"Great view of glaciers"
Enjoyed views. Rooms are spacious with lots of seating.Genuine Expedia guest review
The view is amazing it has an spectacular environment. The only thing bad is the food is so expensive is cheaper to drive 100 km to Jasper than eat at the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay and the Glacier trip. We had read that the food was just so so but found it quite good although a little expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Literally - this IS the glacier view!!"
This is a MUST DO if you are in the Banff or Jasper area. We chose to stay at the inn for more time without the large groups of tourists who visit there daily. We had a grand evening hike up to the foot of the glacier, and the next morning we took an earlier trip up on the glacier before all the buses arrived. We saw two GORGEOUS RAINBOWS from our hotel […] window, and while on the glacier, we experienced a full ice storm!! Staying AT THE HOTEL gives you these opportunities that you would not have if just traveling through. Our hotel room was a corner room with a glacier view - WOW! What a view!!! We were surprised with a loft of two twin beds upstairs. Kids loved it. The room is clean. However, there is no internet available in the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel at one of the most romantic locals"
Most desirable location in Jasper NP right across from the Athabasca glacier. Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Decent restaurant (it's pricey but to no surprise considering the remote location).Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was adequate for comfort, but the most important thing is the location. This is the only hotel in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Glacier View Room"
Had a glacier view room. Got great photos from the window of the glaciers and long horn sheep!! The room was comfortable, quiet and would have been great for a family, it had a loft and queen bed upstairs too!Genuine Expedia guest review
When we booked the room, we did not expect much from Glacier View Inn other than the location. It turned out that the room was very clean and comfy and the hotel and dining room staff were very courteous. The room was big enough to accomodate our family with three children as it has two twin bed upstairs and two full beds downstairs. The only downside […] is there is no wifi service in the hotel, but that was expected for the location. Will definitely come back and stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A very pleasant surprise."
We stayed for one night in May to visit the ice fields. Not a lot of visitors at this time of year. The room was large and very comfortable and the location was excellent. Good hiking close by and the drive to and from the hotel has exceptional views.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in"
The Glacier View Inn is a beautiful hotel. It is right across from the Athabasca Glacier. We had a lovely stay. The view from our room was phenomenal. We visited the middle of October. It was a stopover between Banff and Jasper National Parks. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Glacier View Inn,Icefields Parkway Alberta Canada"
Rooms very large including 1 queen, 1 pull out queen sofa bed, and 2 twin beds in an upper spacious loft. All rooms are non smoking and extremely clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Daniel at the checkin desk provided excellent advice and was very knowledgeable about the area. Dining room service was great by Alam and Demis. I was suffering […] from the beginnings of a cold and the 2 waiters voluntarily brought me hot water with honey and lemon slices at every meal. This is a great location at a reasonable price when you book through organizations such as hotels.com. It is perfect for a relaxed time to view and take the excursion to the Athabaska Glacier at the Columbia Icefields. Driving to Jasper and back to here is easily done in 1 day with lots of time to take side trips to other points of interest. I would recommend a minimum of 2 nights stay to allow time to see the Glacier and drive to Jasper and back. "Beautiful scenery! Internet and steady hot water please!"
