"The price is right for what you get"
The hotel is in a prime location for enjoying Venice Beach (as well as Santa Monica and Marina Del Ray). Steps from the beach and boardwalk, the room was clean, comfortable, and stylishly updated. Front desk helped us get a reservation at a nearby restaurant and was attentive to other concerns. Not recommended, obviously, if you are looking for a luxury […] hotel. I chose a cheaper hotel knowing that certain amenities may be lacking. However there were two in particular that surprised me despite the price: The first was the lack of both in-room coffee or free lobby coffee. The only option was a pay, electric coffee dispenser in the lobby--I opted for the restaurant next door. The other was that there was no cable in the room, and the few channels that came through were very fuzzy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was tiny. The carpet was dirty and stained & looked like it was pieced together. The bathroom had nowhere to hang towels. When we requested a roll away bed we were told it was a $15 fee. There was also a $5 servicing fee added at checkout. The windows have no screens and didn't stay open. I will not stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall the hotel was a 3.5."
Overall I would say the hotel is a 3.5. If you have ever been to Venice then you realize there is a lot more “crust” to the surrounding area than Santa Monica beach. The hotel is centrally located and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Plus the beach is only a few hundred feet from the front door. The staff was very helpful […] and friendly. The rooms were pretty simple and clean. I would recommend this place for a bunch of single kids looking to have a good time close to the beach. I had my young children with me and it was not idle for my situation. There were plenty of homeless folks roaming around across the street from the hotel. But this is to be expected in Venice Beach. Because of the staff and location this hotel is above average. Also if you drove a large SUV the parking is a little tight. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"For the money, GREAT VALUE!"
For the money, this is a great hotel. Sure it's not a 5 star resort, but for what I paid, I felt that I got my money's worth. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that asked. Between us customers, I'd of happily paid another $40 for this room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
You should think twice before staying at this hotel with family as there are people smoking marijuana outside the hotel and you get the smells in your room. The pics online look totally different to the reality of this hotel. Besides you have to pay $ 20 for parking which is located on the back of the hotel and it is so small and unsecure. The carpet […] at the room was so nasty and smelled like smoke. They charge $5 per night for tech services too. It was horrible. You can hear the people talking on the street and I was on the fourth floor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Location on Venice beach"
The location is right on the beach with lots of homeless people hanging around just outside after dark. A bit unnerving coming and going. Parking lot outside small spots. Do not stay if u have children, dirty rooms smelling bad. Will charge u for extra person and no refunds.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not at all impressed"
Parking was a joke, fees for internet that was not needed, carpet stained and very noisy hotel experience. The photos posted were far from correct very misleading on line stated that the rooms were just redone. Lots of homeless people hanging around the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"2 day getaway from a very busy schedule!"
The staff ( room attendants & desk staff) were very responsive to any questions or requests my wife & I made! Our room, on the 4th floor front corner overlooking the pedestrian/roller blade path, a huge beachfront, the bike path & the Santa Monica carousel & roller coaster ,a mile away, was outstanding! Our very clean room originally was (back-in-the-day) […] Charlie Chaplin's mistress's ! The roof top veranda provided views of California in 4 directions for miles & miles! We definitely will return on our next trip to California! The building needs new windows but other than that it was comfortable! Their parking lot is adjacent to the hotel @ $20,00 a day is reasonable especially for that area! The location is just perfect! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in great location"
Hotel was well kept and staff very helpful!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was in perfect. On the beach, great pictures taken from rooftop. Spacious rooms and bathrooms: however there are two things stop me from rating this hotel as excellent. .. first they need to change their carpets, and parking is cramped.... otherwise perfect...Genuine Expedia guest review
"It's all about location."
