"Excellent staff, great pool"
Our stay at the JW was amazing! I have read some of the negative reviews before booking this stay. I was a little concerned, because this is not a cheap hotel. But in my 4 day stay with my family, the staff was very friendly and accomodating. They even gave us a fridge when we asked about it, at no charge. The lazy river was the main reason for choosing […] the JW. And indeed, it was a good reason! The children had a blast, and I felt at ease that they are in a safe environment. The food was not cheap, though. The fitness center is also a long walk from the hotel. And it closes at 10:00. It should be open 24/7, considering that other fitness centers are able to do that. Overall, this hotel is top notch. It is quiet, clean and looks grand in the entrance. I will have no problem staying here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Costly"
We enjoyed our stay very much but found everything very expensive. Eating there was major cost e.g. Went for drink and something small to eat in lobby bar. Very poor selection as we don't like sushi, what we got was reheated, tasteless and we paid $70 for privilege . Went out to a local diner next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful Hotel but customer service is a joke!"
I stayed at this hotel to celebrate my gfs bday.A good friend of hers works at the hotel and wanted to upgrade her room as a bday present. So upon arrival the fd agent said that she would have to discuss the upgrade w her manager. At that point MARYELLEN came over and asked what employee req’d the upgrade.(For some reason the upgrade was put on the […] resv but not the person who req’d it)I then told Maryellen the name of the emp that put in for the upgrade(but I was off by one letter bc I could barely hear her through my cell phone)she told me there was no such employee with that name.Seconds later I was texted the correct spelling of the name and repeated it correctly to MaryEllen only for her to say "Yes that person works here, but doesnt have the privilege to upgrade” It doesnt bother me that this person may/may not have the ability to request an upgrade, it bothers me that MaryEllen knew exactly what employee I was referring to and played completely stupid bc I was one letter off with my pronunciation.I understand if you dont want to give me the upgrade, tell me your full/its not available. Dont try and make me feel stupid bc YOUR employees dont put enough notes on the reservation in the first place. If I would have said the GMs name I bet she would have given me the upgrade! Either way Maryellen at the front desk needs to reevaluate her attitude at work,if she doesnt like her job find a new one bc clearly hospitality is not for you! BEAUTIFUL HOTEL BUT WAY OVER PRICEDGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Upscale... very nice!"
A very high-end hotel! All the bells and whistles with great pool and outdoor area. On the down side- in the middle of large acreage; therefore, not in walking distance of anything, including affordable food. Hotel food very costly. Also, no free services (wi-fi fees...).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent stay"
Other than the odd pressure of the Vacation Club staff at multiple entrances, it was a remarkable stay. The Vacation Club sakes people were nice but awkward to be confronted numerous times over a few days. Not much in the way of choices in dining at hotel. The only non-upscale option had a very cafeteria type feel. That said, I would recommend to anyone […] with kids or business traveler. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

""Very disappointing"."
Upon arrival we were told there was a waiting list for a refrigerator, although I had requested this upon booking my reservation. This did not arrive until late the following day, which was disappointing. While obviously we are in Orlando, the hallways were full of screaming children, as late as 2:00am. We were awoken, and had actually tell the children […] to please be quiet and return to their rooms. I honeslty wonder where the adult was. They adverstise a lazy river, but we have to purchase the tubes for this aquatic activity. Forget the restaurant, just awful, service was horrible to say the least. But finally the most frustrating part of the the trip was the self-parking. The lot was full and parking was quite a distance from the hotel. Also the gates were not operating properly, so that inself was a complete mess. I have stayed a the Ritz-Carlton, which is adjacent to the Marriott, and that was by far a much more pleasant experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was completely overpriced for the ammenities they offer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The ultimate in relaxation and escape"
From the moment we walked inside we felt we had escaped the world! The hotel and grounds are beautiful. There were so many fun amenities - we only stayed one night - but we took advantage of the pool area and the enjoyed the beautiful view from our 8th floor balcony, both during the day and at night. We had dinner in the restaurant on the pool level […] - the food was delicious and our server, Cher, was wonderful! Just one night gave us many memories of a relaxing stay and we can't wait to go back for a longer stay! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing!"
This hotel and it's entire property are simply amazing. I did 2 days of business and 2 days of time with the wife. We absolutley loved everything about our stay.. It's only minutes from the airport, the property is so well maintained, and very private. The Pool is perfect, hundreds of guests yet you still felt very "uncroweded" as the chairsand various […] pool areas are so well placed and secluded. The best part was floating around the lazy river all day with a beer in my hand and not getting grief for it. The mix of people was perfect and even though there was alot of children, it was never loud or unruley. I will without question stay here again in the future.. I need to get a round of golf in.. If I did have a negative.. the parking at $19.00 a night, the beers at $7.50 a piece.. but it's all worth the price for the slice of paradise, just plan on it.. ( $60 for 2 breakfast buffets)... "A nice resort, but too crowded over Memorial Day."
