"Right by the Glacier"
Very nice location, great view of Glacier. Plenty of room for a family with children. Friendly staff. Would be nice to have a microwave.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet, Comfortable Room with a Glacier View"
It was a little odd that the hotel is on the third floor of the Icefields Visitor Center - but the room was nice and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the linens were nice, and the towels and bathroom items were good. We had a glacier view room -- but the window was smaller than I expected. Our room had a loft, which was nice for the kids. It […] was very quiet in the evening after all the tour buses left the Icefields area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Only lodging option at glacier"
Hotel is expensive for type of lodging, but you are paying for the convenience of staying at the glacier tour staging area directly across hwy from glacier. Dinner at restaurant was very expensive for Chinese food and our room smelled from greasy kitchen cooking directly below. On the plus side, you are ready to go for first tours in the morning, avoiding […] crowds from tour buses arriving later in the morning. Views are spectacular ! "Excellent location with view of the Glacier."
Location was excellent with view of the Glacier. Hotel lobby was not very noticeable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, spacious room with a great view"
We were pleasantly surprised with how nice our room was - very spacious, clean, comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Near the glacier, but not much else."
Nice place considering it's the top level of the glacier visitors' center. The room had a loft with 2 twin beds upstairs and one queen downstairs. Very convenient for visiting the glacier, but a long way from everything else in the park, including the town of Jasper. The restaurant is decent but expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I felt this hotel like 4 star hotel. It was clean and comfortable so much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel not close to Jasper"
The hotel is located in a very lonely area, no population or any other business in 50 km radius. Nothing much to do. Thought the restaurant staff was excellent, they were very friendly and the food was also very good. In short it is good place to stop by have lunch, see the glacier and move on to the Jasper village. The location is very misleading.Genuine Expedia guest review
Awesome locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Glacier View Inn unfortunately, short of a beautiful view, did not meet my expectations. The signage directing people to the hotel was inadequat, both inside the facility as well as outside signage. I spoke with a merchant in Jasper who said he had about a dozen people so far this year asking for direction after passing by the hotel some 100 kilometers […] earlier. The unempathetic staff pointed to the restrictions placed on them by Canada's National Park system for the lack of signs. I however think this is a weak explanation since so many others apparently have driven a great distance out of their way and the cloth sign could be darker and easier to read. Even more confusing is the entrance for the hotel says buses only which does not allow for someone to drive up to find out if it is in deed the location they are looking for. The room was nicely decorated and spacious. It seems like the facility is more geared towards tours of the local glaciers over maintaining a hotel-like atmospher. There was no ironing board in the room and the room lack ventilation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Location is the key"
Beautiful views of the glacier and very few other options within an hour of the glacier make this property worth considering. However, the price is very high for the quality of the room and amenities offered. The correct parking lot and front desk are extremely difficult to find as they are not well marked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Glacier View Inn Dear Guest: Thank you for taking the opportunity to review your recent stay at the Glacier View Inn. We are glad that you enjoyed the beautiful view of the glacier from the hotel. Given the extremely remote location of the hotel and the fact that all on-site power is generator produced, we cannot provide a lot of the electrical and technological luxuries of other hotels. The lobby is currently under construction so it is somewhat confusing when entering the building. But rest assured, when the lobby is complete, there will be signage clearly indicating the location of the front desk so guests can find it more easily. We appreciate your insight and look forward to the opportunity of hosting you again on your next drive through Jasper National Park. Sincerely, Alexandra George Hotel Sales Executive Coordinator Brewster Hospitality
ICE center was being renovated, so we didn't see the place at its best. Hotel staff was helpful, but we didn't enjoy our experiences in tbe restaurant. We understood the high prices, but the quality wasn't good and the service was poor.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed here one night as part of a trip to Jasper and Banff National Parks. The room was clean and comfortable. Booked a glacier view room and the view was gorgeous! The restaurant is the only place to eat for miles, and while the food was good it was way overpriced. Recommend staying here but would be sure to bring my own food!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great view, comfortable, clean room."
Of course you can't beat the location, right there at the Columbia Ice Sheet. Great view on the Glacier side, worth the extra few dollars for a room on that side. Friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great view of glaciers"
Enjoyed views. Rooms are spacious with lots of seating.Genuine Expedia guest review
The view is amazing it has an spectacular environment. The only thing bad is the food is so expensive is cheaper to drive 100 km to Jasper than eat at the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay and the Glacier trip. We had read that the food was just so so but found it quite good although a little expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Literally - this IS the glacier view!!"
