This hotel is located on one of the best beaches on the island, glad we chose ocean front the "hill" is a pretty long walk and steep too, even young couples were driving down to the beach. The friendliest employee was Teddy at the beach towel shack he answered all of our questions and provided us with everything we needed for a perfect vacation .

The beach is perfect. Good for snorkling, clean and excellent for boys building sand castles! Lots of room between the sunchairs and the sea, no high waves even when other beaches were no fun anymore because of the bad weather. I would have given higher scores, however we ran into some issues during our stay in April 2012. The property is very nice. A quiet, peaceful place, the rooms are spacious HOWEVER, some things that you REALLY need to know: 1) In The Hills bldg has a HORRID smell coming from the bathroom drains. It was so unbearable that we had to be moved to another […] unit after 2-days of our 7-day stay. 2) The Staff at Blue Bay, what can I say? Bad is the wrong word, they seem to just not be very interested in the guests, a bit too laid back for me. After check-in you're pretty much on your own. Not one of them ever recommended any excursions or asked to see how things were going. If you ask for help they will try to assist but they won't be going out of their way by any means. 3) The Hills bldg does NOT have complete internet access. There is ONE, yes, I said ONE (slow) desktop computer for guests to use (first-come-first-served style) in reception. 4) You'll need an adapter to plug-in all of your equipment (laptops, cell phones, chargers, etc.). They have 3 prongs, not 2 like the U.S. 5) The instructions on appliances in the units all in Dutch - no English. Made things interesting! 6) Not everyone in Curacao speaks/understands English. Papiamentu, Dutch, Spanish you'll do fine, English, not so much. 7) Getting around is tricky. The roads are very good but the signage on them is poor. The few signs they do have are not in English and many of them are so faded you can't even read them. Read more

We were honeymooners and this was a great location to start our journey together. The hotel placed us in a gorgeous room with awesome views and give us a bottle of wine as a gift. The property is large enough that you can take a nice stroll down to the beach and around the golf course. I recommend booking a car for 1-2days to take in the major places […] of interest. You can spend an entire day in town as there are loads of shops and a great restaurant on the waterfront. There is an area in the city by the fort, that is great to spend the night time as there are a variety of restaurants and sometimes live performances. Family from nj on vacation for a week. Hotel room was really an apartment with 2 bedrm kitchenette 2 1/2 baths- large balcony, great for family- could have stayed 2 weeks. We could set up internet in room with a 25$/week card and needed an electric adapter from the front desk (they went out and got one for us) I could not tell on map on hotel website […] that the hotel beach was more of a 1/4 mile walk past the bungalos and a large parking lot but the beach was great for snorkeling( watch the rocks througout curacao), could always find a chair under a palm tree, people didnt save the best chairs with towels and could always get a drink at the bar or if you wanted or just bring a cooler of your own and no one bothered you. Mostly dutch speaking people but all staff spoke english. the best supermarket is less than a 5 min drive. definately needed car rental and visited other beaches- cas abu was favorite other than our hotel. Stopped in at the marriot and hilton- Blue Bays beach was way better- their pools looked better and the Marriot was very upscale clearly with better restaurants and a higher energy level (our was eh- dutch food) and the hilton needed updating so we were very happy with our choice for what we were looking for- the beach- snorkeling and relaxing in peace. They say housekeeping comes every 3 days. Was there for 5 days, 4 nights and linens/towels were never refreshed. No faciliy to wash them in the unit. No sign of housekeeping. Grounds are pretty. Pool is nice. Staff is very friendly. Location is perfect.

