Hotel Jaccarino - Massa Lubrense

Hotel Jaccarino is located on the hill above Sorrento, in the village of Sant' Agata sui due Golfi, and from the roof of the monestary at Il Deserto above the city you can look down on both the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Sorrento, therefore the "due Golfi". It is a spectacular location. The hotel is very nice and the dining room staff was very welcoming. […] You are about a 20 minute drive from the town of Sorrento and the cab ride was $45 Euro. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to town, which you must book 24 hours in advance, and the local bus service is excellent and the bus stops right in front of the hotel. We took the bus to Positano and Amalfi - the ride was about 1 hour 15 minutes to Amalfi, and the roundtrip bus ticket was about 7 Euro per person. Easy. The Tourist Office next to the church in the town was very helpful. The view from our room was great, the bathroom nice sized with a combo tub/shower. The bed was hard and not so comfortable. The front desk staff was efficient but not particularly warm or helpful. Read more

Cost much to meet friends for dinner in Sorrento. View fom balcony was magnicent! Met some loviely english ladies there, and we shared a day trip. Young lady receptionist was so helpful to me! I cannot thank her enough! Vincenzo as well went beyond his "ususal" duties to come to my aid. He is quite the gentleman... Staff in dining room, where I had […] part of a dinner, (I think I was charged for entire dinner while I only had soup and vagetable plate.) Very Stoic. Good location, situated close to St Agata (5 minutes walk on footpath). Regular buses to Sorrento and Amalfi stop outside the hotel. Excellent view of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples from the Veranda. This is a very pleasant and friendly hotel. Common areas such as the lounge were spacious, comfortable and well furnished. Our room was reasonably spacious […] with a decent sized bathroom. A safe was included at no extra charge. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and of reasonable quality. However, the coffee served (judging by its flavour and lack of caffeine kick) seemed to be Café d'Orzo, a coffee substitute made from roasted barley and common in the region. The evening meals were good quality and reasonably priced but the restaurant was too brightly lit for my taste and as such had a 'canteen' rather than a relaxing atmosphere. On the downside: the very audible 'ping' of the lift bell as it reached our floor could be heard clearly in our room. Irksome after a while! The hotel bus service was quite limited. All in all, a good place to stay if you want to explore the Amalfi coast, Naples, Pompeii etc. Definitely recommended. Read more

We chose this hotel for the lovely pool, views and nearness to Sant Agata. All of this met our expectations but the attitude of the Maitre D at the bar/pool bar was so supercilious it was almost beyond him to serve people. We never saw him smile - at anyone! Also the reception staff were not helpful when we approached them. Our room had a lovely view […] but lacked the 4 star touches we expected. The pillows were either rock hard or as if full of rubble, we had no cushions for our balcony chairs (even after asking) and the water glasses were never washed or exchanged. However the pool was superb and we wandered into the village each evening for a lovely meal amongst local families. The sun shone and the Shuttle bus to Sorrento worked well for us. Read more

