at about 4ish to find a note on the counter to welcome us. There was also an overwhelming smell of very ripe bananas from an old fruit bowl which was unpleasant! We figured out which room was ours after wandering around and then wondered what to do! There is nobody to welome you to the B&B, the doors are all left unlocked, there are no keys. This is a huge security risk for an unattended house even if the village is safe, especially with tourists staying with large bags and valuables. Campton is tiny and in the middle of nowhere so there was nobody to ask where to go, or local leaflets for restaurants or anything. We actually looked at tripadvisor on our phones to see what the reviews said about this place and luckily we read the review that said the host doesn't show up until the morning, which was nice to know. If this had been made clearer we would have felt more at ease. We ended up staying in and not going out because the weather was awful although the next night we did find a bar within walking distance. There was some wine left for us which was a nice touch. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep at all, the bed so so soft and squidgy it was really uncomfortable, the location of our room in the middle of a road intersection meant every passing car on each side of the room was very loud through the thin windows, the blinds let in a lot of light, and the emply unlocked house freaked me out! I was so tired when we checked out from lack of sleep. The bathroom did have a jacuzzi bath which we didn't use because it was old and needed new sealant, it had definitely seen better days. The light in the bathroom blew while we were there and despite asking twice for it to be fixed, it never was. In the morning, Tami was a lovely host who cooked a great breakfast. The next evening we ended up having to welcome 3 couples who arrived and explain the set up and show them their rooms. One couple didn't speak much English so it was quite difficult to explain that it wasn't our B&B! With all the rooms fully booked not everyone could fit round the table at breakfast, which Tami sort of ignored, so other guests tried to find chairs and without being successful, this made for a somewhat awkward atmosphere with one man standing watching us eat so he could then have his breakfast! We felt a bit duped by the snazzy website and the high room prices, which are overpriced for what it is. Although Tami is a lovely person with a young family that live off site, this B&B really needs someone who is there for more than what seems like 2 hours a day. We wouldn't stay here again.

It was strange arriving to an unlocked house with a note. Host arrived in the morning to cook breakfast and she did a great job, even giving us a choice of 3 different items. Delicious breakfast and helpful host. Place was comfy and overall clean.
Tami is an awesome host and great cook. My bed was very comfy. I stayed 3 nights in September and the price was reasonable. That being said, now the down side. There was no staff/host living on site during my stay. The house is left unlocked at all times. I am a solo traveler and when I arrived in the evening there was no one there. It was a bit unsettling. I would prefer more security.
"The home away from home I wish I had"
10/04/11 MrsMEG Essex
This B&B is less polished than most, and I can agree many of the comment of previous reviewers, there are some failings, in lack of welcome and general scruffy exterior and slightly grubby interior common rooms. However the feel of the place is great, the owner is charming welcoming and cooks a mean breakfast. Although she was not there to receive us the note of welcome (to say nothing of the wine and nibbles!) overcame that unusual start. There was an unexpected heatwave at the time we were there and the air conditioning was woefully inadequate in our first floor bedroom. This is not a place for the dedicated hotel goer but a wonderful place for anyone wanting to get a truer feeling for home Campton style. I loved it!
"Fantastic B&B! Loved the Sunny Grange"
09/04/11 MadelineNewYorkCity New York City
This cozy B&B is a great place to stay in Campton, NH. The house is about 200 years old and in pristine condition. Very comfortable and imaculately clean. We arrived at 1am and our gracious host had left us a note with our room assignment. We went upstairs to find our room - which was pleasant, adorned with cognac, cable tv, & terry cloth bathrobes. It was not to fancy, no frills, very simple & nice. Comfortable bed. The host, Tami made an impressive breakfast the first morning. A graduate of the prestigious Institute of Culinary Education in NYC, she made Grand Mariner OJ French Toast. The following morning, she out-did herself with Peaches and Cream Pancakes made with fresh peaches from the peach tree outside the kitchen window. It was divine & Tami was very friendly and helpful. The Sunny Grange is within walking distance of the Campton Cupboard general store. I would love to stay there again.
"Superb host vs unmaintained farmhouse"
08/31/11 Spiffnme Los Angeles, California
Kudos to whoever set up their website, as the very clean, professional look of the website is what drew me to this place. Unfortunately that clean professional look ends at the web. As we pulled up to the driveway we were greeted by overgrown weeds and a horribly weathered "Welcome" sign. Not a great start. The house was open and a note was left on the kitchen counter greeting us and letting us know where our room was. As we arrived late, I was expecting this. When we entered our room (#5) it's a typical cozy country cabin style. Nothing fancy, just what you'd expect from an 1811 farmhouse. We chose this particular room for its own private bathroom/shower. That's where things really had us scratching our heads. There's what can only be described as a "secret door" on the wall that leads to the bathroom. It only has a drawer handle to open it, and has no lock or handle at all from the inside! The inside of the door was a thick silver coated foam core - completely unacceptable for a B&B. The shower was stained from age, the floor was water damaged. It looked as though this shower was a DIY add-on from about 20 years ago and was done by someone that's not so handy. Very disappointing. Our room was on the ground floor and had a door leading out to a deck. Sounds nice, right? I could have been, had the deck been maintained. It was in need of a fresh coat of paint/stain, and had weeds growing up through the decking. The other issue with being on the ground floor is privacy. There were windows facing the driveway/street with blinds that wouldn't pull down. After exploring our room we ventured out into the rest of the house. The kitchen, while ok if it were not open to the rest of the house for guests to see IS open, and again simply not maintained. The soap dispenser on the sink was broken and covered in spilled soap. Not a big deal, but looks very unprofessional. The dining room is very nice and the table had fresh fruit available at all times. The living room is also very nice, with lots of brochures for local activities. Quiet music played from the PC in the corner which was available for use. Note, while wifi is available, depending on where your room is, you may not get a strong (or any) signal. Sadly, our room was on the other side of the house and my tablet couldn't get a signal. It worked fine if closer to the PC. Our first night in bed was a disappointment as well. The bed has zero support (not overly soft, just lacking in support). The headboard doesn't fit the bed correctly and leave a gap at the top of the bed which your pillow easily falls through. The bedding was clean, soft and comfortable though. So what about the breakfast? Soooo good! Tami had coffee and delicious banana/apricot bread ready each morning. Our first day we opted for a straight forward meal of eggs and bacon. Both were fresh and cooked to perfection. (perfection for bacon in New England is CRISPY. If you want it still soft, you'd better speak up!) Our second breakfast I opted for the Grand Marnier French toast. So good! Tami was very friendly and chatted with us each morning. A terrific host. As far as her service is concerned the only thing I'd add is more info for local dining. Particularly in the evening; Campton is a TINY town, there's not much available, so some local insight would have been extremely helpful. We didn't think to ask in the mornings, and Tami wasn't around in the evenings. We stayed at a B&B in France one time which was also in a small town. The hosts there had printed out directions to many of their own personal favorite dinner spots. We found that extremely useful. So...bottom line? A wonderful host, with superb breakfast in a charming old farmhouse that's in dire need of some basic repairs and upkeep. If the grounds were better kept, and the bathroom and bed were updated this would be quite a wonderful B&B.
