We needed a hotel that accepted pets & found this hotel right in the middle of the boardwalk. Rooms were small, no mini fridge & TV reception horrible, but we were only in our room to sleep. Hotel clean but needs an update for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This place is on the beach and they think that's all that matters. Cramped room, stained carpets, heavy cigarette smoke in the halls. It may be filled with tourists, but it feels like there are crackheads behind every door. This place does a lot of business and it's usually full, they should put some of the profit back into the building.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect location on Venice Beach....cool place but very dirty. Carpet in our room and staircase was filthy...stains on our comforters..so if you can overlook a little dirt it was ok - for the price plus paying for parking and WIFI, it should be cleaner. Would probably stay again - staff very nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We ended up staying elsewhere because of the deplorable conditions of this hotel. The pictures online are extremely deceiving. So disappointed!!!!! Go to Hotel Erwin instead.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a 2 1/2 star hotel. For that group, it is GREAT! The location couldn't be better, right at the heart of the Venice Beach Boardwalk. Rooms and bathrooms are minimalist and streamlined but clean. Parking and WiFi are extra but that is very normal for this area. The best part of the whole place is the rooftop. Grab a bottle of wine or a couple […] of beers, and watch the sunset over the Pacific. I will try to add a picture but it was really amazing. Whole experience was better than I hoped for in a 2 1/2 star non-chain hotel. I will stay here again when we come back to Venice Beach. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Carpet was very dirty, it needed to replaced. Bed sheets had stain. And window curtain didn't work well, couldn't get it to stay up. No window screen, any type of insect could come I to roomGenuine Expedia guest review
"Neighborhood not for kids."
I have my 13 yo son with me for Spring Break. Been to several hotels along the coast. This was different being Venice Beach. Just be prepared. My son was a little freaked out by the neighborhood and "Scary Clown" art graffiti found outside the hotel. The room was not bad. People that work there very nice. Parking difficult. Moved second night to room […] with a great view of beach palm trees and mountains. No AC but weather was cool at night. Glad my daughter wasn't with me when walked around! "Good location but not worth the price."
The room was clean but tiny. not even a coffee machine in the room. Parking is $20 a day on top of the high price for the room. If you are going to use it only to sleep at night and explore during the day is OK. Is in front of the beach and 4 mile walk to the pier and shopping.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the Beach"
It was overall good for a night a little hot and fan didn't really work and no air conditioner but other than that I had fun and bed was super comfy. I usually stay in nice hotels so I wasn't really used to downgrading but it was last minute and it was right on the beach! I might be back :)Genuine Expedia guest review
I appreciated being on the venice boardwalk, but what comes with it is the late night drunkeness, even with strategically being place on the opposite side of boardwalk and turning on the ceiling fan to drone out the load talking. The room was basic but the bathroom was pretty up to date. The rug was noticeably stained.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for us, iffy for some with younger kids..."
The biggest perk of this hotel is the cost and location! Our room was kept tidy throughout our visit, although the carpet and bedding were starting to show signs of wear and tear. The staff is friendly and helpful when it is within their means (eg. arranging transport and getting/giving messages). This is not necessarily the best hotel for a family […] with young kids, as there is no pool and the doors and walls don't buffer sound very well within the hotel. Our room faced the road side of the hotel which caused for some noisy nights around 3:00 am as well. HOWEVER, we like this hotel for the location to those we visit and the access to the beach! "Needs a make over"
We were there one night for the marathon so we dealt with it. Sub standard. All utilities were not in working order, no screen on the window to leave open to get air. Could have been a little more accommodating with assessible drawers and hangers for clothes and no high definition tv. In need of a makeover.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location and view can't be beat!"
The thing that made this stay enjoyable for us was spending time on the rooftop deck. It had essentially a 360 degree view of the beach and LA area. We were looking straight down onto the Venice boardwalk, and had a fabulous view of the sunset. We bought some take-out food from a nearby place and brought it up to the rooftop for our own mostly private […] sunset dinner. Not much up on the deck in the way of furnishings, but we made it work. The view can't be beat! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location near the beach and Venice boards,"
My father passed away while we were here and the staff was excellent. They helped us get the cab and check out in twenty min so we caught our flight at the last min. There are no words to relay my thanks to the staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
We weren't able to check in at noon, so we happily agreed to have lunch and a beer and come back. I reminded the desk clerk that we requested a view of the water and he assured us that we would have a beautiful water view. we returned at 2:30, the room still wasn't ready. Not really too distressed, we had more beers and came back at 5:00 to find that, […] although the room was ready, we had NO VIEW but for a tiny piece of the beach that we could see from ONE corner of ONE bed. that's it. to park a car is an addition $20 per day. there is an extra (mandatory) $5 per day for internet use, even if you don't use it. No closet, only one stand for a suitcase. all in all, pretty disappointing for a $150/night room. Every time I asked for any accommodation at all, I was told that since I booked through Expedia, there was nothing the hotel could do. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"overall good place"
Good service love that you can go to the roof and see the sunset and Venice beach. Room was clean and nice. Has some nice little food and bar's open late. Staff was polite and friendly. Overall was a nice place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"VERY basic hotel. Nickel and dimed for everything."