Pros: not far from airport. Beautiful location with it's own beach. Pool right outside the rooms. Huge suites. Kitchen and laundry in the room. The whole resort is gated and you have to show key (and the key holder with your room number, etc) to enter the grounds, so the safety factor was high. The Centrum supermarket is very close so that helped. […] We could put food in the refrigerator and cook breakfast on the stove in the kitchen. Cons: Restaurant is at the beach which means a 5-10 min. walk from room. Rooms cleaned only every 3rd day. They offer a wireless voucher, but when the wireless connection didn't work I was told ("oh, it doesn't work in the rooms. You have to be at the beach or pool.") It did sort of work on the balcony. When the room was cleaned they left no soap or shampoo. Trying to rent a car there, they "steered" me to G&H Car Rental. However, this company isn't open on Sundays (the day we were leaving) and they close at 1pm on Saturday. I think they get a kick back for the people they send to this company. I ended up going to the airport to rent another car for one day. It all worked out, but the woman behind the front desk should have been more accommodating to my needs. IF the rental companies they work with can't provide the service needed, she should have recommended another option. With cleaning only every 3rd day, we tried to wash our used towels in the washer in the room. It was difficult to decipher the icons on the washing machine. I think I got it working. At least the towels were wet when I removed them. The drier never dried anything even after 8 hours of attempts. You really do need to rent a car if you stay here to cut down on taxi rides to Willemstad or other areas. It's a 10 minute drive to the city. I strongly suggest renting a car at the airport. There is one man road that will take you to the hotel so don't be afraid (like I was). Since we spent so much time in Willemstad, I think I'll stay in a hotel in the city next time. Read more

I really wanted to like this place given the reviews & the photos. I will say that the hotel villas were a good size for the price. You get what you pay for though. This place is not close to anything so factor in extra $ for transport (25 for a taxi one way or over 60/day for a rental). Don’t forget any of your essentials because there is nowhere to […] purchase them on the property. Their dive shop sells more overpriced swim suits than actual basics so factor in a trip to the grocery store (50 US/roundtrip). The local stores do not sell OTC medication either so I had to nurse my allergic reaction to something that bit me the first day, with aloe vera, for 2 days. There’s a pharmacy once we made it into town 2 days later but nowhere close to this hotel so be careful. The surrounding area of the hotel is awful! Luckily this place was set back quite a bit. The best thing we ate while there was the French fries, w/o the lump of mayo they pile on (sad I know). Everything else,so/so. Also, they stretch the exchange rate quite a bit! The US $ is worth half of their money (10 US to pay 5 Guilder) but this is NOT the exchange rate so exchange as much as you can BEFORE you get there; the US airport had a better rate. Ex. bottle of water there is 5 US. Lastly, the rooms are cleaned every 3rd day & many things in the room didn’t work – the bedroom tv and neither of the phones, so we had to walk to the lobby every time we needed to make a call. Een groot, weids en uniek (golf)resort op een prachtlocatie en op slechts 10 min rijden van Willemstad. Wij zaten in The village, maar je kunt ook kiezen uit geschakelde bungalows en appartementen. Het is er zo weids dat je niets van de drukte merkt en het resort heeft een eigen zeer goed restaurant, met een eigen privestrand. De supermarkt is op 3 […] minuten rijden voor de eventuele dagelijkse boodschappen. Er wonen ook mensen in kapitale huizen op het resort en het is de moeite waard om tijdens een autorit op het resort naar deze prachtige huizen te kijken en dan tevens de mooie vergezichten op te zoeken die je van diverse posities hebt. Toen wij aankwamen was er een flinke lekkage in het keukengedeelte. Wij werden tijdelijk meteen geplaatst in een bungalow, dien overigens ook mooi (en vrij nieuw) was. Onze voorkeur ging echter toch uit naar onze villa e de volgende dag was er een voor ons meteen beschikbaar. Als tegemoetkoming kregen we een late checkout op de dag van vertrek. De enige minpunten: slechte ontvangst wifi waarvoor je $ 25,- p.wk. betaalt, is niet veel als hij het dan ook doet. Er wordt om de 3 dagen schoongemaakt (maar er zijn genoeg handdoeken aanwezig in de villa. Wij hadden in de villa 3 slaapkamers, 2 badkamers, een apart toilet, airco in de slaapkamers en niet te vergeten een prachtige grote porch (veranda, maar dan groter) met daarop een eettafel/6 stoelen, een lounge zitje en 2 grote ligstoelen om te zonnen. Fensterglas gibt es in den Gardenbungalows nur oberhalb der Wohnzimmerlamellen, deshalb ist es für Stechmücken leicht herein zu kommen. Für ruhige Menschen geht es; wen Schnaken besonders mögen und/oder wen das nervös macht, sollte besser davon absehen! Für die Spülmaschine einige Tabs einpacken! Der zu jeder Häusergruppe gehörende schöne Pool ist von allen Häusern nur wenige Schritte entfernt. Wir waren fast immer alleine dort. Der Strand ist ein wirklich schön angelegter Palmenstrand in einer kleinen Bucht. Freitag abends ist Barbecue Abend und es spielt eine Live-Band Salsa. Allerdings nicht zum Tanzen, sondern neben Bar und Restaurant am Strand - also zum Zuhören, aber nett! Das Essen war sehr gut im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants, vom Preisniveau her noch mittel. Lähimpään kauppaan sanottiin olevan matkaa 1km, mutta mielestämme matka oli kyllä huomattavasti pidempi. Kävellen kauppaan ei pääse. Hotellin rannassa ravintola, kioski, beach shop ja sukelluskoulu. Hinnat vaihtelivat jonkin verran kioskissa ja baarissa riippuen, kuka oli myymässä. Esim. kioskin hinnastossa luki, että hinnat sisältävät veron, mutta toiset myyjät lisäsivät veron tästä huolimatta hinnan päälle. Vastaanoton henkilökunta ystävällistä kautta linjan. Die Anlage besteht aus 3 Teilen: -"The Ocean" liegt direkt am Strand. Hier stehen 3 Häuser, ein 4. wird momentan gebaut. Auf den aktuellen google maps Bildern sind diese noch nicht zu sehen (Aug/Sep 2012). -"The Hill" ist etwa 5-10 Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt und liegt auf einer Anhöhe. Diese Häuser sind relativ neu und ebenfalls noch nicht auf […] google maps zu sehen. -Zwischen "The Ocean" und "The Hill" liegt "The Garden" verteilt mit kleineren 2-Apartment Häusern. Da wir in "The Hill" untergekommen sind, bezieht sich die Beschreibung auf diese Anlage: Die Zimmer sind europäisch ausgestattet mit normaler 220 Volt Steckdose. Alle Elektrogeräte sind sehr neu. Viele Möbel sind unfachmännisch montiert und fallen zum Teil auseinander. In der Dusche stinkt es aus dem Abfluss (ein nasses Tuch über der Öffnung war sehr hilfreich). Es gab im Wohnzimmer und im Schlafzimmer jeweils eine Klimaanlage und ein TV. Nachts haben wir nur die Klima im Wohnzimmer laufen lassen. Das war vom Lärm her OK. Das W-Lan kostet 10$ pro Tag oder 25$ in der Woche. In der Lobby ist es kostenlos. Der Raffineriegestank war bei uns nur an zwei Vormittagen wahrnehmbar, aber nur sehr schwach und nicht störend. Die Reinigung kommt nur alle 3 Tage, was bei den großen Apartments ausreichend ist. Die Handtücher und Bettwäsche hatte immer Flecken oder Löcher. Das Personal war dennoch sehr nett und hilfsbereit. el Hotel muy bonito, sin embargo no te arreglan el cuarto sino cada 3 dias, te toca hacer el aseo de la habitación, obligatoria mente hay que alquilar Vehiculo en el aeropuerto para toda la estadia en el hotel ya que la playa es a 10 min caminando. adicional a que el Hotel no tiene restaurantes ni alimentos cerca, todos estan en la playa.

