The cleanliness of the room was below any expectations. I never saw dust in pieces hanging out everywhere (on the ceiling lamps by the windows, from the vent in the bathroom, on the pipe line under the sink). I think the use on the simple vacuuming would solve the problem. The towels were very old and gray. Comfort of the room rated a lilltle bit higher […] just because my daughter liked sitting on the wide window sil and made her little corner there. Matresses were way too firm. The overall hotel condition was OK, but I am sure the management can do a better job. The hotel design is in the 80s. I would not give 4 stars to this hotel as they claim they are. I recommended the hotel only because of the location. But there are a lot of other hotels, so if you have a choice don't pick this one. Read more

Nice hotel...contrary to what the pleasant young lady at the desk said when we checked, there is WiFi in the rooms...the code to log in is in the room. Other than that, the hotel breakfast was excellent with a lot of choices. No AC in the rooms means you might suffer a bit if you arrive during a heat wave in the summer like we did a week ago.

The area is less than desirable. Packs of young adults pass through this street and create a lot of noise around the midnight / 1 AM time.. In fact, the night before we left one group tore down a street light attached to an adjacent building.

I booked based on the reviews, but what I found when I got there made me sad I booked this hotel for two nights. It was somewhat difficult to find from the station and usually I do not have trouble finding things on a map, although it is relatively close to the main tourist areas. The lobby is small and charming, but immediately I got the impression […] I made a mistake. The red carpets were so soiled and worn that they had turned black. The staff spoke good English. My room was on the first floor facing the street. The hotel only has air conditioning in four rooms. My room did not have AC. The room was decent sized, but the level of cleanliness was poor. The furniture was stained, there was a dirty sock from someone elses last stay by the furniture, and the bathroom wasn't exactly the cleanest. They did leave a small fan in the room, but it drove me crazy because the noise it made. It sounded like it was going to explode. The rooms are not quite at all, with or without the windows closed. You hear everything from the hallway, street, or other surroundings. I got woke up several times. The breakfast looked okay, although I did not try it. Until this hotel improves, don't waste your money. I stayed at Esprit on the first weekend of July. I would not stay here again. Read more

at first we were charmed by this retro hotel. it was quaint and the staff was helpful. however, it really was a miss for us. there was no AC but we had a robust fan that was sufficient EXCEPT the noisy drunken club street below our window forced us to close the window. it dimmed the noise but then it was too hot. Unable to get a good night sleep lead […] to a long stay. we had no hot water one morning - it was fixed in a couple of hours but just another miss. the real miss was that a fellow guest was robbed and the manager was SO RUDE that it was embarrasing. the guest wanted to know about possible insurance and the manager first ignored him and then finally said NOt NOW. The hotel was somewhat disappointing for a hotel, which advertises itself as 4 stars. Though our room was quite spacious with a new/rennovated bathroom, the building itself has a somewhat depressing facade and appearance with only a tiny lobby. It is very centrally located within 5-10 min walking distance from all major sights in central Prague, but […] edges a few less symphatic narrow alleys. Cleaning often left somewhat to be desired, bathtowels were relatively small and occassionally worn-out and frayed, a glass plate missing from the new bathroom had not been replaced. Everyone working here was very nice and helpful with everything from currency exchange to directions to near by sight seeing locations. The hotel is very centrally located near all of the must see sights and shopping locations. During my stay I was able to walk to all of the city's great sights.

Very nice hotel walking distance from Prague's old town main square. The room was clean and cozy and quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was also very nice, but oriented to European customers (i.e. do not expect pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, tropical fruits or rice porridge). The location is perfect.