I wanted to be on the beach, and the hotel was just across the river of cement used by pedestrians, bikers, skaters, a great people-watching location. Venice is not Beverly Hills or the tourist parts of L.A., its quirky, its loud, its a hang out location. Yes its a older hotel, but I felt perfectly safe, the staff were very nice. No, they didn't carry […] my luggage, but they knew the area and could make good recommendations on where to go. You're literally walking distance to Santa Monica, the shops on Pacific Ave., places to drink/eat. If you don't want to be surrounded by people, don't come here, but if you want options and like to mingle, this is the place. Roof top viewing area was easy to get to, and the computer in the lobby was very convenient to print boarding pass. There is a $5 charge for internet and computer use, the hotel parking is $20 and the lot is small, only 18 slots and you have to back out unless there are empty spaces near you, but if you can snag one you're good for overnight as street parking is a challange. Worst parking ever. Bums all over. Hidden charges. On boardwalk but very dirty around. Unsafe to walk to parking area. Parking is horrendousGenuine Expedia guest review
Way outdated, over priced for the small rooms you get, carpets where stained everywhere. Felt like a motel 6 would not ever recommend anyone to come here & will not be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location, location, location"
If you want to be in Venice beach, this is perfect! If you don't want to be around crowds all day and homeless people all night, stay in Santa Monica. This is a cool, funky, old place. Loved the rooftop hang at night. For the money, can't beat it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"On the beach"
Convenient location, nice staff, well maintained. Why the plastic covers on the mattress? I would take those off, unless they are on for sanitation reasons. The view of the beach was great, and one is close to restaurants and sites.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable fun hotel on Venice Beach"
Cadillac Hotel is a funky fun place. The rooms are a bit small, but neat and clean. The lobby is fun, in a Venice sort of way. This is a perfect accommodation if you are looking for a beach location with close access to all that Venice, CA has to offer. We did not have a beach view, but those rooms appear to have amazing views. Check out the roof for […] a spectacular 360 degree view. We came for just an overnight in LA, but would stay here again for longer. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is definitely right for the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hard to park (unless you paid them $15/day for it), loud area with homeless people out front, other visitors seemed to be staying to party and it was loud all night. The room didn't have air conditioning and the accompanying fan to drown out the noise outside of the room. Nice bathroom and a spacious room, but rather dirty.Genuine Expedia guest review
Directly at the Venice beach boardwalk with view at the beach and ocean. Parking available for $15 beside the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nothin terrible happened on out stay. The hotel description I very misleading. They say nothin of the way it smells, how run down it is or the fact that it is surrounded by homeless people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right on the beach!"
Small, conveniently located hotel right on the Venice Beach. Bathroom recently refurbished, room itself moderate. Only ceiling fan for cooling, not enough. Friendly staff. Homeless can be a shock for first timers but normally nothing to worry about.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
if you're interested in the hardest bed in the world, homeless people sleeping outside the hotel and listening to the next rooms occupants then this is the place for you. Initially I booked one night at this hotel, then ended up using it as my base to explore other areas and stayed 6 nights! Gorgeous views, basic and clean rooms, very helpful staff, excellent location and an amazing cafe next door for breakfast! 10/10Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Front desk personnel were AWESOME! Hotel was clean and well kept. Standard rooms are very small and the hotel uses the minimalistic touch, no decorations or art on the walls, etc. If you are single or with friends and you are looking to enjoy the sights of Venice walk and the beach, this is the place for you. This hotel is VERY old so you can hear every […] slam of a door and people in other rooms. This wasn't terribly disturbing except for the family staying a couple of doors down whose kid came with them at 11:30 p.m. screaming in a fit and didn't stop for 30 min! This area of LA is not really a "little kid" friendly area. Rooftop was nice, watch the sun set. Overall happy with our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Relaxation + Location"
Simple and clean. Great value for location. Nice, helpful staff. We stayed two nights in Feb and the weather was 81 and 67.... perfect. A lot of homelessness but it was never an issue. I am asked for change more often in Boston on one walk than I was asked in Venice Beach the entire weekend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location middle of venice close to sight"
Booked last minute and hotel exceeded my expectations. Hotel is right on the beach close to lots of nice pubs and restaurants. The room was large had big kitchen and bathroom. "The Cadillac Hotel"
Hotel was middle of the road but the location is a bit see-die. You're right on Venice Beach which is ok during the day but the homeless come out of the woodwork during the night. I wouldn't recommend kids or someone without a thick skin.Genuine Expedia guest review
"right on the boardwalk, good place to stay"
Good room, front desk was very friendly and helpful. A little noisy outside occasionally, but not bad. The staff was friendly and quick to fill a request for a refrigerator. Right on boardwalk and next to a great boardwalk cafe.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location but..."