Ik zou nog zeker wel terug gaan. Wij hadden een villa in de garden. Deze was nieuw en had veel comfort. Het was ook prettig dat er overal een zwembad was, dus elke type villa heeft een eigen zwembad zodat het nooit te druk is daar. Verder was het strand perfect,mooie zee met platform om naartoe te zwemmen, leuk snorkelen, genoeg bedjes, kinderclub op […] het strand (in het nederlands), kleine snackbar en restaurant met beachbar. Bovendien was daar ook nog een speeltuin met zwembad. Meer heb je niet nodig. We zijn ook 1dag naar Jan Thiel geweest maar dat was veel drukker, duurder en minder relax. Read more

Blue bay hotel på höjden var trevligt med serviceminded personal.Hela området var fint men en aning avlägset,vi hade tänkt klara oss utan bil,men det var otänkbart.Hyrde en redan nästföljande dag för hela vistelsen.Vi åkte till Supermarket varje dag.Den fina stranden låg ca 10 min långsam promenad därifrån,vi åkte runt ock kollade på Hilton,Marriott […] och reneicanse ht och konstaterade att vi hade valt det bästa om man inte bara vill bada i poolområden som dock ej var så dumma.Poolen på blue bay dög väldigt bra men det fanns ingen servering där,Det gick bra att ta med sig från lgh.
