I have been going to the beach for over 50 years. Hint: The Beach is always Myrtle Beach. I only want a place that is clean and in great proximity to the beach. This had a great pool for people with little folks. It had a nice pool for adults. It was not Trump Plaza, but I did not expect that. It was a great place at the beach.

Hotel location was central to the golf courses we were playing, but the neighborhood was not family friendly. Overall we had a great vacation. The only problems we had were the friendliness of the front desk staff. They could use a little lesson in customer service! Also, the rooms need updated 2 out of the 3 room keys they gave us did not work. I was in the parking garage and saw two maintenance men walking through the hallways. One found a room key on the […] floor and decided to try it out on all the doors with his friend while laughing and being sneaky. The hotel was nice. We enjoyed the bowling alley. The surrounding neighborhood was noisy, the nightclub beside the hotel was having a party until 1 a.m. Other than that, the hotel was a nice experience.

My stay was overall good except for the morning manager Mr.Burt his customer service was horrible. I have worked has a manager and there is always something you can to for the customer. no phone service in main bedroom and we stayed without heat for the first night. I caught an extremely bad cold. they did change my room the next morning, per MY REQUEST!! the rooms were clean and te hotel staff was nice and the bowling alley was a bonus! but having no heat in January is no fun at all.

Breakfast was over by 0745 on 1/13/13 with the thought that others took more out of the cafe than they should only to discover the next day at breakfast there still was nothing to eat other than Krispy Creme doughnuts. The room door keys didn't work maintenance took over one hour repairing door to get keys to work meaning we had to stay in room while […] he did repairs. The appearance on the internet and real life are two different images.The hotel did have good qualities of fun things to do at the pool and bowling alley but the accommodations did not fit the name Captains Quarters then again maybe I was expecting too much out of the name and pictures on the internet. My family stayed Jan 19-23rd, 2013 and i must say i was impressed with all of the amenities! Room is outdated though..could use some upgrading but other than that..i have no complaints..kids had a really good time and we do plan to stay again in the future..We had an oceanfront suite..beautiful view

Only issue was cleanliness of common areas, room was quite drafty the wind do to the weather was howling through the door. The bathroom in the room had a heat lamp in the ceiling and air was rushing through the opening in the ceiling..

We spend new years at this hotel. We had two rooms one ocean view and the other ocean front. The second one really nice. The staff at level 6 was really nice, and they even surprised us with really nice decoration in our room. The satff went out of their way to make us feel as we were n a luxury vacation resort.

My family and I had an excellent stay for both my daughter's birthday and New Year's Eve in the same weekend. It was too cold for swimming in the sea of course, but we walked on the beach and we LOVED having the balconey, view of the ocean and sound of the waves practically in our room. This was our second stay here. This room was very hard to sleep in. So much noise with the beds right at the door. Cleaning crew slamming doors, laughing and talking really loud. The living room was next to the door (ocean). Should have been turned around. Sleeping near the doors for ocean and living room as you walk in. There were no real downsides to this hotel. The pools were nice, clean and warm. The lazy river was clean and warm. The jacuzziis were clean and warm. The bowling was nice. the room was clean, the beds comfy. Parking was easy and close to elevator.

Can't beat the location. Right on the beach. Courteous staff, clean and comfortable room. Multiple pools and hot tubs and adults can get away from the kids areas. I will stay there again.

Me and my wife just decided to have a quick getaway in the Myrtle Beach area. This resort is right on the beach. Within walking distance of the boardwalk. All of the staff were friendly and inviting yet they were not overbearing. They all seemed to enjoy having us as guests. I would recommend this resort to any of my friends and family.

while the location of this hotel is great - ocean will never disapoint you - the room and the hotel were in bad shape. This hotel not only needs major remodeling, but also improvement in the staff service. The daily cleaning service only replaced towels, and sometimes did not show up at all. If you have more than one suitcase or heavy luggage prepare […] yourself for carrying it all the way to your room - no help from staff and the carts are not available outsite the hotel. The lobby is totally detached from the hotel and seems not to care about guests at all. As for the hotel restaurant - it only serves breakfast and lunch, the menus are limited, and the food first come first serve - so if you are late most of the fruit is gone. Luckily we do not care much for littly things and we enjoyed the ocean and nearby attractions trying to spent as little time in the hotel as possible. Read more

Location of this hotel is great and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel room itself could use some updating. The room had a full kitchen which was nice. I booked online and unfortunately did not get a beach front room as I had requested and they were not able to upgrade. We did have a beach view which was ok.

Its not the greatest and could use some updating but they had alot of pools a lazy river and some activities for the kids. My reservation was a result of a last minute change of plans. I was meeting up with some dear friends who were vacationing with their grandchildren. They picked Captain's Quarters well in advance. I wasn't 'dreadfully' disappointed. I had a room on the ninth floor and I was allowed to smoke on the balcony, as long as I kept the sliding door shut. There […] are still options for those out there who smoke cigarettes. My "ocean view" room was better than expected when it came to the view. The downside was it is located next to the Loco Gecko lounge and there is a live band on most nights, but then again, the music wasn't bad and was pretty easy listening. It was the ideal room for someone without kids and a pretty heavy sleeper. Speaking of sleep, word of warning here: bring your own pillow, unless you enjoy really fat and firm pillows--I was wishing I had brought mine. That was the only reason I did not give a 5 for comfort of room. Overall, the resort was intended for families and their children. It was a little off season, so as it turns out, there weren't many small children, actually weren't very many people, so it was very nice. I would stay there again. The building itself could use a little updating. I did eat at the Vista 9 restaurant for breakfast on a few days...buffet style...food was good, eggs cooked to order and a great view of the ocean, but they don't open until 7 so it's after sunrise and it's very bright!