This is a MUST DO if you are in the Banff or Jasper area. We chose to stay at the inn for more time without the large groups of tourists who visit there daily. We had a grand evening hike up to the foot of the glacier, and the next morning we took an earlier trip up on the glacier before all the buses arrived. We saw two GORGEOUS RAINBOWS from our hotel […] window, and while on the glacier, we experienced a full ice storm!! Staying AT THE HOTEL gives you these opportunities that you would not have if just traveling through. Our hotel room was a corner room with a glacier view - WOW! What a view!!! "Nice hotel at one of the most romantic locals"
Most desirable location in Jasper NP right across from the Athabasca glacier. Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Decent restaurant (it's pricey but to no surprise considering the remote location).Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was adequate for comfort, but the most important thing is the location. This is the only hotel in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Glacier View Room"
Had a glacier view room. Got great photos from the window of the glaciers and long horn sheep!! The room was comfortable, quiet and would have been great for a family, it had a loft and queen bed upstairs too!Genuine Expedia guest review
When we booked the room, we did not expect much from Glacier View Inn other than the location. It turned out that the room was very clean and comfy and the hotel and dining room staff were very courteous. The room was big enough to accomodate our family with three children as it has two twin bed upstairs and two full beds downstairs. The only downside […] is there is no wifi service in the hotel, but that was expected for the location. Will definitely come back and stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A very pleasant surprise."
We stayed for one night in May to visit the ice fields. Not a lot of visitors at this time of year. The room was large and very comfortable and the location was excellent. Good hiking close by and the drive to and from the hotel has exceptional views.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Inn with a little surprise"
Wasn't really expecting much when booked online, but the room surprised us. It is huge, well-maintained and clean. Not to mention that the view of Athabasca Glacier from our room is magnificent. Although there isn't much to do around the area (besides the Glacier and Skywalk), the overall experience in the Inn is still considered a good stopover, before […] heading to Jasper. "Icefields Parkway Spectacular view"
I've rated this hotel 5 stars because for the location - its as good as it gets. Be warned when you get to the Athabasca glacier, there's no connection to the rest of the world - no mobile coverage by anyone, no wifi - nothing. Just you & the ice. This place operates only for 6 months in the year, the rest of the time it is abandoned/closed. For that […] it is better than I expected - rooms were clean, staff were very pleasant, helpful & cheerful - and of course the view is absolutely spectacular. The restaurant isn't cheap but the food is good. There is also a café but in my opinion the restaurant is better value for money than the café. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Didn't enjoy my stay"
Hotel is extremely hard to find at night. There are no lights and no signs to guide you to where the parking lot is. Finding the place was extremely frustrating. Hotel bed sheets smell very stale. The rooms look very creepy/eery. The walls are poorly insulated so noisy neighbours are an issue. Food on the 2nd floor is extremely overpriced and extremely […] poor quality. I really did not enjoy my stay and couldn't wait to get out of here. No matter how cheap, I will not be booking here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Better than expected"
I read many of the reviews; they got me worried, but in fact I reckon those folks were just extra- fussy. The reception area was easy to find, I didn't expect wifi in the mountains, the rooms were large and very clean. We took food for supper and breakfast -- and all was well with our world.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location across from Columbia Icefields"
Pleasantly surprised! We had a corner room that was very large and had a fabulous view of the surrounding mountains and glacier. It was off-season so nice nd quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was clean and bed comfortable. Our room was hot which opening the window didn't help. We should have told the front desk to change the room as other guests said their room was fine. Our fault. I found the dining room prices very high. A hamburger was $20 and it was nothing special. A burger at Miette Hotsprings, also in the park, was half the […] price and better. "Less than impressed"
I was very disappointed in our stay, my husband and I were booked to stay for 2 nights and we left after the first night. There was no wifi or cell service, the restaurant was over priced, the hotel room had wallpaper coming off the wall and we almost drove past the hotel because it was not very well lit. We did not see any signs with the hotel name […] on it so we almost drove past it and we arrived after dark and found that the walkways into the hotel were poorly lit. The entrance to the hotel was not well marked. Too long of a walk from the car to the hotel. Too far to carry luggage. The hotel parking was not marked, we parked in day use and climbed a number of stairs to find the lobby. It took 10 minutes trying to find the Lobby to register.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice experience, beautiful view"
Finding the lobby, which everybody seem to have a problem to locate is non sense. More directions are needed. We were 4 person in our party and none of us could find it. After, you find the lobby, then you have to deal with getting your luggage in your car, which is very far from the hotel. Guests should be able to bring their vehicle closer to the […] hotel to unload, then parked it the other side of the bridge. After you are ready to go to your room(s) everything is fine. Nice hotel, nice room, nice dinning room. The problem is that after check-in, which is not a pleasant experience, your expectation(s) are low, but don't worry, everything is excellent after that process. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Only stayed because of location"
We knew we had a huge day of driving and exploring planned from Miette hot springs so booked this as we expected to be in late and had arranged to do Skywalk and Glacier Adventure... So figured overnight here, for early morning glacier. On arrival we were greeted very rudely and arrogantly by a young Australian girl. Anyhow, room was as expected- worn […] carpets, furniture ok, cleanliness a pass. It's not awful but it needs a bit of TLC. Kids loved the fact that they had an upstairs bedroom to themselves. So, space was a plus. Lumpy pillows. Noise level ok. Saw mountain goats from our window in morning. Great view of glacier from hotel restaurant. Chinese dinner at restaurant was unexpectedly good. "nice view of glacier"
This Hotel was extremely hard to locate. It requires a large sign on the highway, there was none to be found from Jasper to and past the interpretive centre. Only a small sign on the entrance door of the interpretive centre. There was no address on the internet for a gps to follow and no address on my confirmed email neither.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a fantastic one night stay, we had read a lot of not very good reviews prior to our visit but decided to give it a go, so glad we did the hotel was comfortable and clean and what an experience staying at the glacier one we will never forget. We had read the food was expensive and not good, rubbish it was no more expensive than anywhere else there […] was a 15% service charge but still was not the most expensive meal we had during our visit to Canada, the restaurant was Lovley and what a view, would highly recommend you won't be disappointed. "Good location opposite the Athasbasca Glacier"
You definitely can't check in until 4pm so don't get there early. The expensive restaurant doesn't open until 6pm and the cafeteria doesn't offer anything worth trying.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a good place to stay if you are arriving later in the day to see the glacier and don't want to get back on the road. The view of the glacier is beautiful. The restaurant has good service, friendly staff, and prices tha you would expect for such a location, ie bit pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't plan to arrive after dark."
