"Nice hotel easy drive into Paris and nice outlook"
We drove into Paris from London and the hotel wasn't difficult to find and the parking easy. We spent the evening back at the hotel and found a range of cafes and restaurants for dinner at a range of prices. The room was comfortable and breakfast offered a good range. We were a family.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A very good hotel that I definately recommend"
I booked this hotel after reading the positive reviews, but was still a bit concerned that it seemed out of the way and wondered if that would have a negative impact on our short break. I am very pleased to say that this in no way spoilt our enjoyment of Paris, but rather added to it. Our room was a good size with a view of the canal, spotless and well […] presented. The buffet breakfast was very good, mainly continental fayre but had sausages & scrambled eggs as hot offerings and even on the busy Saturday morning was constantly being replenished by the courteous & efficient staff. The hotel is located in a quieter residential area of Paris, with the immediate vicinity obviously having undergone some excellent regeneration. The canal area has some lovely bars & restaurants and the Riquet Metro stop (no. 7) is only a 5 minute walk, which interconnects with most of the other Metro lines making navigating the distances between the major area's of Paris a breeze. This was our 4th trip to Paris and we have previously stayed in the Opera quarter, but we found staying a bit further out a more relaxing experience, more French and less touristy. We will definately be staying here again should we return to this fabulous City. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great, clean, comfortable hotel"
Hotels in Paris can be very expensive and at the less expensive end, of questionable quality. We found a fantastic rate for the holiday inn express and knew the standard of the brand before booking. To find breakfast was included was an added benefit. We found it to be clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were very friendly and the location, by the […] canal and within 5 minutes walk of the metro was great. Our only concern was that for 2 of our 4 breakfasts, the hot option did not materialise. We asked at reception about it and the following morning the sausages and eggs were once again available in abundance! There is really no need to pay any more than necessary for a lower grade hotel closer to the city when this option is available. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Really nice hotel"
Stayed at this hotel whilst visiting Paris for a city break. Fabulous location on the canal with lots of cafes nearby. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast buffet has reasonably good choice.5 min walk to nearest metro. Staff extremely helpful and courteous. Will be returning. Only issue and its a small one was WiFi strength not great in room...we were on 3rd […] floor...but no problems with WiFi in lobby. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good place in Paris"
Parking available; such a relief to have secure underground parking in Paris. On a canal and near kids play area. Local metro. We used it as a base for Paris and Disney. Friendly helpful staff.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good value for Paris vacation"
Good balance of cost and convenience to the tourist areas; 5 minute walk to subway and about 20 minutes to city center; Rooms appear to be recently redone but no closet, safe, and only two power outlets by the desk for the entire room; nice shower but a fair amount of black mold in corners; sofa sleeper has a poor mattress but reception was kind enough […] to give us two extra comforters that we folded up and put under the sheet to cover the springs; breakfast was perfectly fine for 3-4 days Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful place to stay"
A quite beautiful place in lovely surroundings. Staff were very friendly and polite and very helpful. The local shops nearby were nice too. Very close to metro and a beautiful park.overall a great stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
We love this hotel because it is excellent value and in a great location. The staff couldn't be more helpful and we will keep coming back.Genuine Expedia guest review
I booked the holiday inn for the weekend as it was my wife's birthday. The location is good. Canal outside and very quiet. Metro is 400m away so quite easy to get to other places. During the week I confirmed inter connecting rooms as I have 3 children, however when I arrived the rooms had been given out. I was quite disappointed as I needed interconnecting […] rooms. Anthony was a lifesaver and managed to work something out so we could have our interconnecting rooms in the end. Overall, im pleased with the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good locations and services"
Good Hotel, well located. Close to "La Cité des sciences" and to a metro station. Our room was a little bit noisy, as it was just above two bars, with music until 1-2 am in the morning !Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is very conveniently located, 5 minutes walk from 2 metro stations - Riquet and Crimee, which are both in zone 1 of the Paris metro system. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to Gare du Nord on the metro, from where any further journeys can be planned very easily. The hotel seems very new and has a fresh feel to it throughout. Most rooms […] have a view of the canal nearby and its a lovely area, slightly quiet, away from the busiest streets of Paris. There are lots of shops and cafeterias nearby. The staff were friendly and professional, the breakfast was quite good, although the breakfast area can feel a bit busy at peak times. All in all, it was a very good experience and I would very happily stay there in future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very open feel close to Paris centre"
This hotel is a real gem. You feel you are at the coast when you walk back to your hotel rest after a day in Paris alongside the tranquil dock area that has been regenerated into a very desirable area. Travel to anywhere in Paris is easy via Riquet metro station a very short walk away. The reception and desk staff were always helpful and personally […] I prefer the fact that there are no porters fussing around. We payed for a balcony room and ours was one of the best looking down the canal (Room 611). We initially had a few issues trying to get the room temperature right - not sure if it was a fault or operator error on our part but the staff were very patient and helpful and sent technicians to sort out. There are loads of traditional French restaurants locally and whilst not celubrious we found suberb reasonable Indian food at Stalingrad (Paris Fried Chicken!). The breakfast was OK with plenty of choice albeit basic and always the same. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
First time, a couple with a kid, we stayed 5 nights. Great hotel, everything looks new and modern. We've had a room service every day. Ask for Canal view and high floor. Wi-Fi is great and for free. There is plenty of good takeaway shops around, restaurants and brasseries. 5 minute walk to Riquet or Crimee stations and then take a metro just about anywhere. […] It is in zone1 and not far from all the attractions and monuments. Coming from the airport, the cheapest way is to buy 9.5EUR ticket and take RER B to Chatelet and then change to metro7 to Riquet or Crimee. It's not the cheapest hotel but you get what you pay for. "Would definitely recommend"
Close to Subway or 20-25 min walk to Gare du Nord Clean bright pleasant with nice view of Canal Cons: You will likely have to wait for a table to clear if you show up for the included breakfast after 8:00 AM, also the food was just average.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ideal for a city break."
