people kept us up most of the night . I will assume they were out parting. I asked the front desk manager to let the girl in her room as she was drunk and pounding on the door for over half an hour, but she did nothing as alot of the guests were waking up thru this incident. Hotel is in a great location to all the main tourist attaractions. As far as the room itself, we were not pleased. We booked the attic room from the website, that had 2 double beds & a room above the other. At check in they gave us a room with one double bed, and a small second attached room with twin beds. Bathroom is very tiny, shower has only enough room for you to stand, not extend your arms & it smells like the restaraunt below is coming through the vents into the bathroom. This hotel is right in the heart of the old towne and during the day it was very convenient. At night it was a bit noisy and wild, and may be intimidating to some. The hotel is in a fantastic locations, right next to pretty much everything and an easy cab ride to everywhere else. Could use some updating. Beautiful hotel in the city center. The location was AWESOME. It was right next to the Old Town Square and tower of Prague. It's a 3 minute walk to the Starometska(Spelling?) metro station and a very safe area. The room was great and had LOTS of charm. They have free WiFi and DVD players. YOu can also rent a lap top. I would advise anyone considering staying at this hotel to stear clear. When we arrived at the hotel at 11 am we were able to check in without a problem and were excited to get a little rest prior to starting our adventure in Prague. We walked in our room which was an adequate size and I went to brush my teeth. I turned on the water and the fixture […] snapped off. I was a little disappointed with the quality but figured we would just need to be placed in a new room. The reality of what then happened was far different. I called down to the front desk and they said they would call the manager. The front desk called back a few minutes later and said the manager would be there in about an hour to fix the problem and that we would be responsible for the repairs. I tried to explain to the front desk what had happened but they said I needed to speak with the manager. I became a little more perturbed but still figured the manager would be reasonable. Again, I could not have been more wrong. We waited about 45 minutes for the manager to show up. When he arrived without looking at the sink he already had the correct part in hand. Obviously, this was not the first time this had occurred. The repair took him all of about 2 minutes. I tried to explain that all I had done is turn the water on and he refused to speak with me and that I owed 800 crowns for the repair. Again, I tried to explain the situation and he stated that if I mentioned it again I would owe 2500 crowns. Finally, I decided I was cheated but had no real recourse. In summary, the location is great but rest assured if there are any problems you stay will be quite sour. I am certain you can find a more reputable hotel in the same area. Read more

We had an attic room which had 2 bedrooms, one king size and one with two twins. It was plenty big, we did not feel we were on top of each other like a normal hotel room. The employees could not have been more helpful and went out of their way to assist with restaurant reservations, theater tickets and train schedules. Close to everything! In prague you'll within walking distance to almost everything....bring confortable shoes- coblestone streets will beat you you up...but what fun and charm! We were in room 17 (top floor) it's a clime! No joke! Nice room bigger than we expected. One odd thing is that the bathroom and the sleeping area are on separate levels (about […] 15 steps - rather steep). There were 2 large windows in the room facing the enclosed courtyard with the restaurant kitchen below and 4 Small windows looking out on the rooftops. We opened the windows at night to get some air flow - nice and cool. During the night you'll hear the chimes of the Astronomical Clock. We did not eat the breakfast buffet, just had coffee. The small breakfast room was always packed with people and rather hot. Just outside the hotel door (turn left) there is a small pastry shop with wonderfull sweet treats, sandwiches, breads and coffee. You can eat it there (TADY) or take it with you. The staff is very nice and accomidating. You'll get an actual key to your room - ONE key (not a key card) , and they want you to leave the key with the front desk when you go out on the town. We stayed in the Prague Golden Age Hotel our first night in Prague (long story that has nothing to do with booking this hotel) and that was a nice place as well, although not as clean the location and comfort of the room was tops and cheaper and we were able to get a room just 30 mins after arriving in Prague airport at 10:00pm - without getting ripped off due to last minute booking (literally)! We enjoyed Prague, it's small cobblestone streets - GET LOST IN THEM (especialy in Mala Strana), IT'S WONDERFUL AND YOU MAY FIND A SMALL OUT OF THE WAY CAFE OR RESTAURANT - A REAL GEM OF THE TOURIST BEATEN PATH (unless you absolutely must have a frap at starbucks and by some wierd fluke your city in US does not have one). Perfect location around the corner from Old Town Square. Close but not right next to noise. An old basic hotel but clean and staff friendly. Bathroom OK tho no shower curtain. Enough space to put clothes away. Two downsides: no elevator (I was on 4th floor) or air conditioning. Our lodging for 4 which consisted of a standard hotel room & an attic room connected via a set of stairs. Both rooms were spacious, but the attic smelled musty and you do need to watch out for the low attic beams. While we would like to open the windows, the lack of screens to keep out the mosquitos and bugs meant that we could only open the windows […] slightly...and the weather was hot. Maybe the screens would detract from the historical look of the building, but it would really have helped. No complaints about standard hotel room. Stairs up to our room was steep, but that's to be expected in an older building - which we chose to experience how it was like living in the old days. The hotel was very centrally located to the subway, main square and eateries. We pretty much walked everywhere for 4 days. Though taking public transportation to the Castle could save some wear and tear on our legs. The breakfast consisted of bread, pastries, cold cuts, sausage, cereal, juice, milk, yogurt, fruit, and etc. However, there must be something about European custom that the milk and yogurt are often not very chilled, almost room temperature; not just in Prague, but in Germany too. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly. There is a computer at the front desk available for use, and can borrow a laptop for free (just need deposit). Overall, a good value and centrally located hotel full of charm, but wish they install those screens. Read more

We (me, my wife and two daughters aged 16 and 13) were in Prague for New Year and the location (literally paces from the Old Town Square) was ideal. Also easy to walk to all the main other sites. Considering the time of the year, I thought it was great value for money. The receptionist on duty when we arrived and departed could have done with some festive […] spirit, but she was the exception. We had one of the split level, attic apartments on the top floor. The stairs (no lift) became a bit of a chore, particularly with luggage, but the room itself was worth it. Wood floors and beams all adding to the atmosphere. DVD in the room helped when we needed a rest from sightseeing. Only small negatives were the size of the shower/toilet in which you would struggle to swing a cat and some early morning noise on one side of the hotel. The cold buffet breakfast was more than adequate. There are only four/five tables in the breakfast room so not sure what happens when there's a rush on - fortunately didn't affect us. Our private taxi transfer (1100Kr return) dropped us right outside the door. Unless you struggle with stairs, definitely worth considering. Read more

A quaint old hotel making use of the original features. The hotel is actually in 2 separate buildings and although we booked 2 rooms to be together for a family holiday we were given a room in each building - not very useful at all. When we asked about moving to be closer the receptionist wasn't helpful at all. Given this, it was always warm and is so close to the Old Town Square that it perfectly located for a Christmas time visit. Floor and bed were loud and squeaky. There was no elevator; only narrow, winding steps. Our room was on the third floor which became quite a haul with heavy luggage.
