"non surfers delight"
we enjoyed everything about our visit. we had marvelous dinners and the continental breakfast was great. It would be nice to have small snacks, cookies etc where the cappuccino bar is. the wait staff was friendly and good. the front desk answered any questions we had. we had no complaints what so ever.Genuine Expedia guest review
Lovely hotel with lovely views and excellent facilities and serviceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is cozy and beautiful complemented by the decor and nice ambiance. The only thing the keeps me from giving them a perfect rating is the room closes to the restaurant is a little bit noisy, maybe because lack of insulation between the walls. I'm pretty sure the other rooms away from the restaurant is quite and relaxing.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel! The food is amazing. Make sure to enjoy the great room with a coffee and a good book. Would recommend this palce to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"check your billing"
hotel is well located. Restaurant and bar are very nice. We had a standard room so didn't expect the best - hardest pillow I have ever had. Threw it on the floor halfway through the night. Checked the cupboard and bureau but no other pillows. The one thing I would be very vigilant about is the billing. We were billed $150.00 for no apparent reason and […] when we questioned it we were initially told it was a $149.63 room service charge. When we said we didn't order anything from room service we were told it was in case anything was missing from the room. It would be cancelled within 4-5 days? The $150.00 was cancelled and then two charges showed up - one was OK and the other was for $63.45 and when we questioned this we were told something else and that it would be cancelled by Visa(?) within 4 - 5 days. Again this was taken off in a couple of hours but if we had not questioned these charges I wonder what would have happened. Be careful about the billing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great room/beautiful beach!!"
We loved this hotel. The lobby I thought was quite small and could use better signage that for your luggage to use the side door. Otherwise you have to lug up your baggage up 4 stairs. The room was fantastic with only one comment...the shower was super small and was a triangle home depot style. Way too small for what you're paying! Also the restaurant […] was amazing....the service( I know it's Tofino) was a little too casual! Other than those little quibbles, a very nice hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Stay; Terrible Restaurant Experience"
We had a wonderful stay over the long weekend at the Long Beach Lodge. We stayed in a standard room and it was lovely. The staff were very nice and helpful. We had complimentary breakfast included and that was an amazing breakfast, lot's of options. Though, I'm not one to usually complain in a restaurant, as I work in the hospitality industry and I […] dont like to be bothersome I have to comment on our dinner at the hotel's restaurant. We were unsure of where to eat our first night in Tofino and we saw that the restaurant had good reviews so we tried to make a reservation and we could only get one at 8:30pm, We had been traveling all day and were hungry but decided to wait it out since if it was that busy it must be worth the wait. When we finally got to eat we had a nice table, our server was very nice but the food quality for the price was very over-rated. My boyfriend ordered the rib eye steak, which came as two smaller steaks to equal the one 8oz that he ordered off the menu. It was drenched in oil, made him feel very sick after. I ordered the ravioli pasta, $25 for 5 ravioli which were not filled with anything. Seemed like all the filling fell out while they were cooking. We just found that the price for the "quality" of the food was terrible. Our overall stay without this restaurant experience was great, very clean room, wonderful bathroom with deep tub and great hotel staff, I would just dine in town rather than at the hotel. We attended a wedding at Long Beach Lodge and stayed two nights. We stayed in a room in the main lodge but also visited friends in a cottage and both were very clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the buffet breakfast because it had many healthy and local-food options. We didn't have time to take advantage of all the resort's features, but I […] noticed that there was a great selection of board games available. Serving staff in the great room were very friendly and attentive and the great room itself offers an amazing view of Cox Bay. The price is quite a bit higher than I am used to spending on accomodations, but overall I am glad we stayed at Long Beach Lodge. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The continental breakfast was exellent. We had coffee and dessert one night in the dining room and the service was terrible so I am glad we did not have dinner there. Other than that I would recommend this hotel to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Comfortable, even though the room was smallish for the price. We were going on bird-watching trips and had to leave early for 3 days and no breakfast options are available for those who fall outside the free breakfast hours.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect little weekend"
It was a perfect weekend. The sun was out and the temperature just good enough to enjoy a glass of wine in front of the beach by sunset. The resort is small and discrete, and right on the beach. The room was amazing (the basic one) with a big bathroom (shower and comfortable bath tub), well design and relaxing ambiance. The staff, the lounge and the […] restaurant were great. We will go back for sure and probably rent one of the bungalow and take surf lessons from their school. ENJOY a long walk or a nap on the sandy beach. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We stayed here and sadly couldn't afford a room with a sea view as the view would have been spectacular. The hotel is right on a lovely sandy beach with a restaurant with a wonderful panoramic view. "Wonderful stay in Tofino"
Great hotel. Clean, friendly, great location, lovely well maintained property. Excellent beach. We booked a standard room, which did not have an ocean view.....regretted it after we arrived, as the seaside view is marvellous and it would have been great to have our own balcony to sit on and enjoy the sunset. However there is a wonderful big lounge […] room to sit in, have a drink, etc. Had dinner there once - very nice. The complimentary continental breakfast had lots of choices - don't miss the home baked scones - and a hot breakfast can also be ordered from the menu. Room was quiet, comfortable, had all the amenities including a small fridge, flatscreen tv, iron, hairdryer, and nice comfy robes. Also had umbrellas and rainwear in case of bad weather (it was glorious and sunny when we were there). My only complaint was that the wifi signal in our room was weak...which just proves how picky I had to be to find something to be critical of! There was a wedding on the beach every day we were there, which gave some added entertainment. Everybody seemed happy with the arrangements. From driving around, this seemed to be one of the better hotels in town and I would pick it again over the others we peeked at. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Long Beach Lodge Resort was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived and received a free upgrade to a Cottage to the spectacular views of the awesome Sunset, we could not have asked for a more wonderful stay.
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very good stay, only details to critize"
We enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Lodge very much. The room was very nice, with everything you can ask for and some lovely details. Staff is very friendly and the restaurant offers a great view. We only had breakfast there, which is good. Some minor issues unfortunately cost it the 5th star (especially given the price tag). 2 out of 3 laundry machines not working during the entire stay, surf board rental only by the day with no option to have them only for a few hours. And by the way, if you are dependent on the internet - go somewhere else! The wireless is lousy, not only by the standard of the hotel, but by any standard.
"Good, but needs a couple of tweaks"