I would say that overall the service was very good (especially the front desk staff), although the service in the restaurants was quite slow. The meals were expensive, which we expected at a resort, but the quality didn't really match the prices. The layout of the resort is well-planned and we enjoyed the pools and the fitness center, though for my […] taste it was over-crowded during the holiday weekend. Luckily we got there Thursday and got to enjoy a day and a half of quiet before the mobs arrived en masse. They needed more staff in the pool area for drink orders, especially for the weekend. A word to the wise-it's impossible to get around there without a car, so if you plan on leaving the resort, even to go to the mall, make sure you rent one or pay a fortune in taxis. Overall a pleasant stay and I would recommend it if you want to be in Orlando but not necessarily in the madness of Disney itself. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice but pricey"
We enjoyed our stay here but found the tubes for seven dollars each too big and too a waste of money. Big and crowded in the pool area but we had fun and cooled off in the lazy river. Otherwise everything costs money self parking 18 a night and valet 24. Food good but pricey too. May stay at the renaissance next time!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great getaway."
Great hotel with an awesome pool and lazy river. Very courteous staff. Stated six nights. Upon check in they were nice enough to give me complinentary parking for the duration of my stay. Otherwise self parking is 19/day. Food at Citron was good. Slightly expensive but dinner and breakfast buffets were a very good deal at 25/person. Convenient to the […] parks. "Overrated and overpriced!!!!!!"
From the delayed check-in to the time we left, this hotel was a major disappointment. The service was terrible. They were understaffed everywhere, from the pool to the lobby to housekeeping. My expectations were a little high, since we were paying $ 17.00 for a Marguerita or Bloody Mary by the pool (18% tip included ) and $15.00 for a hamburger.I would not […] go back!!!!! "JW Marriott, Orlando for relaxation and luxury"
Excellent hotel. Large rooms - we were 2 adults +_ 2 kids in a 2 queen bed room. Large enough, no problem. Waterpark - pools and artificial rivers were excellent. Great place to relaxe, read a book, drink a beer, play with kids, whatever.. (With my shades, I even managed to not being recognized, except for once in the elevator) Hotel staff excellent, […] lobby bar is great! What I didn't like is the forced 22% service charge plus 3$ for room service and restaurants. Food became very pricey. Nearly impossible to do any meal under 100$. "Good and Bad"
We were disappointed that our initial room with two double beds (not big enought for two adults we were a party of three) was next to the elevators so we requsted a different room with a king size bed with a pull out. The hotel swithched our room without hesitation. When pulled out the pull out it was saturated in urine!! This was absolutely disgusting!!!! […] The room was small for a weeks stay. We have stayed at other JW Marriott Hotels where the room was bigger and more comfortable for a family. Parking is almost $20.00 per day, we spent $100.00 just to park the car! Drinks by the pool were $15.00 plus per drink! We were "nickeled and dimed" for everything. The pool was lovely, but had many children rough housing so it was difficult to relax. However, The Ritz next store is available for use with less expensive drinks and WONDERFUL service. The dining options are limited and expensive as well. I asked for a boiled egg at one of the dining establishments and the women behind the counter rolled her eyes and made a comment under her breathe that I could just do the buffet and it be easier for all. Needless to say I did not have breakfast at The JW that day. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"One of the best"
We just came back from our 5 days vacation in Orlando. We stayed 5 nights at this JW Marriott Orlando and I highly recommend this resort. The place is so beautiful. From the lobby to the pools, tennis court, the lake .... each place is well taken care and maintained. Even at the tennis court, there is fresh, cool drinking water being prepared daily […] for guests. The room is clean and modern. We have been to many places and resorts such as in Mexico, Las Vegas, Europe, etc ... This Marriott is one of the best for the price. We even met a popular Miami Heat basketball player, Juwan Howard, there during our stay at the hotel. He was so nice that he took a picture with my son. We just cannot wait to have a chance to come back to this resort!!!! I just don't understand why this hotel is rated as 4 stars? This hotel is better than some of the 5 stars hotel in Las Vegas such as the Venetian. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The stay at JW was pleasant, my family had a great time. I didnt understand why a hotel that has lazy river and cannot provide the rubber tire tube. other 4 star hotels provide it and include it in the price. I was taken by surprise.
