"What a view"
The room I got was a queen bed in main room and two standard beds at attic. What a surprise. Kids loved the setting. It is at the 3rd floor of Glacier Info Center. A slice of moon high up, a cup of tea at hands, read ancient marks on glacier face by the deck, and listen to the remote cracks with heart. You are yourself right there.

"Not for anyone who need cell phone or internet"
Pro: Nice view and clean room. Decent CAFE. Con: No cell phone signal. No internet. No business service like fax. No frig or microwave. Not even sign outside building to make it clear that this is the building for the Inn. We spent quite some time to look for the Inn around the area, hoping to see a sign!

A lovely quiet place, but not well marked. Someone there at the location didn't even know it was a motel. Hard to find where to check in. No air. Very expensive restaurant that was the only place to eat. Cute rooms with a loft.

"Quiet, Comfortable Room with a Glacier View"
It was a little odd that the hotel is on the third floor of the Icefields Visitor Center - but the room was nice and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the linens were nice, and the towels and bathroom items were good. We had a glacier view room -- but the window was smaller than I expected. Our room had a loft, which was nice for the kids. It was very quiet in the evening after all the tour buses left the Icefields area.

"Only lodging option at glacier"
Hotel is expensive for type of lodging, but you are paying for the convenience of staying at the glacier tour staging area directly across hwy from glacier. Dinner at restaurant was very expensive for Chinese food and our room smelled from greasy kitchen cooking directly below. On the plus side, you are ready to go for first tours in the morning, avoiding crowds from tour buses arriving later in the morning. Views are spectacular !

"Near the glacier, but not much else."
Nice place considering it's the top level of the glacier visitors' center. The room had a loft with 2 twin beds upstairs and one queen downstairs. Very convenient for visiting the glacier, but a long way from everything else in the park, including the town of Jasper. The restaurant is decent but expensive.

"Hotel not close to Jasper"
The hotel is located in a very lonely area, no population or any other business in 50 km radius. Nothing much to do. Thought the restaurant staff was excellent, they were very friendly and the food was also very good. In short it is good place to stop by have lunch, see the glacier and move on to the Jasper village. The location is very misleading.

"The view."
The Glacier View Inn unfortunately, short of a beautiful view, did not meet my expectations. The signage directing people to the hotel was inadequat, both inside the facility as well as outside signage. I spoke with a merchant in Jasper who said he had about a dozen people so far this year asking for direction after passing by the hotel some 100 kilometers earlier. The unempathetic staff pointed to the restrictions placed on them by Canada's National Park system for the lack of signs. I however think this is a weak explanation since so many others apparently have driven a great distance out of their way and the cloth sign could be darker and easier to read. Even more confusing is the entrance for the hotel says buses only which does not allow for someone to drive up to find out if it is in deed the location they are looking for. The room was nicely decorated and spacious. It seems like the facility is more geared towards tours of the local glaciers over maintaining a hotel-like atmospher. There was no ironing board in the room and the room lack ventilation.

"Location is the key"
Beautiful views of the glacier and very few other options within an hour of the glacier make this property worth considering. However, the price is very high for the quality of the room and amenities offered. The correct parking lot and front desk are extremely difficult to find as they are not well marked.

Response by Glacier View Inn
Dear Guest: Thank you for taking the opportunity to review your recent stay at the Glacier View Inn. We are glad that you enjoyed the beautiful view of the glacier from the hotel. Given the extremely remote location of the hotel and the fact that all on-site power is generator produced, we cannot provide a lot of the electrical and technological luxuries of other hotels. The lobby is currently under construction so it is somewhat confusing when entering the building. But rest assured, when the lobby is complete, there will be signage clearly indicating the location of the front desk so guests can find it more easily. We appreciate your insight and look forward to the opportunity of hosting you again on your next drive through Jasper National Park. Stayed here one night as part of a trip to Jasper and Banff National Parks. The room was clean and comfortable. Booked a glacier view room and the view was gorgeous! "Literally - this IS the glacier view!!"
This is a MUST DO if you are in the Banff or Jasper area. We chose to stay at the inn for more time without the large groups of tourists who visit there daily. We had a grand evening hike up to the foot of the glacier, and the next morning we took an earlier trip up on the glacier before all the buses arrived. We saw two GORGEOUS RAINBOWS from our hotel window, and while on the glacier, we experienced a full ice storm!! Staying AT THE HOTEL gives you these opportunities that you would not have if just traveling through. Our hotel room was a corner room with a glacier view - WOW! What a view!!!

"Great location, friendly staff, nice hotel"
Best location for staying overnight to split the visit to the glacier and the skywalk, so that you can enjoy the stay in the evening to enjoy a quiet view to the glacier when all the day-time visitors are gone. You can then arrange an early morning visit to the glacier or skywalk with less visitors. The resturant was a little bit over-priced compared with the type of food provided. The hotel condition is excellent, and the staffs are all very friendly and helpful. The room's circuit breaker was tripped due to overaloading (electric kettle, hair dryer, and a few phone charger plugged-in), and the staff help to reset everything very quickly, it is understood that power supply in the mountain area is limited.