My husband and I stayed here for about 4 days in late August. Pros: - location: Cox Bay, about 6km out of Tofino downtown - lovely beach for surfing or walking down (though for us Aussies, a little bit chilly to swim in, the water temp today was 13! - need a wetsuit plus booties, available for hire at the surf club) - room: well appointed (we had a deluxe beachfront on the top floor (3rd floor) facing the ocean) maybe could do with a slight update - however for a beach holiday it was nice - gym facilities - much appreciated given all the good food around - bed - comfortable, good pillows - king sized bed is always a plus - bathroom - good shower pressure, good sized bath - coffee in room - american style coffee pods, creamer and fridge. - balcony - big enough to sit on little adirondacks and look at the fog coming in off the water - or to try and catch the wifi signal!! - quiet - no problem with sleeping overnight with our doors open despite the beach bar being outside below us (open noon - 8 i think) Cons: - wifi - huge black spots both in room and in the common areas - not really existent unless using a laptop - I couldn't get signal on either my ipad or iphone unless i was lucky, and even on the laptop it dropped out every couple of minutes - no air conditioning - I doubt you would need air con for many days of the year in these parts, but overnight the floor fan didn't quite cut it for our stay, especially with the direct western sun in the afternoons. - gluten free options at beach bar - nil - understandable given the size of menu and kitchen facilities - but maybe at least have some packets of crisps or nuts - then i would order more alcohol without fear of being able to stand up afterward! Neither pro nor con: - washer/dryer facilities - available, but paid - bike hire - available, but have to wait 15 mins to an hour for them to be brought to the hotel - no porters to help you to your room with your bags - pro in not having to pay a tip but con if you are like us and don't pack light - parking - ample - pet friendly - fun to see the dogs having a ball with their owners on the beach overall, an OK stay - would I come back? maybe, but I would look around the area for possibly a more outstanding experience for the $429CAD base rate not inc taxes (of which there were quite a few)

We have just returned from 4 days at Long Beach Lodge and it was by far our best family vacation yet! The beach, and access to the National park were perfect for our family. The Awesome staff at the surf club really made my son feel welcomed into surf culture (guess I am buying a surf board for his Christmas present now) The cottage was so perfect and we made full use of the private hot tub and really loved the layout and comfort of the cottage. I was warned that internet/connectivity on the west coast was hit or miss and I prepared for the worst. Much to my surprise I was able to get a signal and mobile calls were no problem. We weren't into playing on computer's with the ocean this close! The Great room was such a treat and enjoyed almost all our meals while staring at cox bay in a trance! Who needs entertainment, right? Our son Max met chef Ian and he delighted Max with a tour of the kitchen and shared some culinary secrets with our family. All the staff at the lodge were smiling, friendly and you could tell that they are passionate about what they do. We will return to Long Beach Lodge, found our west coast home away from home.
"Amazing Elopement Wedding"

Myself and my partner booked an elopement wedding at Long Beach Lodge, Tofino. It was Meghan who organised and answered all our questions promptly (we had many as we haven't been in Canada long!). I have to say that she was absolutely amazing all the way through the process. We didn't have to worry about anything as all the details were dealt with easily. Thank you Meghan, you were an absolute star. The room was just as you see on the website, really modern and so comfortable and impeccably clean. The waiting staff and reception staff were so welcoming and approachable. The food was great and everything went to schedule on the day. I would definitely recommend the resort for a wedding or holiday. They really made our day feel special. I wish we had stayed longer than the 2 nights. :-) Thank you 'Long Beach Lodge Resort'.

