the resort has Great helpful staff. Set in Canmore with Beautiful views. Well services and equipped rooms. The worldmarkmark selfcatering resort is also Very close to all attractions. Try out all the local pubs too.
Stayed at this property 6 years ago and decided to return for a 5 night visit. Rooms have been updated slightly and whilst they are not massive they are much better than your average hotel room
The staff are very friendly and always ready to assist with any queries you have. Best part of the resort is the pool and hot tub which is open year round. Complimentary coffee is also available in reception and laundry facilities are also provided free of charge
Canmore is a very short drive away but just a bit to far to walk. We got a taxi back one evening with no problem
Overall a good stay with no problems at all
Have to admit, i did set my expectations rather high. However, we had no mountain view from our 1-Br condo, which was quite the long and confusing walk from the parkade. The units, although nice and renovated, were quite small and the central air made a ridiculous amount of noise when you're trying to sleep. Those were the biggest downsides, the rest is great: the pool, sauna and jacuzzi area is so nice, you can easily spend a couple hours there each day.
This resort is a bit out-of-town, but no more so than other similar resorts. The staff is wonderful and the accommodations excellent as well. I would highly recommend this Worldmark which we used as being a time share member.l Trish
We loved our one bedroom condo unit which was perfect for the two of us. It was clean and well furnished, with a comfortable king bed. Canmore is a quaint town with plenty of restaurants. We were thrilled with coupons from the resort....even buy one, get one free! The resort is situation in the mountains with hiking trails. Just a short 20 minute drive north is Banff National Park, a wonderland of natural beauty! The pool is indoor/outdoor and has a hot tub.
Our timeshare in Canmore/Banff was a very nice property - very cozy, it was nestled in the Canadian Rockies about 15 minutes to Banff. The views from the grounds were amazing. The view from our two bedroom was basically a forest. If you're hoping to get a room with a fireplace which is very limited, they only offer in one bedroom's. To Canmore town, it's about a 5 min drive. Our experience with Banff Canadian National park was in the middle of Sept. We had lovely weather - avg about 70. There was a few days of rain and one morning snow flurries. At night, it was a bit cooler (fireplace weather). The property has a very nice fireplace in the lobby except they didn't light it once. I asked why don't they light it? Their answer was, we only have a few pieces of firewood! I was thinking...it's cold out, would have been nice to snuggle in a chair and have a glass of wine. The weren't very accommodating when it came to pleasing customers. They have about 6 BBQ's on the deck from the lobby. The rooms do not have balconies. The rooms do not have a full kitchen, they have a stove, and a microwave/convectional oven and dishwasher & a large frig. The two bedroom was a very nice size. The property shares a parking lot and pool/hot tub & sauna with an a joining hotel.
At the time that we went to Canada - American money was worth more and you pay $.75 per their $1.00 if you use your debit card. Do not exchange to use their $$. Check before you go
This resort is lovely but for travellers without transport it is terrible. It is out of town and therefore a taxi ride for everything. No restaurant at all on site or even nearby. The other disappointing thing is that you expect mountain views but this resort is surrounded by tall trees.
The fact that is advertised as Canmore Banff is very misleading if you come from overseas as you imagine it to be in Banff.
The wifi is terrible. It took an excessively long time to attempt to get connected but then finally had to get the help desk to do it from their end.
Would not recommend to travellers without transport and even for those with it as it is a long way from downtown.
We booked a 1BR condo for our visit to the area. However, what we got was a 1BR "hotel style" room, which was pretty much a hotel room with a mini-fridge and microwave. Because we had booked through Airbnb, the resort couldn't help us.
Just make sure when you are booking that you will have a full kitchen and you should be fine.
Other than our room being a disappointment, we enjoyed the property and the location was great. One morning, when we left early, we saw a black bear just a couple of blocks down the road!
The units at the Worldmark Canmore-Banff are small but comfortable. The hotel itself is located on a hill above the town somewhat. The scenery around the place is spectacular. There is outdoor and underground parking. We had a king size bed. The sofa bed in the living room was king size and it was pulled out, would have taken up almost the entire "living room" space. However, the sofa bed was the most comfortable sofa I have ever encountered at a Worldmark resort. The small kitchen was serviceable for meals. This is good because the area is pricey for meals if you go out alot. We found the room a bit stuffy and ended up turning on the AC. The windows only opened a few inches due to decorative bars extending across front. The staff was great. We had to call them a couple times and they were on the spot. The resort shows two films every night, one for kids and one for adults. They are shown in the activity room where there are comfortable armchairs to sit in.
My family of 4 had the pleasure of spending 2 full weeks at this resort during the first 2 weeks of June 2015 thru an RCI exchange. The rooms (1 bedroom) are smaller than most 1 bedrooms we have stayed in, but it did not take away from the great points that the resort scored overall. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was nice and large, living room, though a little small was comfortable, table for 4 by the kitchen, nice kitchen--but as noted--there is no oven, but we didn’t need one. The lobby, lounge, business center was nice. Grills were right off the back of the lobby and convenient; the front desk provided all of the utensils and even cleaned them. There were free movies nightly in the rec center for free. Hot tubs were nice--but for us the pool was a little cool (but being from the desert that was probably why). Underground parking was the way to go and a breeze. Upon arrival we requested that we stay in the same room for both weeks and that was granted. Front desk staff was always very nice, helpful, and polite. If you go hiking, they will provide Bear Spray if available. One of our last evenings, there was a fire alarm and we had to evacuate until cleared by the fire department. While waiting, one of the staff members brought me a blanket for my 5 year-old daughter--all without even asking. It was really a great 2 weeks at this quiet, clean, comfortable resort. Again, compliments to all of the staff who really treated us like family.
