The rooms were immaculate and the personal notes left on my pillow were a nice touch. Be sure to get a room with a plunge pool or private pool - worth the extra money. The pool and beach lounge area is excellent and serene (made it difficult to motivate for activities!). Morning breakfast included everything you could possibly want. The treetop restaurant is amazing. We loved the property. The staff was very friendly. The only change I would have liked to see was to have more seating in the pool area. Many of the seats are shaded.

We were actually quite surprised how reasonable the restaurant prices were for an upscale resort like this. We booked a plunge pool villa and it was well worth it. Couples definitely need to try this type of accommodation. The plunge pool is 4mx4m and while it is not ideal for swimming, it was a fantastic alternative to cool off after a very hot day out. The pool area and private beach were well maintained and provided a lovely place to relax - that is, until the onslaught of families with young children overtook the peacefulness! I suppose that's what you get during the holiday season, however I was surprised this was the case as the hotel is definitely positioned as more of a couples destination. The hotel itself probably once deserved a 4 or 5 star rating, however it's in dire need of maintenance in some areas. We stayed in a deluxe plunge pool room, expecting our pool to be private, however when we got there, we noticed there was a room on top of ours that looked straight into the pool - kind of defeated the purpose of having our own private pool! We were a bit disappointed with Anantara Lawana, as we felt that the way it was portrayed online didn't reflect the current quality of the resort. I wouldn't recommend this resort to friends as I believe there are better places to stay for the price, but if you're after somewhere friendly just out of the main strip, it's a good resort. Anantara Lawana is an amazing place if your wishlist consists of - luxury, comfort, hospitality and perfection. We stayed there for our anniversary celebration for 3 nights and 4 days. The hotel is perfectly situated on Chaweng beach in Samui, easy to explore the island on your scooty! The manager Lars specially was great as he ensured that we had a […] special time there. Anantara Lawana was such an amazing place to stay. It's perfect for couples who want to relax. I loved it so much I struggled to leave. We stayed in the room with private plunge pool. It was lovely to have our own private backyard area with a wooden terrace to have a candle lit dinner provided by the room service if we were lazy. The room was clean […] and spacious, with an outdoor bathroom which was very interesting. The rain shower was also a new experience that was quite fun. I loved the morning breakfast buffet which had everything you could ever wish for in a nice outdoor setting overlooking the pool and the beach. The room service from Ocean Kiss was also great, very efficient in delivering the food and picking up plates after. We also went to Tree Tops for dinner which was like nothing we've ever done before. It was so romantic and made much better by staff that really knew what they were talking about, especially our waiter Korn who we had lots of fun with experimenting with the different salts. The service at the hotel is outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were very well taken care of by Took, who offered us ice cold refresher towels and some tea before she checked us in. She also helped us change money and organise tours. Pla was a joy to see each morning at breakfast, always very happy. Also, Pum was an excellent person to have around as he drove us around in the buggy and assisted us with our bags etc. Overall, a perfect 5 star hotel. Read more

This is my third different hotel in the Chaweng area of Samui, so I know the pros and cons of this area quite well now. The hotel and facilities are very good, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is however not so great: (1) the beach outside of the hotel is ordinary to say the least, the beach further south around the headland is […] much nicer; (2) the hotel is too far north so the local sellers offering cheap drinks/food/fruit/etc do not often walk up the beach this far, so you are forced to pay the hotel's western prices for drinks/food whilst on the beach and also (3) you cannot walk into the main Chaweng area (too far) and require to pay for the local taxi service. The hotel should recognise (3) and provide a free courtesy service into the Chaweng area. I cannot fault the hotel's staff, very friendly and very helpful, excellent!! Its just the location which lets this place down. If you are looking for a hotel with good facilities, away from the main centre and are happy to sit around the pool all day (in lieu of the beach) then this hotel will most likely tick all your boxes. My only complain is sometimes the bed sheets and the towels were not clean. The beach and the sea around the hotel is not as I expected. チャウエンビーチのはずれに位置しているため喧騒からは離れ、プライベートビーチもあって静か。　　たまたまかもしれないが利用者に欧米の中高年層が多かったため一層落ち着いた印象が強かった。 プールアクセスを利用したが、トイレとシャワー（バスタブは別）がオープンエリアにあって内側との扉がないため蚊などの虫の出入りが自由なのが少し驚いた。 スタッフは出会った人全てが丁寧な挨拶をしてくれ気分良く過ごせた。 ブーゲンやゴールデンシャワーなどの配置がもっと多ければより好印象かと。
