Great little gem of a hotel located across from the beautiful Askelli Beach. Hotel has quaint country character. A little too far to walk to town but only a few minutes (~E4,00) taxi ride.

Front desk staff were wonderful- we were so impressed! The room was just a bit small, out of date and the shower was hand-held. Overall the room was clean and staff were great.

Lovely hotel. It was spotlessly clean and the views are absolutely breathtaking - panaromic views of the ocean from all around! Breakfast was not varied but it was very generous and tasty (toast, jam, cheese, ham, eggs, greek yogurt and honey, cakes) and came with very friendly service. We travelled at the end of the season so our dining options were […] limited (restaurant closed early in the evenings because of there being no guests and the surrounding tavernas had all closed down for the winter). BUT I think this would be amazing a bit earlier in the year. It was a 20 minute walk to Poros town where there were plenty of bars and restaurants so as long as you don't mind walking there is heaps of choice! We were some of very few guests in the hotel and we had the swimming pool (gorgeous rooftop pool with views of the sea) to ourselves the entire time, and the beach to ourselves most of the time. I have stayed at the hotel for 4 days, in the mid October. The services were good, including the location. The only bad point that I have to mention it is the fact that one of the persons in charge (a British lady) was quite rude. She did not care too much about our comfort and the use of the restaurant’s terrace by the guests was not among her favorite […] things to take care of. Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Only a 2 minute walk to the small but nice Askeli beach, the hotel also has a pool and lounge area which you can also use. All hotel staff were helpful and pleasant.

To sum it up, the hotel needs some updating. But, in its defense, the whole town could use some updating...but that was the charm of Poros. We didnt have the time (or money) to go to Santorini or any other 'big name' islands, so we decided on the 1hr ferry to Poros. We loved it! Rent a ATV or moped and cruise the whole island...its well worth it! As […] for the New Aegli: Its in a good location, only a 20 min walk to town, or a 3 euro cab ride (or free with your ATV!) it was clean and the staff was very nice. The hotel does need some TLC, but with the great views of the beach, who cares if the two single beds are just pushed together to make a king, and the TV is a 13 in tube TV... Very pleasant and agreeable . Staff were very friendly and hard working . The only problem was that the restaurant was licensed to someone else so no drinks or meals could be chargeed to the room . I have been staying in Poros for 25 years, and have seen the insides of most hotels and many apartments. The average quality of accommodation in Poros is at best mediocre. Poros is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt islands in Greece, but some years ago the 'package tour' operators from the UK pulled out due to transfer costs (there is no airport […] on the island). This was a good thing for loyal visitors like myself, but has meant a lack of investment in infrastructure. So I was very surprised at the high standards achieved at the New Aegli by Spiros and his family. Nothing was too much trouble, the receptions was staffed 24/7, the location was perfect with the beach view rooms giving you an unrivalled view of the Poros sunrise over the sea. The facilities were clean and spot on, the WiFi works throughout the hotel and there's no charge, the balconies are large, the aircon works and the decor is clean and modern. This is the best hotel I have stayed in, in 25 years of regular visits to Poros and I will certainly book again. One last thing, I am part Greek and know many of the islands. Few are as exquisite as Poros for peaceful beaches, stunning scenery, great food. It's not a clubbing island and you won't find any hoodies there, but for couples, lone travellers and small groups in search of some relaxation it's just perfect. Read more

Godt beliggende hotel. I October skal man regne med at en del er lukket som f.eks hotellet restaurant, og askeli strand restauranterne, så man skal til poros by for restaurant besøg . poolen var 20grader..havet 25gr....

Die Küche wird geführt von einem langjährigen Koch, der keine Mühe scheut, den Kunden griechische Spezialitäten zu präsentieren. Super Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Vi er en gjeng med damer som var på langhelg på Poros. Vi er svært fornøyde med hotellet, det var gullende rent over alt, personalet var hyggelige og rommene bra. Det som ikke var bra var maten i restauranten. Vi hadde flere forskjellige retter, noen var smakfulle og gode, andre var kalde og kjedelige. Dette var på en "gresk aften" der vi ble "lovet" […] gresk musikk og dans. En enslig mann og hans gitar var underholdningen. Vi var ganske skuffet over det.