Great location, quiet and close to Riquet metro station. Lovely to stroll along the canal in the evening and there are some really good restaurants in walking distance. Reception staff were very helpful. Room was compact for 2 adults and a 13 year old and the beds weren't very comfy, but clean and fine for a short city break. Effective aircon in the […] room. Breakfast was good - choice and quality. The breakfast room does get busy, but the staff were efficient at clearing tables and seating people. Wifi was frustrating slow. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It's location and staff make it worth a stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"On the bassin"
Bran spanking new, the hotel is on the bassin de La Villette. Great exterior architecture, wood glass and metal, splendid view of the canal. A rather expensive seafood restaurant, with a marvelous patio, is adjacent to the hotel. Although it is situated a bit off the beaten track, the Crimée metro is two blocks away and, being in the northeastern part […] of Paris, it is closer to CDG airport and a walkable distance from Montmartre ( abt. Half an hour). The neighbourhood is not very nice, but the bistro la Bastringue, down the street, is charming, the food is delicious and quite affordable. I recommand this hotel ( if they don't hike the prices). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed for three nights & overall it was a good stay. Closeness to metro stations (Riquet & Crimee) was a big plus. Check in n Check out was quite smooth. "Smart canal-side hotel"
The Holiday Inn at Canal de la Villette is like most new Holiday Inns but has a nice location at the NE end of the Bassin de la Villette. Some effort has been made with the architecture and there is a nice greenhouse in the space between the wings. This makes the interior facing rooms nice and quiet. The area is around is quite lively during(the weekend) […] daytime and there are some busy bars in the evening. Room was comfy and pleasant, everything worked ok. "Good Hotel and excellent service."
Spacious room without cupboard. Staff was very helpful and polite and willing to provide assistance in tourism matters as well. Third sofa bed was not as comfortable for an adult. Safe was provided at reception. Tea/coffee in room and breafast included in cost were excellent. Location although a little far from main sites was still close to metro stations […] for easy access to main sites. Pharmacy and other restaurants and market within convenient walking distance. More expensive as compare to a hotel in Amsterdam with similar star rating and services. Probably this due to being in Paris. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for our short break"
Breakfast buffet excellent. Unfortunately no safe ,fridge or enough chairs in room, but there is tea making facilities in the room. Excellent shower. Close to metro (Riquet) and on direct route to central Paris.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Ok but not up to previous stays here"
Have stayed here before hence the rebooking but was disappointed thus time. The cleanliness is still as high though the rough edges are starting to show through as last time I stayed was just after the hotel opened. The service from staff could be a lot better. Reception staff were excellent but housekeeping was very rude and carried on despite me asking […] if they would come back later and breakfast was great but few staff there to organise and with the numbers of guests they were swamped. Maybe I am being overly critical as when hotels open they are usually superb but my experience this time would put me off booking again. If the price was lower then perhaps I would book again but I was there for the marathon so paid above the standard rate due to it and felt like I was overpaying for a less than advertised service pity though as they surrounding area is great and quiet at night also. The staff was amazing, and they all spoke English which made things easier. The rooms were simple, which in my opinion is a good thing. Very comfortable beds and great view of the Crimee river. "Great Hotel for a short visit to Paris"
Arrived late afternoon to be greeted by a friendly receptionist who checked us in efficiently and gave us some local information to help with our stay. Breakfast was good, room is a little mall, we had to wait to be seated a few times, but never for too long. Breakfast food was plentiful and of good quality. Checkout process was simple and fast. Room […] was ideal for our stay, clean, warm and with enough space. Location is good, a bit of a way out but away from the hustle and bustle of the centre, lovely setting by the canal. 2 metro stations within easy walking distance and 4 nice french restaurants, plain but simple french fare. Bright, clean, modern hotel. Rooms aren't huge, but perfectly fine by Paris standards. Good breakfast buffet of mostly cold food, with some scrambled eggs and sausages appearing after 7 / 7:30. Friendly staff. Great value for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Watch out !!!!"
