We''ve stayed here about 8 times in the past five years. THough not central the neighborhood feels like an authentic French community rather than a tourist zone. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of 2012. We chose this location because of the near Metro station and the canal. Given that it is an Inn Express, we knew we weren't going to have all the amenities a hotel could offer. We found a few issues with the room that we could live with but then the service was just terrible. It wasn't […] my first time in Paris and I knew from before that people were just not friendly to Americans and this last visit continued to prove that. As we arrived at our room, we wanted a cold beverage and I called downstairs to see if there was an ice and/or vend machine on the floor. The phone did not reach the front desk, the call was always drop after being on hold for 3 minutes. I went to get ice from the bar and they gave me 1 small plastic cup. I said it was 2 of us and they said that was all they could give us and to come back down later for more. Another night when we returned, we wanted to know of a near restaurant and we were told in plain English "I don't speak English, ask someone else" We came back to our room to find our used towels folded and back it their place. We had made a bag with trash and put it by the door, it was pretty obvious it was trash but it was not thrown out, it was left in our room. The free breakfast was at 7:30 and as I came downstairs to have some breakfast, I waited 45 mins for the actual warm food to come out, it never did; I ended up having a ham sandwich for breakfast because the eggs never made it. A very nice and clean hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good with both hot and cold food, and the attendants were neatly dressed and helpful. This is a nice hotel, situated on the Canal de Villette. If you walk out of the hotel and turn to the left, you'll have a pleasant walk along the canal. Shortly you'll come to a small pedestrian bridge; you can cross over it and see the top of the Eiffel Tower to your right (it's not close by, but the metro easily takes you anywhere you need to go). […] There are restaurants and a big movie theatre you'll pass, after crossing the bridge. Then, it's just a short walk to that section of the city. Since this area is not touristy, you'll pay lower prices for everything from food to clothes to souveniers. The hotel is modern and clean and the rooms are pleasant; we got a room overlooking the canal and the view was enjoyable. The staff was very pleasant; they all spoke English and even had a discount coupon for EuroDisney (adults could go there at children's prices, which was about $75.00 USD, and another approx. $8.00 for the coupon). The breakfast was quite adequate; they had scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and jam, tea and coffee, croissants, cocoa, cereals of many varieties, and a good selection of yoghurts. We totally stayed 5 days at this hotel. On the first day, we're given a room on the first floor. This room was no privacy at all. The people on the street were so close to us. But we had to accept the room because staff said this was the only available room. So we made a request for a different room of higher floor on the second day. They made it for […] us. However, the room was too small. We couldn't even find a space to open our luggages. That room was impossible for 2 adults and 1 kid to stay. Again, we're told we had to accept it because staff said this was the only available room. So we would like to escalate it their senior management. But we're told that their manager was on leave and will be back on the day we leave. It's totally unacceptable. The overall arrangement was so bad. And they finally arranged a better room for us on the third and fourth days. As a consumer, we always like choices. This was my 1st European vacation. This hotel was great. A 5 minute walk from the Metro and about a 20 minute commute to the city. I did not know the electrical outlets were different from what we use in the USA but the hotel did provide us with adapters so we could use our electrical equipment. Warning you will have a wait for the breakfast buffet […] but we went around 9:30 and there wasn't a line. The staff did a wonderful job of refilling the food supply. During our 3 nite stay we experienced hot A/C in the room, no A/C in the hallways and when we mentioned it to the front desk they assured us that the A/C was working fine. We tried leaving the windows open but the smell and noise of the street and canal this hotel is built over was unbearable. If we visit Paris again we will find some place else.

Nice clean room with big bathroom. Toilette can be separated from rest of bathroom. TV was acting squirley. When I mentioned it at check-out, the lady added it to the maintnance list right away. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The cleanliness is still as high though the rough edges are starting to show through as last time I stayed was just after the hotel opened. The service from staff could be a lot better. Reception staff were excellent but housekeeping was very rude and carried on despite me asking […] if they would come back later and breakfast was great but few staff there to organise and with the numbers of guests they were swamped. Maybe I am being overly critical as when hotels open they are usually superb but my experience this time would put me off booking again.