"Beautiful to look at, not a place to eat or sleep"
The building was super busy and full of people. The only options for eating where the cafeteria or the dinning hall, which were open opposing hours so you only ever had one option. Neither of these places were particularly clean and the food was quite over priced. Given the amount we paid for the room and the layout of the room, I expected a little bit more from it. The beds were full of springs and the shower barely worked. But the view was amazing and the room was quiet. The location was beautiful and I am certainly glad I experienced it, however, I would not go back. Nor would I recommend it as a place to stay for more than a single night or if meals were required.

"Beautiful Views"
This accommodation was completely worth what we paid. My partner and I stayed with our 7 year old who loved the loft area with two single beds that he slept it. We also enjoyed a evening walk up to the Glacier, which is a walking distance from the accommodation. Food is expensive in the cafeteria, but it's to be expected when it is the only source of food for hours! So if you are able to take some breakfast food etc it would be good idea :-)

"Lovely stay"
We arrived at 4 AM and were greeted by night staff and shown to a room with a loft. It was newely renovated and clean. Hotel staff were friendly and professional. There is no bank machine or cash back in this facility. The cafe and restaurants have great food, but limited hours. At the moment the only place to get an alcoholic beverage is at the restaurant. Prices are understandably high given the location. The nerest gas station is 54 k towards Banff, gas prices are high.

"Inn with a little surprise"
Wasn't really expecting much when booked online, but the room surprised us. It is huge, well-maintained and clean. Not to mention that the view of Athabasca Glacier from our room is magnificent. Although there isn't much to do around the area (besides the Glacier and Skywalk), the overall experience in the Inn is still considered a good stopover, before heading to Jasper.

"Icefields Parkway Spectacular view"
I've rated this hotel 5 stars because for the location - its as good as it gets. Be warned when you get to the Athabasca glacier, there's no connection to the rest of the world - no mobile coverage by anyone, no wifi - nothing. Just you & the ice. This place operates only for 6 months in the year, the rest of the time it is abandoned/closed. For that it is better than I expected - rooms were clean, staff were very pleasant, helpful & cheerful - and of course the view is absolutely spectacular. The restaurant isn't cheap but the food is good. There is also a café but in my opinion the restaurant is better value for money than the café.

"Didn't enjoy my stay"
Hotel is extremely hard to find at night. There are no lights and no signs to guide you to where the parking lot is. Finding the place was extremely frustrating. Hotel bed sheets smell very stale. The rooms look very creepy/eery. The walls are poorly insulated so noisy neighbours are an issue. Food on the 2nd floor is extremely overpriced and extremely poor quality. I really did not enjoy my stay and couldn't wait to get out of here. No matter how cheap, I will not be booking here again.

"Glacier Escape"
Hotel was clean and bed comfortable. Our room was hot which opening the window didn't help. We should have told the front desk to change the room as other guests said their room was fine. Our fault. I found the dining room prices very high. A hamburger was $20 and it was nothing special. A burger at Miette Hotsprings, also in the park, was half the price and better. We enjoyed the Glacier Adventure and Skywalk and sign up was right there at the lodge. So easy!

I was very disappointed in our stay, my husband and I were booked to stay for 2 nights and we left after the first night. There was no wifi or cell service, the restaurant was over priced, the hotel room had wallpaper coming off the wall and we almost drove past the hotel because it was not very well lit. "Nice experience, beautiful view"
Finding the lobby, which everybody seem to have a problem to locate is non sense. More directions are needed. We were 4 person in our party and none of us could find it. After, you find the lobby, then you have to deal with getting your luggage in your car, which is very far from the hotel. Guests should be able to bring their vehicle closer to the hotel to unload, then parked it the other side of the bridge. After you are ready to go to your room(s) everything is fine. Nice hotel, nice room, nice dinning room. The problem is that after check-in, which is not a pleasant experience, your expectation(s) are low, but don't worry, everything is excellent after that process.

"Only stayed because of location"
We knew we had a huge day of driving and exploring planned from Miette hot springs so booked this as we expected to be in late and had arranged to do Skywalk and Glacier Adventure... So figured overnight here, for early morning glacier. On arrival we were greeted very rudely and arrogantly by a young Australian girl. Anyhow, room was as expected- worn carpets, furniture ok, cleanliness a pass. It's not awful but it needs a bit of TLC. Kids loved the fact that they had an upstairs bedroom to themselves. So, space was a plus. Lumpy pillows. Noise level ok. Saw mountain goats from our window in morning. Great view of glacier from hotel restaurant. Chinese dinner at restaurant was unexpectedly good.
