"Well located and nice staff"
This hotel is nothing fancy but the staff is nice and helpful. It is 2min away from the beach and they have a free parking lot. Rooms could be cleaner but overall it was not a bad experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"very close to the beach"
It was very nice to have this place so close to the beach. Was a block away. Full kitchen was useful, had a great time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, but could use an update."
Very short walk to the beach. Off the main drag. Very convenient location. We shopped and played nearby and made short loops back to drop things off. Made it easy. Walls are a bit thin, but that deals more with inconsiderate neighbors verses the hotel. Small pool. Friendly staff, but they did not clean our room the next day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okayish Hotel, Great Location"
Hotel was fine. For the price, it's pretty obvious what you are getting. It was clean however, and staff was curteous. Location is great. Walkable to every thing beachside and two blocks from the water.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The neighbors around us were entirely too loud, and we could hear the people in the pool all the time. Other than that, the motel was great and so was the service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Much better than I expected based on the price"
I wanted an inexpensive room near the beach and I'm glad I didn't let the previous poor reviews deter me. The City Center Motel is a great value option amid all the $100+ options around the Oregon coast, and it's a block from the beach! The room had everything I needed; Fridge, Microwave, TV, private bathroom, 12pm checkout, and a workspace. The bed, […] I admit like other reviewers, was not that comfortable, but I've slept in worse in other motels. I didn't try out the pool, but maybe next time because I'm sure I'll stay here again. "Nice for the Price."
For the price of this hotel, it honestly wasnt bad. We stayed for one night just to get away from Portland. You do get what you pay for, the bed was pretty stiff. And there is no fan in the bathroom so it gets very steamy during a shower. But the location is what makes it worth the pay. About a block away from the heart of downtown, and only a short […] walk to the beach. If you just need a cheap get away for a night and can put up with a bed that isnt the best, this is a steal deal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice economical and easy access motel."
When my daughter went to the front desk to see if the TV had a DVD player and if they had movie channels, she said it was basic cable and not DVD. but when we turned on the TV there were many, many channels - more than basic. We were going to go to a Video store and rent a DVD player. Glad we didn't. She should be told there is a huge selection of TV […] channels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"COMPLIMENTS ON OUR STAY AT CITY CENTER MOTEL"
The room was very clean and the hotel assistance were very pleasant. We would stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
I understand you get what you pay for... Although... This motel is super dingy and way outdated. I mean motel six looks like a 5 star hotel compared to this one. I decided I could look past that though. The walls are paper thin, and several creepy looking people live on premise. There was a dog barking all night in the room next to ours also. The worst […] part was there was easily a 2 inch gap between the door and the door frame, letting in light, sound, wind and everything. It also could have jeopardized our security since the door did not properly lock. They do not have black out curtains so it was extremely bright in the morning too. Neither my husband not I got any sleep. The bed was comfy, but that was about it. I asked for a refund and spent the rest of my trip elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice quiet hotel"
Stayed during spring break 2014 was nice and quiet!Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was very nice, location was great, rooms were clean. The lighting in the room is not very good and you have to dry your hair outside of the bathroom as there is no outlet. While the boardwalk feature is nice it tends to be noisy when people are walking and kids are running. I would stay there again short term, but would definitely not stay over […] a couple of days at the most. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
If you go in with the expectation that's it's going to be an older hotel then you will be fine. The chairs and mattresses need a serious upgrade. My mattress was not comfortable. Very saggy. Also there was a smell in the room that just made it uncomfortable for me. I'm not sure if it was because it was an old building or not. Ladies be aware that no […] hair dryer is provided. They don't even have one at the front desk to borrow. I highly suggest that the hotel at least has them for guests to borrow. Usually I'm only in a hotel at night to sleep so I can put up with a not so fancy room. The chair and the mattress however were so uncomfortably that it wasn't pleasant to sit in the room. I just couldn't get over the smell either. For those reasons I'm not sure I'll stay their again. The best thing about the hotel is its location. It's within walking distance to just about everything u may want to do. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice location, close to the beach, the room could have more electric outlets as there are only 3 in the room and they are used by their appliance such as TV , fridge and night table lamp. We unplugged the one for the fridge and it was SO old that our plug was not staying in!!! Pleas note: there no hair dryer either. We enjoyed our room at the very back, […] quiet . "You get what you pay for"