Great location right across the highway from Columbia icefields in Jasper National Park--that's why we chose it. There are no other hotels or services nearby. This is the only option. So you take what you get. There is no wireless or internet (so can't upload or email those beautiful pics!), the hot water and water pressure is unreliable, the faucets […] in the sink only stay on for 5 seconds, the food in both the restaurant and cafeteria is overpriced, the hallways feel more like a train or bus station than a hotel, the hotel front desk is hidden in a corner so that you think you are second rate compared to the tourists who are buying tickets to take the tractor-tread equipped buses that traverse the glacier. But if location counts, this is it! Go for it! You wake up to breakfast in the overpriced restaurant--but you can't beat the view over the icefields! Where else can you wake up to a view of a glacier! Location, location, location! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Stayed here in July--had a hard time finding it, due to no signs. Love the location and hotel!! Please put more explicit instructions for its location on the website! ThanksGenuine Expedia guest review
"Glacier View Inn"
The hotel is on the 3rd floor of the Icefield Center. It does not have a separate building. (it took me some time to find it). My room is facing the Athabasca Icefield, which I can see every morning when I woke up! The price is very good for what I got - a deluxe room that has a loft inside the room with a total of 3 beds. The room is very clean and […] comfortable. The bathroom is one of my favorites during my trip. It's about 1 hour to either Jasper Town or Lake Louise Village. It opens only thru May to Oct, due to extreme temperature condition during winter time in the park. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This is the only hotel in this area, and is well maintained, howere considering the beauty of the a rea, there was only one rather small window in the room looking out onto the beautiful landscape, there should have been a large picture window in the room, or sliding doors onto a balcony.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Glacier View Hotel on top of the Icefields Centre"
It was very convenient to be able to stay over and then take the early tour the next morning. The woman at the desk for the hotel was unhelpful and surly. It is the only place to stay or eat so you are at their mercy. Prices for food were especially high--$10 for a single egg! Needless to say we skipped breakfast in the morning. Convenient yes but bring […] your own food. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Layover Spot"
This is a great spot to layover when traveling between Jasper and Banaff. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Staff is friendly and very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Amazing location right across from glaciers and the Columbia Icefield. We booked a package including the icefield adventure and forefield walking tour. We had the mountain view which basically means you are on the backside of the inn with no view so if you want to sit in your room and take in the views choose the glacier view. The location is remote […] so unfortunately there is no wifi available. Our room had a loft with two twin beds but we only used the downstairs area. The room was very clean and comfortable with a nice restroom. The on-site restaurant was expensive but good; the cafeteria doesn't measure up. Would have given 5 stars if the desk staff had not turned us away when we came too early to check in without offering to store our bags - we hauled them all the way back to the car (it was a long way). The icefield adventure and forefield walking tour are not to be missed - both are amazing and fun. Make sure to park near the busses - there is no signage and the walk the other direction is up a lot of stairs - we did it with our bags up and down and up again. "Diamond in the rough"
We just stayed here 1 night because we were unable to find anything in Jasper for our group of 11. This is a great hotel located right in front of the Athabasca Glacier. No mobile coverage, no wifi. Total serenity. It is surrounded by nature and beautiful mountains and glaciers. Don't expect 5 star service since staff and resource are limited due to […] its location. We were told to avoid going outside alone at night due to prowling cougars. The only light outside is natural so it was pitch black when we went (overcast and no moon). We enjoyed our short stay. "Amazing view, average hotel"
Arrived in the evening and it took a while to find the hotel reception since there were no signs from the exterior (bottom floor at the rear of the building). Also we had to park away from the entrance and carry our bags a fair way. The room was split over two levels, with a double bed in the attic and twice singles on the main floor. We had paid extra […] for a glacier view room and I'm glad we did, it was certainly the best part of the hotel. "glacier view inn, gorgeous retreat"
The hotel was in a gorgeous location, only downside being it was far from jasper. It didn't have a pool or wifi, but if you complain that there was no wifi for your precious phone in the middle of the rockies then I really don't think that the mountains or nature at all are for you. "Location location location"
Great location. I mean seriously you couldn't ask for a better place to put a hotel. All the tours leave from the hotel lobby so it's very convenient . But it's obvious that the place is seriously outdated and needs a MASIVE face lift. They have a restaurant there and yes the staff are very friendly but the food is overpriced and is at best mediocre. No directions to indicate where the hotel is located was found when we approached the Icefield Cenre. It would be helpful if it stated that the hotel was on the top floor of Icefield Centre. "Gateway to Athabasca Glacier"
We decided to change up our initerary to take more time to explore the stunning Icefield's Parkway's beautiful scenery. We left Jasper in the morning and ended up arriving at the hotel around 11.00am. The Hotel also houses the adventure centre where you can ride the specially designed buses out onto the glacier. We booked a tour and pretty much left […] straight away. By 12.30pm we had arrived back and had some luch before heading to reception to see if we could check-in early (normally 4.00pm check-in time - ridiculous). We grabbed our bags and headed to reception with our 2 year old who by this stage was going crazy. The girl at reception was on the phone and had no urgency to assist us so we waited for 10 mins when finally we asked if we could check-in early she said our room was not available and we would have to come back at 4.00pm. I'm not sure she even checked. She was Australian like us but seemed to hate having to work. Not sure what she expected us to do for 3 hours with a tired 2 year old as there wasnt much else in the vicinity. We went for a drive and came back at 4.00pm as advised. We thankfully got a different Aussie reception girl who was very friendly and accommodating. We were given the largest room in the hotel which was clean and had great views. Funny thing was there was no-one else in the hotel so pretty sure our room was available much earlier. Same cranky girl on check-out and same attitude again. Recommended however dont arrive before 4. "Hidden Gem. Hidden too well. Not in Jasper Town."
