Glacier right next to hotel. Able to book a tour right downstairs. Restaurant is pricey but its the only place to eat. Got in late at night and it was very difficult to find hotel lobby. It was behind a frosted glass door in the corner.

we had trouble finding the hotel, apparently because the park won't let them put a big-enough sign up. the lobby was very minimalist, but we were pleasantly surprised at how large the room was, with a queen bed and sofa on the main level, and a loft with 2 twin beds on the 2nd level. the restaurant food prices were high, but the food was very good.

My husband and I just spent a wonderful night at the Glacier View Inn. Check-in was easy, reception desk personnel were beyond helpful and the room was delightful. We had a gorgeous view of the glacier and the mountains to the east. The room was spacious, clean and well decorated. The amazing part of the decor was four comfortable chairs we could move about as the view changed. We did not use the restaurants because we had brought an anniversary picnic to eat in our room. We were on the first glacier tour out in the morning and did not have to wait in line for anything.

This hotel is in same building of ice field adventure. It has amazing view, and in perfect location between two national parks of Banff and Jasper National park. The room is very spacious, has one queen on one floor and two twin beds in the loft. My children love it! We will definitely like to stay again.

Not a great hotel at all but the location was to die for. Worth very poor parking, greeting, restaurant, to have the glacier mostly to yourself from 7pm to 7am. Room was very comfortable and the view was amazing.

Arrived at the hotel in pouring rain just to find out that there is no possibility to approach the hotel with the car, and the heavy luggage had to be carried in the rain from the parking lot which is over 250 m away. Fortunately a hotel employee helped us but all of us and the luggage got soaked. Then we found out that there is no WIFI and no cellular connection. Then we found out that the restaurant consider the guests "captured customers" and charges for breakfast more than other restaurants charge for lunch. And we realized that the "stunning glacier view" from our window is not stunning anymore since the glacier has been receding very fast in r3cent years. Ther have been simple motels which I enjoyed my stay in them much more at one third of the price. If anyone wants to visit the Columbia Icefield he'd beter overnight in Jasper, and within one hour drive be at the icefield in the morning.

In the same building where the glacier tours originate. We had a reading light that did not work and it took staff a while to fix this. Seemed to be lightly staffed. During the day (in August) the icefield center is a zoo but it was nice after 6PM and in the morning. Views great out of window. Food expensive but dining staff friendly and aiming to please.

This hotel was a real disappointment. We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel itself was very dirty - the elevators and hallways had stains, dirt and other debris. The front desk staff was rude and apathetic. Our room was dirty upon arrival (hair in the bed and on the bathroom floor). Most shockingly was that the housekeeping staff never came to clean the room during our stay. When I told the front desk employee, she didn't register any surprise that this had happened -- basically I got the impression that this is a regular occurrence. She said "sorry" but couldn't have appeared any less concerned. Also -- heads up -- the hotel has no wifi. Finally, the restaurant in the hotel was awful. The only good thing I can say about the place is the convenience to the Icefields, which is literally across the street. The town of Jasper is about a 75-min drive, so you're really in the middle of nowhere. I think this is the only hotel close by, so they probably don't have to try too hard to win business because essentially they are the only option in this area. Do yourself a favor and stay in Jasper or Lake Louise and just come to the Icefields for the day.

Spacious, comfortable room. Ask for one on a corner even if it's not a glacier view. Only negative was the sign for where to park for the hotel. It's tiny. Park where the tour buses park. It was so quiet and peaceful to be at the Icefields Center after the crowds have left. We drove to some of the nearby lookout areas like Tangle Falls after 7 PM and then it was a quick ride to our comfortable room instead of driving all the way to Jasper.

Check-in very rude (When you stop talking I'll answer your questions). Legal parking insufficient and inconvenient so we had to park in handicapped or "bus only." Luggage to room a long walk, especially if the one working luggage cart is out and no one knows where it is. Food prices higher than luxury hotels in Banff/Jasper: Three muffins, two coffees (no free refills), one chocolate milk made a $25.50 breakfast for three. Room unbearably hot on 90+F day; no breeze and 9"x14" single window. No AC and no exhaust fan. Except for check-in and the man who woke us up at 10:00 pm to ask if we had an extra fan in the room (other guests were hot and the hotel had no more fans) the staff was friendly, helpful, and seemed to care about our comfort, though there were no solutions for the heat. (A window AC unit could be installed for the price of one night's lodging!)

To reach the hotel lobby one has to fight one's way through the crowds of coach tourists on the ground floor, clamoring to take an expensive trip up to the glacier or on the sky walk. The glacier views are spectacular from the hotel rooms on the west side, and our room was comfortable and quiet, with a queen-size bed in a loft and two single beds on the main floor. The furnishings and carpeting were rather industrial but modern. The cost of the nightly stay was high, but not unexpected for a spectacular location such as this.

