I was on a short 2 day vacation and decided on this hotel because of the rating and the price. As I entered the room I smelled mold, I also smelled it whenever I was over the Basin in the bathroom, it seemed to be coming out of the overflow hole. I spent about fifteen minutes trying to get hot water to take a shower, it was hot in the basin but cold in the shower so I kept it running hoping it would get hot, eventually I reached for the only wash towel in the room and decided to warm it up in the basin when suddenly it came hot and after adjusting it for a few seconds I was able to take a shower; however before I was completed the water started getting cold again. The next day it just did not get hot after running it for about twenty minutes. So that was a cold shower day. The drain also was partially plugged and kepy rising while I ran the water.The Thermostat also could not be adjusted so I had to manually turn it completely off and on. Now this is a New York City Licensed Master Plumber with 48 years of experience who could not adjust a faucet and a thermostat, so imagine how a normal person would react? I also could not completely shut the Window Blinds at night. I cannot comment on the food because I ate out. The staff were very friendly. The parking lot was also across the street from the hotel unsupervised. Nice looking room with a refrigerator, adequate seating, iron and board.

Room was great, and the hotel was good. A bit of a walk to downtown and the common areas were tired and in need of a fix up. My pet hate though: no cafe latte so my mornings had to start elsewhere. But un short, good value.

unfortunately the pool was closed. Although there are two restaurants one is closed most of the week and the other offer very few dishes and is very expensive. You better off taking a taxy to go to other restaurant. Didn't see a business center

Rooms are spacious and very clean.. But the only negative is the hotel service team takes quite a long time to "understand" your problem first and then provide a resolution. For E.g, The wired Internet connection was not working and i had to complain for not less than 5 times to reception for 2 days for the hotel to send an IT guy and say the ports in my room were not working and change my room. Negatives apart...you will like the cleanliness and location of the hotel...

Hotel is about 10 minute cab to the nightlife near the avenue. The hotel has an amazing restaurant and room service was really good. The hotel has a rooftop bar lounge area with a great view of the city. If You need Internet make sure you request the upper floors I believe 1-4 floors have acces to wifi if you have a laptop and cord. My iPhone did not work in my room unless I was at the pool or lobby area. I would definetly would go back to the hotel. Two performing art centers are walking distance as well as great Thai/Indian restaurant that is also walking distance. The airport was a 40-45 minute ride and cost about 30 US dollars

On a business trip back from Georgetown, Guyana, on my way back to United States, I had to overnight in Port of Spain. It was a pleasant surprise to book this hotel. After a quick and hectic trip. I had the opportunity to relax myself at the nice an cozy swimming pool. I got a room on a upper floor which gave me a great view of the entire skyline of the city.

We went to Trini to watch a cricket game at Queens Park Oval and Carlton Savannah is very nearby, so it worked well for us. Staff is very pleasant and cooperative. They have a nice small pool and service was good.

- No water .. No vending machines anywhere either. None of our room service orders came with water and when I asked the servers, they said they'd be back but none of them returned. - There was only one cup for coffee and one glass in the room. - Relish, their "featured" restaurant for breakfast, ran out of orange juice at breakfast time - Concierge is useless...just handed me a list of car companies when asked to arrange for rental. When I asked for "things to do" in Port of Spain, I was handed a map with no recommendations. - Tours and travel desk was as just a card holder with a travel company's card

the 5 star hotel should not have empty mini bars in the room and I would strongly recommend that they leave a complimentary bottle of mineral water even if they up their rates by 2 euros a night. the rooms are very well and luxuriously finished.

We had great customer service, front desk, restaurant personnel were very nice and helpful. Even arranged for a slice of cheescake for our arrival on our anniversary. Pool was closed due to maintenance (had no advance notice). The rooftop restaurant was closed also which was very disappointing due to that being one of the reasons I chose this hotel. The room was clean except that it looked outdated (carpet), the carpet had stians.