This hotel is very nice once you find it. The room was spacious and very nice. The staff were helpful and the view was wonderful. But we arrived after dark and there was not a single sign indicating that the hotel was there, where to park, or how to find your way at all. Desperately seeking the hotel, we parked in the only obvious parking lot and climbed […] several flights of stairs in complete darkness to find a deserted building. Thankfully it was unlocked. Finally after making our way through the entire building we found a door that said "hotel lobby". The staff told us to go back in pitch darkness (down those stairs again) and park on the other side of the building where tour buses were parked, then cross a footbridge and walk in to the hotel lobby. There is not a single light in the parking lot or the walk (including the footbridge) to the building. We had to carry all of our luggage and children in complete darkness. I know it is a national park and they want to keep lighting and signage to a minimum, but zero is completely unacceptable. I can't believe you would ask people to do this. If we hadn't had our child's reading light with us, I don't know how we would have found our way. I am still pretty upset about it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect for the Columbia Icefield"
We enjoyed our one night stay at the Glacier View Inn. It is located above the visitor centre, so you can join a tour from the building. Due to the late arrival of our train in Jasper, it was dark when we arrived. A helpful member of staff helped us in with our cases. We were given a large room with two queen beds. There was a coffee maker in the room. […] There is no Wi-Fi available at this hotel, or any internet even with a cable. At night it is very peaceful, but that soon changes in the morning. We had a view of the glacier from our room. Breakfast and evening meals are available but neither were included in my room price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The ONLY hotel for miles around!"
Amazing location and v convenient if doing the glacier express experience (highly recommended). Rooms are clean, spacious and with mezzanine, however mattresses were all very saggy and unsupportive. Restaurant food extremely expensive ($16 breakfast omelette).Genuine Expedia guest review
The surrounding area was absolutely beautiful, however the hotel seems fairly new as there was not Alot to do at the hotel. Found several mouse traps with moldy cheese behind the couch and bed. The staff in the lobby seemed to be in a really bad mood as we checked in. There was no WiFi or any way to get online, no dvd player and about 5 channels on […] the TV, so if you're ONLY there to sleep, it's fine, but for $500 for a 2 night stay, I would expect a bit more from the actual hotel. "Just go there for the view"
Glacier View Inn is deep in Icefields Parkway where there is no cell phone reception, no WIFI and no radio stations! The room is a decent size with a mezzanine that has 2 more single beds. The only heating available is a tiny baseboard here so expect a dry room. The Inn is located in Icefields center which handles probably thousands of visitors everyday, […] buying tickets to explore Columbia Icefields. The biggest complaint of the center is the absolutely ridiculous prices for food! $4.25 for a tiny muffin and $20 for poor quality burgers and fry, and $2.45 for a chocolate bar! I recommend you stay there 1 night to rest from the long drive, do the Glacier Skywalk then get back to civilization! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed one night at the Glacier View Inn as we had booked a Glacier Ice Walk the following morning (which I can thoroughly recommend). We were unsure about our choice of accommodation from previous reviews but need not have worried. The reason you choose this hotel is not because it is the lap of luxury but for the location - where else in the world […] can you wake up to the view of a glacier. The room is clean, comfortable and had all the amenities expected, apart from a fridge which we could live without for one night. The room is large with an upstairs - perfect for families. There is no wifi but we saw this as a welcome break and relaxed and enjoyed the views. The staff are extremely helpful and made us most welcome. As a guest of the hotel you do not need to drag your bags up the stairs as the hotel parking is located in the coach parking area which is a short walk over a bridge into the reception area (no stairs). The food is expensive and the only option after 6.30 pm is the restaurant. We made sure we ate in the coffee shop prior to it closing at 6.30 pm which is still pricey but cheaper than the restaurant. For breakfast we had bran muffins and fruit with us which did not require refrigeration. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