Very good lodge with good quality cottage - well equipped and clean. Sadly the fog was an august feature that blurred the view. Food was good and the service on the whole very good - especially the restaurant staff (maitre d and lovely waitress from Nova Scotia). Front desk good (Tori) with some helpful tips and guidance. Surf shop excellent including an excellent lesson from Garret. Good wetsuits and kit - fabulous beginner beach. Highlight possibly was josh on the wildlife tour. He talked for Canada and it all made sense - he was very knowledgable, hugely interesting and we would all have been happy stuck on a boat with him for a whole lot longer. Only criticism was that it was a bit expensive.
"Very Pleasant Experience"

We didn't stay long, only three nights, but it was so quiet and tranquil we wouldn't have guessed there were no vacancies. The bed was incredibly comfortable. On the third floor we did need to sleep with the door open to cool it off in August, but didn't need to use the floor fan in the room. We ate in the Great Room each night and the food each time was excellent. The staff is tirelessly cheerful and helpful. I did wish our wireless connection was better, and confess I missed the Fox News Channel, but it won't stop us from returning. We had such a good stay. Longer next time!

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our tour around British Colombia and Alberta. The location is amazing - right on the beautifully unspoilt beach with it's very own surf school. Our room was fine - a bit dark - we wished we'd got a pricer room with a balcony in retrospect, but that was our own fault I guess. The room was really quiet considering we were right next to the dining room. We had breakfast in here with the wonderful view. The service was good and the food was too. If we came back to Tofino (fingers crossed!) we'd definitely stay here, but we would probably spend a bit more for a better room - it would be worth it.
"Great location & beautiful hotel, but miss the continental breakfast!!"
08/25/14 Courtney L Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Long Beach Lodge is a beautiful hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, have almost everything you need (a microwave would be great) and the beds are very comfortable. We stayed at the hotel in August 2014 and August 2013. The hotel is on the more expensive side, but you can't beat the location, the sunsets on the beach and having your morning tea listening to the waves. My only real disappointment was that they've taken away the continental breakfast. When paying $450 a night, a free continental breakfast goes a long way for customer satisfaction. If money was of no concern…I'd live here!
"Beautiful setting, but keep expectations low for service with a smile"
08/24/14 FostFoster Austin, Texas
The beach location is ideal, especially if you want to surf. The penthouse suite was comfortable enough, but try not to raise your idea of what this place should be based on how much you will likely pay. I thought our suite might be a tad nicer. It was fine, don't get me wrong, but it was pretty dark and not updated for the rate we paid. The balcony was nice-two chairs and a small table, with a gorgeous view of the beach. Be prepared, if you go in the summer, it can be warm at night in the room as there's no air conditioning. But I'm pretty sure that was unusual weather for Tofino. The restaurant had good quality food. You will pay for it. Our experience with servers was mixed-they were very friendly, but there were a couple of people that were very vague and it really appeared that it was a seasonal job for them. I'm from Texas, so I probably have a different expectation of friendliness (high) than others, but the 2-3 individuals we communicated with at the front desk seemed like they were irritated by my questions. They really seemed put out, and one lady was actually a bit rude. I didn't expect that, especially from someone given the responsibility to convey helpfulness and service. Housekeeping didn't show up for us, for some reason. They have board games near the front desk, but it's not the honor system to borrow them; I thought it was a little petty to take a guest's room number to charge in case someone didn't return the tiddly winks. Really, LBL? You're charging us $650 per night-I'm thinking you should foster a more luxurious atmosphere and have it be a game library with a little trust. The spotty service and snarkiness really soured us on our experience at this lodge. We did a wildlife viewing boat trip (3 hours) through the lodge, and that was a good experience. It was great to get out on the water, and our guide was really knowledgable. I'd definitely recommend signing up for this if it's an option if you come to the lodge. (Sidenote: Make sure you rent a car if you come to Tofino, so you drive around (Uclulet is a cute town), and go to Wildside Grill, between Ucluclet and Tofino. They have excellent, inexpensive lunch fare. And there's a wonderful coffee shop in the same little center--the Tofitian. And ice cream.) Long Beach Lodge has some gorgeous views. Keep the word "lodge" foremost in your expectations, and you'll likely be satisfied. It's old school, but they're definitely charging updated prices. If I could have done it over again, I think I would have given the Wick a whirl instead. . .

My family stayed at Long Beach Lodge, in cabin 9 this weekend. It was a pleasant, very well equipped and very clean place to stay for my family. The waterfront position of the resort (for surfers the best) is an big asset, the resort offers surf rentals-lessons. The restaurant is nice and net, the food is awesome. Thank you for your service and welcoming, we will recommend the Long Beach lodge cabins to our friends.
