Stayed here for one night in order to catch an early roscoff ferry. Hotel is amazing for the price. Very clean and comfy room, lovely bathroom etc. free parking is a major bonus. Saint pon de Leon is a smallish town but has some nice restaurants to chose from. Would recommend .

We used this hotel as an overnight stay before an early ferry from Roscoff to Plymouth following a holiday in Spain. It is situated in the middle of the town with off road parking. The hotel owner could not have been more friendly and helpful and suggested 3 or 4 restaurants for our evening meal which were 50-100 metres away. Very nice Hotel right in the centre of the town. Parking around the back of Hotel. Friendly owners. Close to restaurants in particular Breton one which was recommended by owners - succulent scallops cooked in saffron sauce.

We found this hotel particularly clean and fresh - spotless in fact, although the room itself though adequate was quite small for a stay of several days. Maybe they could have kept a bit more of the room and made the bathroom a bit smaller when making it en suite? The manager (owner?) was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very substantial […] with cereals and plenty of fresh fruit along with the usual continental breakfast, it was very peaceful and quiet and we would certainly recommend it to other people. We arrived quite late from the ferry plus coping with a detour,and were warmly greeted by Isabel the owner.my husband had been ill and was quite weak so she carried our bags up to the second floor room. Isabel spoke very good English and the Hotel was all that was promised No hesitation in recommending this Hotel.

We arrived late at night. We were welcomed by the proprietress and shown to our room. It was very clean and tidy with an en suite shower. In the morning we had a well presented breakfast and a chat with the proprietress. It was all very friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who is likely to go to this area of France.

Quite simply, this was the cleanest, most efficient, friendliest little hotel I have ever stayed in. Our double room wasn't large, and it had only a shower rather than a full bath, but it was large enough and was well-equipped, and was SPOTLESSLY clean. I took my own hairdryer, but I think you would only have to ask and anything like that would be supplied. […] The rooms seemed to be well-insulated, and I heard NO noise from any other room, although the entire place was "full up" for some of the nights we were there. The hotel location, and wonderful secure parking area, is SO central that everything --- cathedral, tower, restaurants, shops -- is within a five-minute walk. The continental breakfast, more generous than that found in many of the local cafes and for exactly the same price or less, ensured that we opted to have the hotel breakfast every day. Many of the sites we drove out to during our week-long stay in Finisterre were at the thoughtful recommendation of the proprietor, who knew the fine line between being very friendly and being too pushy or in-your-face. In fact, she was someone I would like to have as a personal friend, and I'm just sorry that we're not living in the even the same country! I have stayed in more luxurious accommodations in my life, but I've never been more pleased; in so many ways it exceeded my expectations, and I would HIGHLY recommend it.....but book early, or you may miss out on this one. The Hotel du Cheval Blanc is a 2* hotel in the lovely village of St-Pol-de Leon. From the moment we walked in we were made extremely welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The lady who greeted us spoke very good English (thank goodness), explained that she had allocated a twin room, not a double, as she had seen on the booking form that the guests […] were myself and my 14year old daughter, and was also aware of our ferry time the following morning... Although this was a one night stay we would have been happy to have stayed longer. The lady owner was extremely helpful when we arrived on our bikes after a week long cycling and camping holiday around Nothern Brittany. Despite the pouring rain she showed us where we could store our bikes overnight in a locked garage and she even helped me unhook my […] cycle panniers which were by now a bit mucky! The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and the fact that we could have the radiators on in chilly July was great because by now we were both cold and wet and we needed to dry off somewhat. Breakfast was great also. It was the usual fare of bread, croissants, cereal, fruit, orange juice and coffee; but a nice touch were the pots of organically produced jam on the tables which were different flavours. Ours definitely had a hint of cinnamon. Check in and check out was very efficient and we found the owner to be extremely pleasant and professional. A great stay, great location at a great price. The Cheval Blanc is conveniently placed in a quiet back street in the centre of St Pol de Leon and with its own off-street parking. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable but could do with coffee making facilities. Good breakfast with home-made conserves. Overall, very good value for money.

The hotel was close to the ferry port and easy to find, we were warmly greetd by the owner on arrival and it was nice to stay somewhere with secure parking. We knew exactly where this hotel was having stayed there several times over ten years ago. We only abandoned it as the rooms did not have en suite facilities at that time but having seen on this website that the hotel was under new ownership and had been refurbished we were happy to try it again. We were not disappointed ! The hotel is ideally situated […] in the town centre only yards from a choice of restaurants and bars. It has a good carpark at the rear of the property though the street and access to the carpark is very narrow and not helped by cars parked on the road. It is a perfect place to spend the night when arriving on the ferry in Roscoff in the evening or when leaving on a morning sailing. The owner is friendly and helpful and tries to speak English. A good basic overnight hotel and so much better to spend a night here in France than in a cramped cabin on an overnight ferry. We will return ! Read more