The location is great the staff is super friendly and very attentive, restaurants in the Hotel were excellent the service is amazing! Carlton Savannah has a bit more of a boutique feel, if you prefer that to the more grandiose hotel climate of the Hyatt. Hotel room was very nice and really clean. Food in lobby restaurant was good as well. Staff were extremely nice. However, checkout process was lengthy and a bit convoluted, we were not able to pay with AMEX as system was down. Leave extra time for checkout, especially if departing early. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms, only in lobby. Rooms just have ethernet connection.

I stayed here in Feb 2012, and I thought the hotel was very nice. It was comfortable, centrally located, stylish, and the service and food quality were both solid. However, this new stay in January 2013 was unfortunately disappointing. The hotel seems to have let basic maintenance lapse greatly. Constant cold showers despite complaining. Nicked up walls and floors. Poor food quality and very slow service. The bed was comfortable, so that was a silver lining...

Recently renovated, but it's clear that the renovation has not been properly maintained. Nice rooms, with lots of space with modern finishes and ambience. Elevator moves quickly, but only one was operational. Very comfy bed - comfier than many other hotels. Need more electrical outlets in-room, however.

Very clean and comfortable. When I booked the room I was supposed to get a mountain view and got the view of back of hotel. I could not open the windows. I did not get complimentary bottle water. The last night I asked front desk staff to call a Taxi for next morning. I was told that the taxi driver was not available and that they would call someone else. The next morning different staff told me no one called a taxi and they needed to call a taxi. When it was time to leave a had two taxis fighting to take me to my destination. TAXIS WORKING FOR HOTELS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE!!

I think the hotel is wonderful. The roof top bar and its view of the city was amazing. The deluxe room was very spacious. The staff was great, friendly and always ready and willing to help me. The food was great. I would so recomend to friend and family.

Nice hotel with neat big room, modern bathroom and great indoor fitness facility. What we did not like is the stuffy smell in the corridor on the 9th floor, most probably as a result of moisture. The small breakfast and diner restaurant was ok, however the restaurant on the first floor was empty on one of the evenings. Maybe the hotel should intensify PR to promote this Restaurant! Overall a nice hotel close to the Queens Park Savannah.

The Carlton Savannah is a very contemporary and charming hotel in Port of Spain. It's not very close to downtown and is about 30 minutes from the airport in Piarco. The taxi ride can also be expensive (NB: the hotel offers a shuttle, but not free of charge). That said, the pool is an oasis, the rooms are very smart and contemporary with Caribbean flair and the rooftop bar offers a fantastic rum punch and a a great view of the city and the mountains. The staff were very polite and accommodating, especially considering my late arrival and need for food. I would definitely stay here again.

The Hotel didn't have Internet as promised. During the three days that we were at the hotel they didn't fix it. The atmosphere was lousy. We found also a person asking us for money at the elevator.

The staff were friendly. One was kind enough to accompany me on his way home to a movie venue to ensure I did not get lost. He refused to be compensated for his time. When you enter the hotel it has an atmosphere of relaxation. The staff was very friendly and polite . The room was beautiful and comfortable. The pool was wonderful, it was a delight to find that it was a heated pool. When we went to dinner, the staff was very friendly and professional . The dinner tasted wonderful, everything was so delicious . We then went on the roof to the lounge which was beautiful. It has a laid back atmosphere and a wonderful view of Port-of-Spain and the surrounding areas, it also has a bar. The hotel also has a fitness room which was clean and spacious , it has treadmills, weights and bikes. My whole stay was wonderful and I plan to go back anytime that I good back to Trinidad, and I will recommend this hotel to anyone who goes to Trinidad.

The hotel and staff are excellent.. The pool area and bar excellent.. The rooms are beautiful.. The hallways smell musky.. The room had and overwhelming smell of mold.. The walls were damp To touch.. The bed was a Murphy Bed.. When I retracted it To the wall you could see mold on the underside of the Platform.. I checked out and stayed at another hotel.