Hotel Jaccarino is a converted mansion, with many sitting rooms and lounges to enjoy. We enjoyed sitting by the pool, loved the terrace which overlooks Sorrento, breath-taking views and the hotel staff were really nice. Their food is really good as well. And the small town shops and resturants are only a few minutes walk from the hotel. That said, I […] suggest renting a car which will give you more choice when wanting to explore the areas nearby, like Sorrento and Pompeii. We first stayed in the jaccarino Hotel in 1995 when we were on our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it then and were looking forward to a return visit which did not disappoint. The Hotel is lovely and its surrounding are still as good as we had remembered and the little village of Sant Agata is lovely and a great base to stay while still having easy access […] to the main town of Sorrento. My girlfriends and I went for a 4 days weekend. The hotel is on a mountain and a cab ride from Sorrento cost us 55 Euros. The location is quite and beautiful. There are a number of excellent restaurants in the town of Sant Agata. There's a public bus that goes to Sorrento, Positano and the Amalfi coast but be prepared for possible motion sickness driving […] along the winding roads. Our room had no air conditioning and was a rather stuffy. Hotel staff were not always accomodating and made us feel as though we were bothering them. If you want to be out of the city, this is perfect. There's a beautiful pools and a few things in the town. The food was great. If you prefer the hustle of the city - stay in Sorrento. The hotel's shuttle bus only goes to the beach and it doens't run Sundays, so it was of no help to us. We had to carry our own luggage and got stuck in the elevator for a short time. We just got back from this hotel after a 15 night stay and overall the review is good..the hotel is a mile up the mountain from Sorrento in the town on Sant Agata. The hotel free bus service is very good with trips into Sorrento every day except Sunday. The pool area is very nice, with beds available, but you can't bring your own drinks to the pool […] side. The views are stunning across the Gulf of Naples across to Vesuvius. The weather is very changeable due to the location, so be prepared in May/June. The hotel is quite dated in places and shabby in others, but we didn't mind that so much...the bar prices are high, especially if you take a stroll up the alleyway into Sant Agata, and you pay a third less in any of the local bars/resturants. We only ate once in the hotel on the Thursday night buffet and it was truly awful and cost us 20 euros each...we could have had an excellent three course meal with wine for that at Mimi's just a two minute walk away...we didn't eat again in the hotel.This hotel also seems to attract an older clientelle, who were generally a bit moany, so if you can tolerate this, its a great place to stay overall...the rooms are a good standard and we had robes and slippers for use over our stay, and were cleaned every day. If you want a view, I would recommend upgrading at booking to a sea view room, and not waiting until you get there to ask..breakfast good with toast and fruit freely available Read more

Hotellet ligger høyt hevet og med god utsikt over Sorrento og Napolibukten. Gratis hotellbuss til og fra Sorrento flere ganger daglig, gjør at hotellet ligger bynært og samtidig rolig tilbaketrukket. Hotellet ligger ved den lille byen S.Agata - som har flere spisesteder med nydelig utsøkt mat og ypperlig service og vennlighet. Dette er et godt alternativ […] til hotellets restaurant. Vi hadde egen leiebil, noe som kan være en utfordring på smale veier langs Amalfikysten. Vanskelig å få parkert ved Positano - men parkeringshus i Amalfi. Skinnende rent hotell med blid betjening. Ikke glem en tur til Ravello. Er dere glad i vandreturer, er det kart å få på turistkontoret i byen bak hotellet (S.Agata). Vi gikk flotte turer ved tettstedet Termini, med storslagen utsikt over til Capri. Kan anbefales ! Greie bussforbindelser fra hotellet i alle retninger, bør vurderes hvis man ikke takler sør-italienernes hasardiøse kjørestil, særlig i helgene. Das Hotel liegt sehr schön auf einem Berg. Gut für Autoreisende. Die Parkplatzorganisation ist hervorragend. Busverbindungen existieren. Hotelservice ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Meist steigen dort Reisende ab, die ein Urlaubspaket gebucht haben mit Halb- oder Vollpension. Das Zimmer, das wir hatten, war unterm Dach - ohne Terrasse oder Balkon. […] Dennoch: Geräumiges Zimmer, großes Bad. Wasserspülung funktionierte mal nicht und Klimaanlage fiel aus, wurde aber behoben. Für italienische Verhältnisse gutes Frühstück mit großer Auswahl, viel frisches Obst und sogar Rührei. Wir haben einmal im Hotel gegessen. Um 21 Uhr waren wir die Letzten und haben noch kulanter- und netterweise etwas bekommen. Das Essen war reichlich, aber nicht unbedingt nach unserem Geschmack, was sicherlich den Umständen zu verdanken war. Es war nach unserem Empfinden vergleichsweise zu teuer. Hanno anche servizio navetta sorrento albergo gratuito con diversi orari che lo rendono veramente comodo visto che ne a Positano ne a Sorrento è facile parcheggiare.

Das Zimmer war vollkommen in Ordnung, wenngleich man vom Lift in ein Nachbargebäude mit vielen Treppen, u. a. einer engen Wendeltreppe gehen musste. Die Lage ist etwas abseits vom Zentrum, sodass man ein Auto braucht.