This hotel is located at the Columbia Icefields which is about an hours drive from Jasper Town. The hotel is located inside the Columbia Icefields discovery centre. You can't really miss the centre, it's the only building on that road for almost an hour in each direction. Pros: - Beautiful scenery and landscape all around. - Proximity to Icefields, […] Skywalk, tours and hiking trails Cons: - The area by the icefields has no cell phone reception about 30 minutes in each direction from the Columbia Icefields discovery centre. There is no cell reception at the centre either. By the time I had reception, I was pretty close to Jasper town. - Signs are lacking. When they say environmentally sensitive, they totally mean it. Unless you knew the hotel was inside the centre, 9/10 you'd probably drive right past it. No cell reception to double check your booking further complicates the matter. Overall, I can't really fault the hotel for the cons. In fact, it might be a plus if you want to pull someone off a phone and really focus on (or be focused on) your significant other for the whole weekend. Amenities wise, I had what I needed in advance and knew there wasn't much at the location, so it wasn't a bother to me. If you need amenities, Jasper Town or Banff may suit your needs better. we had to have been given worst room in house on our first night. The kitchen exhaust fan piping was along one wall of our room and the noise started about 6pm and finished at 10.30pm. It was like a train was rolling through. It restarted again at 4a.m. The door lock on bathroom was broken and we were locked out of our own bathroom if you closed the […] door. While the staff did appreciate the problems they could not change our room that night. The broken door handle was replaced. They apologized for the noise, gave us a voucher for breakfast and changed our room to an upgraded location the next day. We had requested a quiet room on booking. While the location is great I would not recommend extended stay there. There was no internet or mobile service available for guests. restaurant and café expensive. "Servicable Hotel in the middle of nowhere"
My experience was overall pleasant, but I wouldn't stay here again. This is a basic hotel for people stopping over between Jasper or Lake Louise depending on which direction they are going. it is on the 3rd floor of a renovated info centre for the glacier tours so there are no extra for guests. Also the food options are ridiculous. There is 1 overly […] expensive restaurant (although the food was good) and 1 badly stocked cafeteria. Nothing available for normal middle class people. You have the feeling that you are being taken advantage of in this regard. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Staff was friendly, room was clean and very big. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very good service there as well. We were there in May, too early to do any sightseeing, but will probably return for a night in the summer when we can tour the glacier and the new skywalk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome staff, location and hotel!"
A great place to stay...the staff were really awesome helping us to park our car in the correct place while helping us with our kids and luggage. Really friendly and incredibly helpful. Room was clean, lots of space for the five of us and cosy warm with a great view of the glacier. Breakfast was a little overpriced, but it was very tasty and all clean […] plates from the three kids - which says a lot! Will stay again for sure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs better signage"
This is a nice hotel, right across the road from the Athabasca glacier, however, it needs signage to indicate that the hotel is, in fact, inside the same facility as the Columbia icefields centre. We drove past it for 20 min. and then had to backtrack. Apparently there is a small sign in front but it was completely covered in snow (April 22, 2014).Genuine Expedia guest review
"They get you with insanely high priced food."
You're an hour and fifteen minutes for anything, so you're stuck paying $28 for a grilled chicken sandwich that would cost you $10 anywhere else. There is wifi at the hotel, but it's not available to guests. No cell phone service. The volume on half the TV channels didn't work. If you don't want to pay insane prices for food, bring your own. Don't […] expect wifi or cell service. Rooms are nice, and clean, but if you're looking for entertainment/dining when the day time activities end, you're better off staying in downtown Jasper and driving to the icefields. "Its all about the location"
Travelled off peak so this was fairly cheap for a large family room spread over 2 stories (dbl downstairs, 2 single up). Drove past it once as their is just a small banner and we hadn't realised it was inside the centre. We also parked in the main car park so had to walk up lots of slippery steps struggling with suitcases (I think you can park in the […] disabled entrance for the hotel). Found the hotel entrance very difficult to locate (walked round the entire building). Staff were chatting when we approached and took a minute to acknowledge us, it felt like they were winding down for the season end so not really bothered about guests but they did tell us about the restaurant, morning staff were much more attentive. Room was lovely and would be very nice for a family or a group of 3 or 4 to stay, there was some rubbish left from the previous guests though. Being across from the glacier is amazing, even if you have a mountain view - we took loads of photos the following morning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