This hotel locates in the same complex as the Columbia Icefield Visitor Center and is a perfect resting location when driving along the Icefields parkway. It's just facing the Athebasca summit and the columbia icefield so the view is awesome, especially at sunset time. Food was good at the restaurant at reasonable price. While staying there we took a walk around the hotel after dinner and it was so relaxing and refreshing. When the visitor center is close, it suddenly becomes so quiet and peaceful. If it's a clear day, it's also a perfect place to see stars above the glacier, stunning view. Yes it's true that it does not have Wifi, but my take on this is that experiencing the icefields parkway is a life time experience so go out to see the mountains and glaciers as much as you can instead of spending hours on your phone to chat with friends or post pics on FB.

The hotel was in a fantastic location. It's very crowded with tour busses moving in and out. The service is excellent but don't expect the staff to know any local information beyond the services at that specific location. Most of the staff we spoke too were only working there for the summer. The staff I talked to had no idea of what was beyond the glacier. This is unfortunate as the area is amazing and there is so much to see.

This is in the middle of nowhere. So be forewarned about it. There was nothing to complain about the room, it was clean, spacious, had an upper level with two twin beds. Negatives: (1) The room with view that we selected was fine, just the description was not correct. There are two twin beds and a separate queen bed. There were four adults in our group and because of the inadequate description we ended up booking two rooms whereas one would have been fine. (2) We were told that since we booked through expedia there was no complimentary breakfast. (3) Every single hotel we stayed during our trip (4 others in Banff, Golden, Jasper) had free Wi-Fi. The receptionist flatly said there was no Wi-Fi here. (4) The food in the restaurant within the hotel was pricey (nothing around so easy to rip off). For elderly people who want a quiet secluded spot this is great. Otherwise you will be far better off just taking a break here on your way to Jasper or Banff and experiencing the Icefields Adventure, and getting back to the road. I won't again spend my money to stay here.

Room 324 was 80 degrees and hot. There is no AC and the heater was off with the window open. No breeze comes in and the room stays that hot all night. I couldn't sleep and called the front desk and they brought me a fan to move hot air around the room but it still stayed hot. In the morning I talked to the front desk and about my sleepless night I had. They just said sorry and told me I should have asked for a different room. She said she knows room 324 and 322 are the "hot" ones. I don't get it. I'll not be returning. Such a shame because the room was spacious and clean in a convenient location.

When I booked with expedia, I was looking for lodging in Jasper. This was listed. This hotel is right by the famous glacier. There are no signs at all. We went to Jasper and when we couldn't find it I called and found that we had passed it an hour before. So we went back, in the dark. There in pitch dark we tried to find a way to make it up to the hotel. There were only a couple of little lights in the parking lots. Finally we found a walkway into the building, far from the parking lot. Then we couldn't find a reception desk. A very friendly person from the dining room showed us where to go. The very nice young lady at the desk offered us a bigger flash light to use, or drive our car to another place down to a back door. We opted to walk with a cart. There were two other couples out in the frigged cold trying to make their way over the bridge and I offered my two little personal flash lights which they took. The building operates with a generator, and it has radiant heat, so no thermostat. When we opened the window to cool off in our room we could hear the generator. Having said all that, the staff was polite and apologetic, even comping us two breakfasts. The room was very clean and comfortable. The experience makes for a funny story and it all worked out fine. Apparently they can't advertise on the roadside in a national park for lodging...go figure!

We arrived after sunset, and were glad we had called ahead for instructions. The hotel is part of the Glacier Centre which is really easy to find right across from the Columbia Glacier. The Hotel is on the 2nd floor (no signage from the highway) and is completely modern and well appointed. The only problem we encountered was with the electricity. Using the hair dryer blew the fuse. The staff are very friendly and there is an information centre on the first floor as well as tickets to the bus tour to ride on the glacier. We opted for walking to the glacier on our own which was very nice and completely free :) There is no internet or cellular service so if you need to call ahead, be sure to do it before hitting the Ice Fields Parkway.