This hotel is VERY basic. As in all there is in the room is a bed. The carpets were dirty and the hallways smelled. The bathroom is also very tiny. Even though I received an "Expedia Mobile Special" I still don't think it's worth the money. Find someplace else to stay. I would even consider a hostel as a better value. Forced to pay $5 for internet per […] day which is not included in booking fee and if you're looking for a place to park add another $25 to use their cramped lot, which is the closest in the vicinity. You barely get a bar of complementary soap. There was space for another bed in the room because it was so plain, for an extra $15-25. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Location but VERY NOISY"
We came here for a night getaway to wake up in the Venice area. The location was great, staff was very friendly, the appearance inside is a bit run down (stained carpets, etc.) but the noise factor was insane. We could literally hear our neighbors turning knobs and breathing - so in the morning we were woken up every 5 minutes but anyone on the floor […] who was stirring, and the night was no better. This is frustrating when the point was to take a restful break and relax, but if you're just here for the location it's perfect. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not so satisfied stay at Cadillac hotel"
So much noise, old elevator, broken windows, cheap bed and pillows. Shower and bathroom were good. room had a great view but since the doors and windows are cheap, old and some broken, so much noise comes in all the time. Lobby is soooo old and worn out. They charge $20 for parking which they don't disclose and mandatory $5 fee for technology use which […] you cant waive. Parking and condition of the hotel are the major issue. Nice and welcoming staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
They need to invest a lot more in the hotel, the location is not bad if you know what happens in Venice beach, extra charges for wifi or electricity doesnt make any sense, however the worst is the fee that you have to pay in the closest parking lot, which doesn't even have security, I wouldnt recommend it for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Finding the hotel and Parking are MAJOR PROBLEMS"
Cadillac Hotel is in a web of one-way streets and small alleys along the beach area. There is no sign on the OUTside of the building that we could find after dark. My husband walked around the area and had to ask at a restaurant where the hotel was. As it was after 9 p.m., we did not go to the room, but paid for parking and went to dinner. When we returned […] a 11, the entire parking lot was filled, including the driveway into the parking lot. Shady characters were stumbling around in the parking lot drinking from bottles in brown paper bags. Homeless people were curled up on blankets on the sand a stone's throw from the front door of the hotel. The manager told us we would have to leave our car key with him to sort out the parking situation. We were driving a brand new car that we had just picked up a few hours earlier, and street parking was not an option within many blocks, due to the narrow alleys. The room might have been just fine, but we never saw it. We told the manager that we first needed a safe, legitimate parking place; he said he could not help us if we did not leave the key. So we told him we could not stay, and left to forage for a hotel room with a reasonable parking option. When we pursued the matter to have the Cadillac room charge removed from our credit card, the manager apparently told Expedia that it was our "perception" that was there was a problem. Buyer Beware! if you look for this hotel in the dark or want to park your safely park your car! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Location if you are wanting eclectic Venice!"
We were visiting our Daughter at LMU about 10 min away and wanted to be on the beach. For the price this location was great. The hotel was old but they tried to keep it well maintained. The front desk staff was very helpful. The parking was a little hectic but we always got a spot - the front desk was very helpful w/ this too. This is not a pampering […] hotel - it is a great location and a great price. Not great for families w/ small children. Young people or young couples would be best. I give it a 5 out of 10 stars. It was no Marriot hotel but I truly enjoyed my stay here. The man at hte front desk was very attentive and got us checked in 4 hours earlier then expected, They made sure everything was good at our room and the shower was AMAZING! It was a bit pricey . "Don't Stay Here If You Have a Car"
The way they list the parking situation online makes it seem like there is parking available at both the hotel and close by. When I checked in at night they informed me they had no parking and I had to drive over 5min away in an area that I didn't feel 100% comfortable parking my vehicle in. When I woke up early in the morning I discovered my car was […] towed. When I came back to the hotel I spoke with another guest that had the same exact problem. "Charming place in Venice"
Having booked an inexpensive hotel in Venice, I was a little nervous. Was it going to be a run-down dump in a scary neighborhood? In the end, I was delighted. The hotel is small and so are the rooms, but everything is clean, charming and friendly. There is a beautiful watercolor painting at the check-in that shows off the beauty of what that area and […] the Cadillac hotel were in the fifties. For me it really set the mood. I loved the giant old-fashioned bathroom that fills up with steam. There are no frills in the room at all. You sleep, you wake up, and you walk to the beach - that's all. Oh, and there is a beautiful restaurant across the street which I will have to try out next time we are here. Looks perfect for a cozy dinner. A definite do-again for me! The image on the website had absolutely nothing to do with reality. "Complete dump, terrible location, pot smoking"
we were shocked by the condition of the hotel. The carpets are filthy, staff mediocre, smell of pot smoke all over the place, paper-thin walls, disgusting and tiny elevator, scary people in the streets, nightmare parking lot (very few spots, head in only and must reverse to get out of the lot, inches of clearance between cars). we had booked 3 nights, […] but checked out first thing in the morning and are requesting a refund. "It's a good hotel!!"
We booked the hotel for 4 nights and I was pretty satisfied with everything! The rooms are clean which I think is the most important part. The only thing I didn't like was the street where the hotel is located! It's kind […] of dirty. "It's Venice Homeless Beach not Beverly Hills"
If you get a room on the side street you will not sleep. The windows are very old and in need of repair. The noise from the restaurant and the street you will not sleep. We were fooled by the nice photos and mislead into believing that the hotel is in good condition and clean. We found the hotel not at all like the images on hotels.com. The hotel accepts pets who urinate throughout the hallways on carpet that has large bleach spots everywhere -presumably a cleaning effort for the dog urine. The overwhelming disgusting […] odor of urine + Bleach was so bad, we had to sleep with the window open (chilly 60F weather at night) The carpet in the guest rooms was equally old, stained and smelled awful. We didn't walk barefoot or sleep under the bed covers. The lack of cleanliness was seriously bad. We would have been better off sleeping in the car. One night was enough. We got lucky and found a rate at the Delfina nearby that was actually LESS than this DUMP --after they added fees for everything but breathing.