Be careful when leaving anything in the room the cleaning staff are unreliable , my sons sweets and reading book got stolen also my friends mobile phone got stolen . The breakfast is boring you have the same thing every day ( scramble eggs !!! You could do more with eggs !) But the hotel is near the metro and the view from your room is nice .Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value but some improvements could be made"
We were happy to arrive and find that one of the Paris Plage locations was right in front of our hotel. Having breakfast included was a bonus, but the croissants were not of the highest quality. The cappucino maker and others choices were good though. Due to my Priority Club membership, we got upgraded to a premium canal view room but the mattress was […] lumpy and we had to twice request a replacement mattress, which we did end up getting and it was better. There could have been more room to unpack luggage, and a safe and small in-room fridge would have been nice. Finally the hotel was only a few blocks from the Riquet Metro Station but it seemed that everywhere we wanted to go was not on that line. We always had to transfer through Stalingrad station which was a hassle as the walk in the Stalingrad metro station to the other lines was LONG and would be difficult for people who were mobility challenged. Also, the hotel did not offer free wifi - only a computer station that you had to pay for (computer did not allow pdf files to be printed for some reason). Overall though I think we got good value for our buck but hopefully the hotel staff will read this and make some additions to make their hotel even better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place in a great location!"
The reason it gets 4 stars is the fact that we asked for a double room and got a twin room! So,you may want to check it with the hotel before you arrive (after you booked via this website) to make sure you get what you pay for.Or they will tell you "We do not have any double rooms for tonight" and you will find yourself in an unending debate which will […] go nowhere. The rest is just great! Room service is perfect! The room is perfectly clean! Location is just perfect! (when you come off the train in Riquet, take the exit on the left,it will lead you a street, take right and walk down to the end of the street. You CAN NOT miss it). Breakfast includes, pork&chicken ham and sausages, one kind of cheese, terrible juices, croissants, toast, cereals, hot drinks, yoghurt etc. Nothing spectacular and gets pretty boring after 2-3 days. There are pubs (bars) etc around the place, which is more reasonable than the central ones in terms of price. However, if you want the best deal, there is a bar called Belushi's. Food and drinks are nice and happy hour prices are a treat. It also has free wireless inside and it has a small but nice outdoor tables by the canal. Hotel will charge you for the internet. Bar is in the same building with the hotel.Just go out of the hotel entrance. take a right and right again, you will find it. There are noise, yes! but it happens only at the weekends! (Friday & Sat nights). Other days you will probably have less noise. It is Paris, it will never be quiet! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"View of the Canal"
When I made the booking, I requested an upper floor with a view of the canal. Upon check-in we were given a 3rd floor room with a great view of the canal and a church next door; the church bell chimes were very nice and added to the atmosphere without being disturbing. The room was a comfortable size, very clean and well maintained. Hotel amenities […] include a lovely breakfast buffet as well as a hard wired network connection for 30 mins in a 24 hour period. The need to use a patch cable to access the internet is not particularly useful with a smartphone or tablet; wi-fi would be much more useful. Also, 30 minutes is not much when you are planning your travels for the next day; additional time can be purchased. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Metro, which can get you anywhere in the city. However, one must take a train and 2 metros to travel between the airport to the hotel; allow about an hour for this trip. Also, if you have a lot of luggage it will be a challenge to manage the 2 metro stations (stairs, turnstiles and crowds) where you have to transfer between trains. "holiday inn express, Riquet"
The hotel is 5 mins walk from the Riquet metro station. The hotel is canal facing and is in a beautiful location. We had canal facing rooms and so had very good view from the room. We were 4 adults and 2 children and had two connecting double rooms which was very convenient. There is a good childrens play area just outside the hotel and so my 5 yr old […] enjoyed. Also there is a sea food restaurant in the same building on the ground floor facing the canal. Looked good but didn't try. Also there was a busy bar with pool table and large screnn tv as well in the same building. A few minutes walk and there is a small town centre were there was a chinese and indian restaurant. Also African, a small supermarket etc. We tried the Indian and the food was excellent. It was a very small place but food was very good and like home food, not too oily.