NO SHOWER! Indifferent reception staff. No WiFi unless you walk up to the 5th floor or to the reception. Location was good, but the view was of a very ugly cement wall. We loved Prague, but would never stay at this hotel again! Get away from the main square for food and drinks. Just wander around and find cool small places to eat. Deja Vu was a nice […] local bar to hang out in, with music downstair. Touch is a very good restaurant near the hotel; Michael our waiter was very nice and also works downstairs at Dejay Vu. The Lokal has the best beer in town at 2 locations; they also have good food. Korlokova also has very good beer and food. There is a very crappy pizza type restaurant near the main plaza with a glass atrium, avoid. Visit the Prague castle, you can eat and drink inside the walls which is very cool. The St. Charles Bridge is amazing, we went there twice. Walk up the steps of the Astronomical Clock tower for a great view of the city and an orientation of where everything is. Room was nice. Functional . Close to everything. But, needed to leave window open to get air (it was a warm later September). Noisy at times. No wireless internet and unable to use their wired internet in my room. They had excellent wireless on the 5th floor. I only needed15 minutes of internet service a day (to catch up with work). Bummer that I had […] to trek up to the fifth floor and of course wasn't able to use smart phone in the hotel unless on 5th floor. But it's Prague, didn't spend alot of time in the hotel. Like the title says this hotel is in a great location in Prague. It is very close to the city center which was very nice. Another thing that was very helpful was that it was near a grocery store and so we could buy snacks and not have to worry about eating out and buying drinks all of the time. To be clear about its location it is near Jacob's Church […] which is behind the Tyn Church. The breakfast was standard European "continental breakfast" which may be a shock to some because it is not what is served at the Best Western. We think that the hotel was previously all smoking, no shock there, but the smell still lingered and bothered one of the party. Overall a good hotel if you are not seeking something fancy in Prague! Hotel is located in the Old Town. The rooms are large and decorated with Art Deco highlights. There is no air conditioning, but a fan was provided. We stayed in mid-June so the air temperature was comfortable at night. The hotel was fairly close to the train station and public transportation. We were affected by a train strike and the hotel employee […] Vladimir was very helpful in assisting us with alternate travel arrangements. The only disappointing things were that the attached restaurant seemed to be a hang-out spot at night. It could get noisy throughout the night. this hotel a 10 minute walk to OLD TOWN and 1 block from the Metro ,unfortunately we had to find out on our own. the staff knows little english and has no knowledge of where anything is. the room was spacious but the beds were hard, europeans do not know what a pillowtop mattress is . the air conditioner does not cool too much . they have baths but […] no shower but everything was very clean . we had room 52 on top floor and it was quiet .the breakfast was plentiful with a combination of hot and cold foods . i would recommend staying here . if you want to take the metro , go left at the front door and walk straight towards the market (Milka)and cross the street ,the metro is to your right. its called Namesti Republici . buy a 1 or 3 day ticket and go everywhere on bus,tram or metro for 1 price. its a great deal. The hotel is on a quiet street. However, when it is warm and the windows must be kept open it is quite noisy due to clubs in the area. I don't know if there are 'back' rooms, but ask for one. The air-conditioning in our room was inadequate to deal with the outside temperatures. The hotel had to supply us with an electric fan which only produced localised cooling and so the room was too hot both night and day. The wardrobe was, in fact, a cupboard which was so tall and narrow that one had to step up inside it to hang or retrieve clothes. […] The bathroom door had obviously been forced open at some time as the wood on the inside at the lock was split and there was a hole in the inside of the door where it had been forced against the corner of a towel rail which was on the wall behind the door. This should have been rectified immediately. The towels supplied were a variety of colours, and of poor quality and the handtowels were frayed. The lid of the toilet was split in two places. The first room we were allocated had no a/c, the electric fan did not work and no replacement fan was available and so the room was so hot that we were given the room described above. The hotel was pleasing but should be graded as a three star not a four. Its location in town was ideal. Read more

Standard hotel but in a fantastic location. It is only a five minute walk to the Old Town Square and 15mins to Charles Bridge. All tours can be located within minutes of the hotel. However, the 3 days I was there were extremely hot in Prague and the air conditioning was very poor in the room and made it very difficult to sleep.

This hotel couldn't have been better situated..... 2 minute walk from the Old Town and about 5 minute walk to Wenceslas Square. The outside of the hotel gave off the wrong impression of the inside, as it didnt look that good, so lovely surprise when you go in. The receptionists are very polite, pleasant and helpful. Clean towels and room tidied every […] day. The only thing that I found difficult was that it was quite high to step into and get out of the bath/shower. When you enter the hotel, it seems like a bad place, the hotel staff is constantly sitting on the sofas in th elobby with cigars and cigirattes in hand and it immediately puts you off. The room was clean but smaller than we thought. The staff was polite.

We spent three nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was very tasty (although I am Czech and love Czech food!) and the room and hotel were clean. The location was great - 5 minutes from a major metro station as well as a large grocery store (for cheap snacks) and many sites. Old town is about a 10-minute walk. There was no air conditioning […] but it was surprisingly cool, despite the intense heat outside. Many places to eat in the area as well. I did notice a few bars but it didn't seem very loud...although it wasn't the weeekdn. All in all, a good hotel for the price and we'd stay there again! Read more
