Andreas Hotel & Spa - Palm Springs

Hotel was challenging to find due to Mapquest saying it's on the right side of the street, and the one way streets.. Was not impressed with check-in service and rude joke clerk made. Although room was clean and nicely appointed, it was so dimly lit, it was difficult to see. I wouldn't return to this hotel.

My daughter and I were recently in LA for spring break and decided to take advantage of the Palm Springs weather. We found the Andreas Hotel and Spa and since it was right downtown we decided to try it. It turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises ever. We read about Bob in other reviews and not only him - but everyone on the staff - was as […] nice and accommodating as I have ever encountered. The room we stayed in had a most comfortable queen size bed with an electric fireplace, flat screen TV and wonderful decor. The pool/hot tub area was small but well equipped and peaceful. Towards the end of our stay they even brought in new comfy lounge furniture. The continental breakfast each morning was just enough to get our day started and there was always ice and cold lemon water in the lobby and by the pool. Being that the hotel was right off the downtown strip, we could walk everywhere and really enjoyed the Thursday night street party. I have to say that this was one of the most pleasant and comfortable places that I have ever stayed. The only downfall was that there were a few rooms of spring breakers which were a little loud but I understand that the hotel needs to fill rooms so we took it in stride. The Andreas Hotel and Spa is a very nice boutique style small hotel in the center of Palm Springs. The room was very comfortable with a good bed, a fireplace, and large jacuzzi tub, and a very comfortable ambiance. It is built in the older Palm Springs style, and has a lot of charm. HIghly recommended.

This is a very charming small hotel. It was very private and comfortable, almost like visiting a private villa. The only thing lacking is a view but I would definitely stay here again when visiting downtown Palm Springs.

There were some great things about this hotel and some not very good things about the hotel. First the good: great location, the massages we had at the spa were amazing and pretty reasonably priced, and the pool area was very nice. The not so good: the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel was terrible. When we checked in, there was an open and half drank […] diet coke in our mini fridge. It sat there all weekend, even with 3 housekeeping visits. The toilet in our room also was broken and either ran or wouldn't flush the enter time we were there. When we complained to the front desk, they kinda just froze and didn't fix it or offer anything. We had to use the bathroom down by the pool the majority of the time we were there. Finally, I think the cost for a pet is a little unreasonable. An extra $20 a night for a tiny dog is a little steep, and something they should post on their website (I was unaware there was a fee for pets until I checked in). Read more

This hotel is fantastic. Our room was very large and completely updated. Everything was top of the line including the marble and the oversized jacuzzi in the bathroom. The in room fireplace was a great touch. Bob at the front desk was great at check in too. He showed us to our room and showed us each of the features and how to use them including the […] fireplace and the dimmer switch for the lights. The location is ideal. So, I have very mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. I went by myself as a late 20 something for a couple of days by the pool, and I'm not so sure this hotel is quite right for someone my age. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and the pool and room were both very nice and clean. However, smooth jazz was playing (loudly) by the pool all day […] and into the evening, and started up at 6AM the next morning (I actually phoned down to the front desk to complain about this, and then it turned off). There was even smooth jazz playing in my room when I first walked in. I thought I might lose my sanity after hours and hours of this, so it forced me out to the local restaurants, which was good since the hotel does not serve any food or drink, except continental breakfast (I did not realize this beforehand. I repeat- no food or drink). The location is good, right in the center of shops and restaurants. As for the room itself, it was nice and clean enough ), but the lighting was extremely low, even with the dimmer turned up on high. There was a constant supply of ice water with lemon available by the pool, which was a nice touch, and the pool area was never too crowded (I was there on a Thursday though- I would guess it's hard to get a chair on the weekends- the pool area is not that big). But overall, for an older couple who doesn't mind low light and smooth jazz, this place might be perfect. Read more

I was staying at the hotel on business, so unfortunately I did not get to just lounge around the pool and take advantage of the spa services. But it was such a wonderful retreat from work. I was walking distance from the convention center. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful from the moment I arrived. Hotel Andreas is a lovely, small hotel in Palm Springs, right in the center of town. They provide breakfast and allow dogs, both major pluses. Other than being a little loud with thin walls and windows, the stay was excellent. I highly recommend going to the spa to see Charlotte- she is an incredible masseuse with amazing hands.

I was very disappointed with the size of the bed,seemed more like a double than a Queen. There was a light shinning threw the wall all night long right where you lie in bed and my significant other is a smoker and the Hotel is smoke free even by the pool. The only plus for me was it's location.

The Andreas Hotel is a pretty hotel in a great location within walking distance of the main street downtown. However, the quality of our hotel room was very poor. We had tin foil for window covering. The A/C unit was horribly noisy to the point where my husband and I did not sleep all night. Also, in the bathroom, every time we flushed the toilet or […] ran the sink faucet, the tub faucet would start to run. Andreas Hotel was nice with only 25 rooms. We had made our reservations 4 mos. in advance and our room was very nice like a honeymoon room. The draw back was that our room was located with the windows facing Palm Canyon Drive/Hwy 111, the main drag. Below our second story room was a bar. Hotel was in a perfect location for access to downtown P.S. Walk out one door, you have a very short walk to the casino, walk out another door and you are on Palm Canyon Drive, with restaurants and shops. Checked in on a Wednesday, very nice greeting. Was given room 105, next to the pool and on the end. Decent room, with a few exceptions. The hotel […] was not full, even though it is small. But the first night, we heard footsteps from the room above all night. Out of all the available rooms, why were they put right above us? :( The bed, not too comfortable. And it has this frame that blocks the view to the TV. Very annoying. Air conditioner was terrible, very noisy. Inadequate lighting in the room, just a couple of lamps. The light right outside the windows shined through the cheap blinds. Not good if you like total darkness to sleep, which I do. And the toilet had a mind of its own, making noise in the middle of the night. Plus, it didn't flush correctly occastionally. And finally, one of the guys behind the desk needs to tone down the amount of cologne he uses. Overpowered the entire lobby, which is small. Positives: great shower, jacuzzi tub, decent continental breakfast with the day's newspaper, location. Very friendly staff. Loved it. Located exactly where we want to be when staying in PS. We just went to hang out in downtown and chill. Spent most of one day just lounging around the pool. The pool is in the center of the hotel and has a very hacienda feel to it. It's a good place for the price. It's close to everything and just accross from a casino. Nice size swimming pool and friendly staff. The bed is a little small and uncomfortable. I would stay at this hotel again.