The hotel has a cloth sign hanging on the building with small letters so it was hard to find. I tried to call to get directions but the hotel does not have a direct telephone number. The phone number they have is for the information center that is located in the same building. The information center closes as 5:00. I called them at 5:30 trying to get directions to the hotel. I got a recording saying they were closed for the day and that I should leave my name and a telephone number and they would contact me the next morning. I drove 40 miles out of my way trying to locate this hotel

The Glacier View Inn is located about an hour from Jasper, AB. It's one lone hotel along the Icefields Parkway highway in Alberta. When we got there it was about 8 PM, so it was rather quiet. The hotel reception is hard to find--it's tucked away on the first floor through double doors with frosted glass. There was no signage, so we wandered around for a bit without knowing where to check in. The room we got was a super pleasant surprise. We had a huge room with two queen beds, as well as several arm chairs and a big bathroom. Our room mostly overlooked the parking lot and mountains, but we could see the Athabasca glacier across the street through one window. The glacier is the hotel's main draw--it's literally across the street. I wasn't blown away by the glacier, but it was still pretty cool to see. The hotel also doubles as a glacier information center, so it's busy with tourists during the day. Lots of tour buses showed up while we ate breakfast in our room the next morning at about 8 AM. Nothing to say about the food, since we didn't eat at the restaurant here. Overall it was a decent experience. I would only recommend staying here if you're on your way to somewhere else and need a place to stay overnight, or if you're a glacier fanatic. The hotel is also close to very cool hikes. We hiked Wilcox Pass, which is a convenient 3 minutes away. We saw wild bighorn sheep up close on the hike and had awesome views of the surrounding mountains.

Better then expected. Nice room. Good food. The food is a bit pricey but you would expect that concidering how far it is from a city. The lady that checled us in didn't seem to enjoy her work but was efficent.

had quite a bit of expectation but am sorry to say i was quite disappointed .... Hotel hallway was not clean, Rooms not clean, We had specifically requested for sofabed , it was there but seemed no one even tried looking at it to ensure it was clean and mattress /mattress cover was changed. when informed the staff did change it but were quite off about it as if it wasn't an issue at all. Probably having kids from school /college as staff instead of hospitality / tourism professionals has led to such lax attitude. Would not recommend this hotel for a family sat for even one night, would suggest instead of driving on to Banff / lake Louise / jasper and checking in a hotel there. The food options at the restaurant wasn't much and were quite overpriced, but the staff at the restaurant was helpful.

This hotel is in an ideal location for folks heading up the Icefields Parkway on the way to Jasper. The other accommodations nearby are The Crossing (south), Sunwapta Lodge (north), and several hostels along the way. The price point and location (directly across from the icefields) made this a good choice. One might say that the rates are high, but if you look at the other places you'll find comparable prices. The room was huge, two queens, a couch, TV (with quite a few cable channels), and a spacious bathroom. I'm sure there are other floor plans, but this was enormous for two people, and probably the largest room we stayed in on vacation in the Rockies. The room was great, the view was great, my only complaint is the 'dining room' on the 2nd floor which will cost you half as much as the room if you don't bring a picnic dinner and/or snacks. Ridiculously expensive. Not pricey, not inflated, literally outrageous even for a tourist trap. Do yourself a favor and swing by a gas station or grocery store in Banff or Lake Louise (or Jasper depending on which direction you're coming from) and spare the sticker shock.

From a long-ago visit to the glacier during the middle of the day, I wanted to be able to explore the area without the tour bus frenzy that lasts most of the day. Also, we were doing a guided "Ice Walk" the next morning. I expected a run-down, tired motel. Instead we had a nicely maintained, very clean room with a bathroom, queen and sitting area (3 chairs and a couch) on the main floor and two twin beds up in a loft. Far exceeded our expectations, and the glacier is beautiful in the evening, when you basically get the pavilion to yourself. Our only complaint would be that the room was rather warm for our personal tastes, and the single window that opens is rather small, so the loft in particular was warm at night. However, given the climate where this motel is located, I can understand why the window is not bigger. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you'd like to stay up and be near the glacier without the crowds. The restaurant served a good burger too!

The room I got was a queen bed in main room and two standard beds at attic. What a surprise. Kids loved the setting. It is at the 3rd floor of Glacier Info Center. A slice of moon high up, a cup of tea at hands, read ancient marks on glacier face by the deck, and listen to the remote cracks with heart. You are yourself right there.

Pro: Nice view and clean room. Decent CAFE. Con: No cell phone signal. No internet. No business service like fax. No frig or microwave. Not even sign outside building to make it clear that this is the building for the Inn. We spent quite some time to look for the Inn around the area, hoping to see a sign!

A lovely quiet place, but not well marked. Someone there at the location didn't even know it was a motel. Hard to find where to check in. No air. Very expensive restaurant that was the only place to eat. Cute rooms with a loft.

The room we stayed in was very comfortable and the location was excellent. It was directly across from the Columbia Icefields. It would have been helpful to have a fridge and microwave in our room.

Remote location--nothing in the area except the Columbia Icefield Glacier--you are captive to high prices and no activities once the hotel restaurant closes for the night at 9pm.