Grabbed a reservation at the City Center for a couple of nights so my dog could enjoy the cool beach weather. If you're looking for a four star experience, keep looking. The City Center is a budget experience at a budget price. Pros: Location - Sited a couple of blocks from the main drag and a couple of block from the Prom, the City Center couldn't be in a better place. Dog friendly - Got a dog, he'll be happy here. Price - Relatively cheap, though I did notice that walk up patrons paid less than I did with my reservation, somewhat aggravating. Cable - The television received 70-80 HD cable channels. Cons: Noisy - My room, 202, was two door down from the office. Sound was barely baffled and I could clearly hear the conversations of people passing by. My favs: "My heart weighs with anger." and "He pushed me down and I was crying." "Where was I?" "You weren't there." The room was tired. My dog spent most of the time in the room sniffing the well-worn carpet. The door didn't have a dead-bolt lock. (Other rooms did. I never discovered why mine didn't). The desk clerks weren't very helpful, though I found the housekeeping staff to be friendly and attentive. Didn't try the indoor pool. It looked small, but people seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The rooms are very small but was fine for my daughter and myself. I was disappointed that I went to the office with an issue and nothing ended up being done about it. I had a family of 6 (in a small 1 queen size room) across from me. Both nights I was there the children were running all over the place, banging on my door and trying to unlock it. I talked with the office and was told that they would speak with the party in the room. The second right was worse. The office staff needs additional training on how to handle customer issues. We felt unsafe and on edge all night long.

The hotel had an excellent position . right down the street from the promenade and close to the city center with the shops and resturaunts. The rooms are incredibly small. My room (single queen) was too small to have two people up and walking at the same time. We would have to take turns to get up and do something... When we asked to change rooms, right after we had checked in we were told that they couldn't further accommodate us because we used a third party site for our reservation (price line). Whereas I have ran into problems with rooms purchased through price line before and was never informed of this stipulation by other buisnesses. Seeing as how it was me, my girlfriend and mother we weren't comfortable all sharing a queen bed in an 9x9 glorified closet and the business hadn't given us any other choice, so we were forced to leave and drive home. not to mention the room wasn't even ready to check in to until 3 oclock in the afternoon. With a reservation in place.

No phone, no clock, television was on the wall of the side of the bed, no nightstand on one side of the bed and very cramped. Roomed smelled of stale smoke. Pool was very small compared to the pictures online. Even with a discounted rate, we could have stayed somewhere nicer for the same price. The only thing we did like was the very short walk to the promenade and beach.
"Just a night stay - dont expect more"

I stayed here considering the price it offered for a night stay .. i was really tight on a budget and hence i choose this one... Reception was open till 10:30ish night i guess by the time we reached there ... she was very helpful to co-ordinate the room and parking space ... about the room - as soon as we entered the room we found very different smell - like a bath soap or something - quite unusual for me ... but once you are inside the room you kind of get habituated ... lots of spaces in the room I must say .. chairs were worn and heavily weathered ... besides that everything was ok... only complain i have though is my experience at the time of booking through their site ... when i selected the room and went till check out section i had a lower price, and while i tried to check out, it said the page is "timed out" and i need to start all over again ... to my surprise when I started again, i immediately saw price has gone up $11 more than what i had initially selected ... did not expect such thing within 2 min ... too bad !
"City Center Motel - very poor condition"
06/24/14 M B Vancouver, Canada
City Center Motel is really a one star motel. The pictures on the website were misleading. The first room had cigarette butts outside the door. Inside it smelled of stale cigarette smoke masked with air freshener. We were switched to another room and it was dingy (one of lamps did not work and another was missing a lamp shade), it also had a bad smell, was moldy and the floors were dirty. There was no phone and no hairdryer. The bed sheets were worn or well used, there was only one chair in the room that had stains on it and one small table - so there was no place to put our stuff. My partner and I had to immediately look for another place to stay.

My husband and I just wanted a really cheap place by the beach, and this place fit the bill. We stayed on the 2nd floor, which I loved. The room/hallway smelled really musty and damp, but it's an older Motel right by the water, I wasn't surprised. Our bed was suuuuuper comfy (king) and the WIFI was good. I figure for just a place to sleep it was awesome and affordable. Of course if you're looking to hang out in the room all day, I wouldn't recommend it.
"Not what I expected!"

We stayed here over memorial weekend. The room was dirty and dusty! My son has dust allergy and I was paranoid he would have a reaction.. The floors were dirty and the room was moist for some reason. All of our stuff ended up moist! The shower was terrible! The water would not reach the shower head. So most of the water came out of the drain. Also I am average hight, 5'7 and I was too tall for the shower! The main door didn't even have a deadbolt. We put our luggage I front of the door to feel more secure. We left the trip early because we couldn't stay one more night, it was too depressing! The only thing good about this motel was the location.

Room had a dingy animal smell, kitchen floor was sticky. Found ants in the bed. Be warned there is no air conditioner or vent system of any kind. Could not get the wifi to connect. The customer service was not impressive.

Reasonably priced. Coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave in all non kitchen units. Flat Screen televisions in all rooms. Walking distance to arcade, mall, aquarium, shops, restaurants, boardwalk, and beach.
