Econo Lodge Causeway Bay - Calgary

This is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. The price reflects the overall condition of the hotel as you would expect.

The name Causway Bay is not a strech since IT IS on the Hwy 1... VERY NOISY !! Coupled with ultra stiff beds, I didn't sleep much !! But if you need to go anywhere, the highway is right there in front of you !!

Had to stay here for no vacancy anywhere else. Wish I would have went even further out of downtown. About what you might expect from a 30yr old bargain basement room. Worst was that I asked for a cab firstthing the night before. I asked again 20min early. The front desk was unintersted and I finally got a cab 45min late. Live & learn.

It is nothing to brag about but for the money, it is clean and easy to find

Older building but staff were nice. Room was small but decent. Wireless internet never worked but at least there was another open wifi from someone to use. Someone threw up outside the night I stayed but the staff cleaned it up right after I reported it. Found it weird that they provided shower caps, soap and lotion but no shampoo. very poor service: they don't even provide shampoo for your room (even the cheapest motels do!), very messy parking with no lights, awful breakfast service (not enough plates, empty cereal jars, molded breads, old & cold coffee), whenever you complain or ask for a service, the front desk says "we are not a 5 star hotel".

there girls party all night in the rooms singing loud from drinking this noise started about 1:30 am and did not stop untill 4:30 -5:00 am.. so no could sleep

The noise comes from 16th Ave N, AKA the Trans Canada highway, but double and triple paned windows keep out most of the noise, if you can sleep with closed windows. The hotel and neighbourhood are decidedly downscale, but the reception was nice, and the rooms clean and comfortable. Also, the trail that runs along the river is right across the street. TIP: […] for those without a car, the #40 bus stops right at this hotel, and goes right by the other Econolodge (in Motel Village) and through the Foothills Medical Centre and to the North Hill shopping centre. Also, across the street from the North Hill Centre is a C-train station that takes you downtown. Tickets for the Calgary bus and C-train can be purchased at the nearby 7-11 for $2.75 (as of March 2012). So this is a great location to save on cab fare, depending on where your places of interest while in Calgary are. Read more

Deciding to stay at this hotel was my best choice. It has all the most expensive hotels have but at the discount price. I have made this hotel as my own choice.

Overall satisfied. Front desk staff were amazing and super accommodating! Hotel and room were clean and the price was right! Loved that it was so close to the Children's hospital and that they offered discounted rate to people attending the hospital for medical purposes! Good hotel, staff great, clean

Horrible place! Stayed in way better Econo lodges than this one for sure. Beds were so hard and noisy, that I couldn't sleep for 2 nights!! Not clean and poor service as well.

Service was great but the hotel is dated, carpet worn thin at the entrance.

Hotel under renovations, renovations that include using white sheets to cover holes in the roof of the parking under the hotel. Requested change of room as first one smelled like burnt glue from the laying down of the carpet - to only switch to the same problem in another room. Thankful that breakfast was included but it was crammed into a previous […] hotel room, so it was awkward..and small. Tables in chairs for eating were in the room beside it and half the guests didn't even realize it so had to stand around the breakfast room and eat. Hotel employees were in and out of the breakfast room getting coffee and things, and also using the bathroom in the next room where us guests were eating...even more AWKWARD! Upon check-in and switching of the rooms the front desk attendant was hard to understand as his first language was not english. The intersection in front of the hotel has no lights so its necessary to turn right always, and do a U-turn if you actually were heading left of the hotel. The beds were advertised as queens but were doubles, so we could not fit the both of us comfortably so we had to sleep in separate beds. My rib cage was sore each morning. excellent value for the dollar. Very clean. Offered baggage rack if we wanted to get to our room. convenient parking. Very close to the Olympic Park. Easy acces around Calgary so you don't have to go through downtown. Room a bit musty, but not bad for a smoking room. Had fridge, micro, coffee maker, everything you need. Very pleased

Die Lodge ist am Highway 1 perfekt gelegen. Die Sauberkeit des Zimmers laesst zu wuenschen uebrig (Haare im Badezimmer, Haar auf der neuen (?) Bettwaesche und schmuddeliger Teppich). Sehr possitiv ist das kleine Fruehstuecksbuffet. Da hat es alles was man braucht.
