Absolutely disgusting. I had to ask for cleaner to clean the bathroom and the front desk said " I don't blame you". We had to wear flipflops in the room and the shower. Only two towels for the four of us. Holes and mold on walls and floor. We stripped the beds used our own blankets. I stayed in Norfolk because the prices in Virginia Beach are very high in the summer and Savannah Suites is convenient for a day trip to the beach. When we got to the motel, it was nice on the outside...during the day. Upon entering the motel, I discovered a place that was used mostly as low-income housing with a few rooms used as a motel. Wow. This […] was NOT advertised in hotels.com! Our room was fairly clean, but one of the double beds had a mattress that was covered in plastic. Gross. It was hot to sleep on and crunched the whole night (when we were able to sleep) and who knows why there was plastic in the first place! The place is loud and there are people yelling and slamming doors the whole time. We escaped to the beach for a few hours just so that we had to only be at the motel to sleep. When we got back at about 9pm, the parking lot was full of people selling drugs! I'm fairly certain that there was a ton of illegal activity happening inside the building, as well. During the time that my family was trying to sleep, someone either banged hard on our wall or tried to get inside the door. They made such noise that scared me, my husband, and my infant daughter that we kept one eye open that night and when the sun rose, we got out of there as fast as possible. It was a nightmare and the worst place that I have ever been, let alone STAY AT! If you have booked this place already, PLEASE cancel it and stay ANYWHERE ELSE! Read more

Two Stars is probably too high for this hotel. This is a one star hotel at best. My bathroom wasn't very clean at all. The remote control to the TV did not work at all. When I first checked in 6 hours before typical check in time, I knew I was going to be happy. I arrived early on the morning of check in day because I wanted to get ahead of the hurricane that may or may not have been affecting the area. After driving up from Florida and having been awake 24 hours, needless to say I didn't even need to ask to check […] in early. The gentleman at the front desk could apparently see my exhaustion, checked me in at 8:30am and wished me a comfortable rest. I was checked in quickly and proceeded up to my room for much needed sleep. Overall the room was very clean and very comfortable. I noticed upon taking off my shoes that the carpet (clean in a vacuumed sense, mind you), it felt a little sticky. However, in all fairness, being a smoker I had a smoking room. I know the consequences of smoking indoors with virtually no ventilation. Surprisingly though, for a smoking room, it was not smelly. Just the carpet being a little sticky. Tub didn't drain very quickly as a shower was taken, but hey, the water pressure was great and hot!! Work took me to that area and subsequently kept me there an extra day. I was told that the hotel was (over) booked solid for the (Labor Day) weekend when I had inquired about an additional room for my crew that had to come down. Going through Hotels.com I ended up making a reservation for two rooms for the next day. Kept my room and got another. The next day, the clerks made things happen, rechecked me into my room and kept their promise they'd call when the second room became available. And again, allowed my crew to check in early. The location of the hotel could not be better. Plenty of restaurants, stores (especially those types where you may need something while traveling such as Walmart and Target) all within the immediate vicinity. The hotel clerk was rude at check in. The hotel was like Grand Central Station, people in and out all night. It seemed that it was a permanent home for some guest. The police were called to site a couple of times. It was constant arguing and door slamming and kids crying practically all night.

the staff were awesome, the carpet in room needed updating or super cleaning, there were deodorizer discs in a/c causing very strong smell in room, could not get extra pillows, noisy guest leaving at 4 am this lasted for about ten to fifteen minutes doors closing loudly and talking, bed needed new mattress.
