Staff are friendly, but the room lacked bed side lamps. The food was excellent and the ambiance perfect. Furthermore, one could not hike the larger farm or use mountain bikes to scout the area.

This is a difficult review as the hotel, grounds and staff were all superb. The food in the restaurants was really, really good. The problem was with noise in our room. We were there for three nights. The first night was like sleeping in a circus tent. Ours was a middle room. Very nice setting and excellent staff. Made a booking for a family of 2 adults and 2 children and the room was nice and spacious. We overslept on the last day and missed breakfast but the manager arranged for some hot food to be prepared for us and gave us no hassle with a late check out. We also went on a tour of the museum and managed to get the car […] stuck in a ditch. The hotel guide and his colleague toiled for nearly an hour in the heat to get us out. Had a family room children are 12 and 9.They and my wife loved the thatched cottage and rustic look. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the surroundings and memorablia very interesting. My biggest upset was we were only there one shorty day.

We had 2 nights at the beginning of Nov. 2011, family of four. Location was ok, nothing close by, you have to drive 15Km to reach the nearest market or Sun City. Room was not really ready to be occupied when we arrived at 7 PM, allot of spiders and mosquitoes and ext..... so we had to do our own arrangements in order to feel safe, however things got […] better next night as a big cleaning campaign started and it looks like they were preparing only then for the season. last but not least, the staff were less friendly then al the places we visited, they response to your request but in a morning wake up moon all the time??!! When I arrived at the hotel, my first impression was good. Although everything seemed a bit dated, there was plenty of space (with rooms grouped in bungalow style buildings) and a lot of green areas. However, I soon realized that there were several negative areas. The food in the restaurant was awfull. At dinner, the only option available was an expensive […] but low quality buffet. The snack bar was closed by that time and there was no room service. We were charged the full buffet price for eating just soup plus salad. Unfortunatly there were no restaurants in the vicinity and the hotel restaurant was the only option available. Although the hotel is located at more than 500 metres from the main road, there is secondary unpaved road just behind most of the rooms (including behind my room, which was a "Deluxe Room"). From early morning (around 6 a.m.), we started hearing trucks passing in that unpaved road, making a lot of noise. There was no central heating nor air conditioning in the rooms. There was only a portable heater that was clearly insufficient to warm up the room in the cold August nights. Read more

We were enjoying a perfectly idyllic weekend away, lovely accommodation, perfect setting, charming staff...... when a huge disturbance erupted in the adjoining room. We alerted the staff who arrived in seconds, in substantial numbers. They immediately removed us to a place of safety in a super deluxe room. Staff went back to our room, packed for us […] and brought our belongings to the new room, fetched us drinks and could not have been more helpful or kind. We were booked on an early safari next day and didn't get back to Kedah till breakfast was being cleared away. Nevertheless we were welcomed into the dining room, fresh coffee was brewed and every member of staff asked if we were OK after the night before. Then our check out time was extended so we could enjoy the new room and its outdoor shower! We simply couldn't speak too highly of Kedah. Read more

The Hotel is not even having a phone/ intercom in any of its rooms. The hotel is located close to Pilanesburg National Park, and every guest is willing to go to the National Park. Still the hotel is not providing any Breakfast facilities for its guests early morning. We werent even provided a bottle of mineral water at 06:30 am in the morning, saying […] that there bar/ food facilities were not yet open. I mean this is ridiculous. The bathrooms in the rooms are not even having having a door to be closed. Even the name of the Hotel - Kedar Country Hotel, is very deceptive kinds. It is wonderfully situated for Sun City and Pilansburg game reserve.We had a relaxing and comfortable holiday.The food was also nice and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

This hotel was a big disappointment. It is in serious need of complete revamp. Our room was clean but the bathroom was dirty. We stayed for one night and refeused to take a shower as the shower room was so dirty. Would no recommend this hotel.

Kedar Country Hotel was the best place to be especially over the long weekend with my photography teacher. The Game Drive stole the show. We were able to take the photos we wanted to so as to compare those of the teacher with those of the student especially because of the different distances and angles we were taking them from. hotel:It's quite near to the Pilanesberg nature reserve, where you can see the big five. In general the area from the hotel is nice. They have a small lake with hippos and also a musuem. The hotel was nice, room lovely and beautiful grounds. 180 rand for a buffet dinner was over-priced, especially considering that the food was mediocre at best. This may have been due to the fact thaat there were so few guests so the food must have been kept warm for some time. I would visit again but would not use the restaurant.

We stayed for an overnight at this hotel. The only thing about this hotel ws the breakfast and the grounds were nice. The room that we stayed in was the outdayed and disgusting. They need to upgrade their rooms, some fresh paint, renovated the bathrooms etc. We were very uncomfortable and would not recommend this to ANYONE. The front of house ladies are very polite and assisted well with the dealings of the guest. The Armoury restaurant staff need to be more attentive to the guests needs as we consistantly asked for things. The inside of the kettles had a white residue in them, the replacement kettle was exactly the same. The GPS co ordinates of the hotel were not in line […] with the final destination point. The buffet breakfast was very good but the evening buffet needed more variety for the price paid although salads and cheeses I thaught were fantastic. Overall, staying at a four star hotel one expects a certain level of service, surroundings, atmosphere, competancy which I think was not met especially by international standards .