Nice hotel right on the beach. All in all a good place but some simple cosmetic fixes would've made a big difference. Lack of any trash receptacle in the room was the first thing I noticed. Cold night in LA and steady breeze coming through gaps in window frame was an issue as well. That said, I'd come back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel is pleasent, the only disturbing factor are the homeles who lie in front of the hotel but this is a fact where the responsibility lies with others, a little difficult to find at night for the first time also parking is not easy, but this is compensated by the staff who are very helpful, the location next to the beach is an important fact, […] if i was to come to the area again i would probably come there again. "Last minute trip"
Very tight quarters. Rooms are extremely small, and very minimal. Website said that rooms have refrigerators, this is not the case. Not is any ice available. Our radio/alarm/mp3 doc did not work, and was not replaced. Toiletries other than hand soap and shampoo not provided. The location is great, right on boardwalk but not a safe feeling/vibe at all. "Location was key"
It was by far the best deal around. Given it's location and proximity to the boardwalk, it was an ideal location for us. Literally 30 yards to the beach from the front door. Yes, there are a lot of homeless nearby, but that is expected pretty much anywhere along the boardwalk regardless of where you go. BUT BEWARE, the parking is less than ideal. Hidden […] "fees" - You can park in the lot directly behind hotel for an additional $15/NIGHT or chance it on the metered spots 1-2 blocks away. There is a $3 internet charge as well added to each room. But restaurants nearby, ability to go to beach in 3 minutes or less, and affordability far outweigh any negatives of this hotel. "Will not stay here again!"
Its not hotel its motel!!! The hotel was surrounded by homeless people. The walls and doors are thin, you can hear everything outside. parking fee is 15 $ and its not for 24 hours its just for night! Hotel is old and not in good condition for their prices! At photos it looks better than it is((((Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was clean. The staff were very friendly. Location was right on the beach, so it was nice falling asleep to the crashing waves. That is if the couple next door aren't feeling amorous. Walls are thin. But I would stay there again and would heartily recommend the cadillac hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"old chic hotel right on the beach!"
The Cadillac Hotel was absolutely perfect! It was just what we needed for our first night stay in California. It was located right on the beach, and has an AMAZING rooftop view. Although there was not free parking, or breakfast, the pricing what perfect for its location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Never stay here for business or good night's sleep"
Just say no! The hotel was surrounded by homeless people, at the door and in the dumpsters where the cars are parked. It gives a very unsafe feeling. The walls and doors are paper thin, you can hear when a cell phone rings next door. The staff blocked in my car so every time I wanted to leave I was delayed by at least 10 min. They also did not do a […] wakeup call which could have led to serious repercussions at the airport (thankfully, I woke up). There were hairs in the bed and the heat barely worked so the room and bathroom were very cold. Also, because of the street population and thin walls there is noise late into the night from the hallways and outside. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff was helpful and accommodating. The room we stayed in (a queen) was small, but comfortable. You cant beat the location---it is within walking distance of many bars/nightlife and the beautiful beach. I would recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I'm in LA local, so don't often stay in hotels in town. I had a party to go to in Santa Monica, so thought it was a good opportunity to do a little staycation. The location is awesome, right off the Venice boardwalk with great access to food and attractions. The parking is $15 overnight, but that's not too bad for beachside. The room was clean and minimalist/modern. […] We loved the large shower! The walls were a bit thin (we could hear neighbors and people walking by) but it didn't bother us too much. "A great place to experience Venice Beach Culture"
I stayed here the night before the LA 13.1 half marathon. It's literally 2 minutes from the start line at Rose. The staff was amazingly friendly, the hotel's decor is new and modern and it'd located RIGHT on Venice Beach. My room did need some maintenance. The overhead light did not work and one outlet didn't work. The elevator is slow as all get out. […] The rooms have NO extra amenities. There's a coffee machine in the lobby. Internet is an extra $3 a day and everyone gets charged. Parking is limited, it's first come first served and it's $15 a day. I'd stay here again because of the location, price and staff. Nice hotel great location but..the walls were pretty thin. Bed was good. Heating not very effective. Toilet seat was too small for toilet. TV nice but channels half empty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Worth it. Not sure why I got a $46 charge after I left.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't waste your money."
Dingy beach motel. Typical Venice Beach dump. Filthy sheets and linens, paper thin walls, tiny rooms. Spend an extra $50/night and stay in Santa Monica. Even the homeless guys outside the motel asked why we'd stay in such a dump. The website makes it look like a posh European style "hotel". It's not. They'll also throw a couple surprise daily charges […] at you that are not optional. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
