Hotel was on quaint little street in Old Quebec. Room was on the 4th floor with a pretty view of the street below. Room was very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem was that we found the room a little too hot at night. We just tried to turn the heat down ourselves but maybe we should have asked for staff assistance, so that […] was probably our mistake. We were there also during a snow storm which was great for us as we planned to cross-country ski while we were there! The snow removal crews in Quebec City are very efficient, so they were there very early in the morning(5:45 am). Great for skiers that want to hit the trails very,very early in the morning but that's not us! They woke my husband and me. However, we just looked out the window to see what was making all the noise in the street below and laughed and went back to sleep. Our daughter did not even wake up!!! So, it didn't really bother us that much!!! If you are a light sleeper or don't want to get woken up that early and snow is in the forecast, you might prefer a room in the back. But you will miss that quaint street view!!! We would definitely stay there again!!!! Read more

I was looking for an affordable room in the heart of old Quebec and chose Hotel Acadia from the Hotels.com listing because the reviews were excellent and the price included breakfast. A really nice, convenient hotel with a very comfortable room, especially the bed. The location is right in the Quebec Old City, so you can walk to everything. The staff was very accommodating, cheerful and helpful. There is also parking available. What's not to love?

On a positive note, the hotel staff is professional and knowledgeable. We got a great recommendation for a restaurant and tour (Old Quebec Toours). We love quirky, boutique type hotels and avoid typically American kinds of places. However, this was not acceptable. Fifth floor with such narrow and steep stairs that it is difficult to carry luggage. The […] room was small, but would not have been an issue if you could stand upright in all of it; I am 5'4'' tall and was able to move around about half the space without hitting my head. The bathroom is part of the room; shower and sink right next to the bed although the toilet was closed off in what might have been the closet at some point. No closet. Nothing to put luggage on so it had to be left open on the floor. There was ongoing construction project directly across the street that started up at 7:30 each morning. We asked for a room with exposed brick and we did get that, but I think the hotel had an obligation to state that construction noise could be an issue and offer another location in the hotel. Looking at the final bill made him realize we absolutely should have demanded another room. This room cost more than double what it should have once you paid the taxes and the charge for the car being parked for 2 days. Not acceptable and I have to wonder if Hotel.com customers are given same level of accommodations as others. Read more

We thought it was perfect for us. My friend has oxygen and cannot do stairs - and they gave us a main floor room. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating to us. The roon had everything - ironing board, iron, curling iron, shower/tub toilet in one room and sink in main room. Perfect pillows, and very comfortable beds. Great service and ideal location for old town Quebec. Only a couple of complaints. The bathroom was small although adequate. It would have been nice if they had a shelve by the shower for the towels instead of having to set the clean towels on the closed toilet seat. We did have a wonderful stay.

We have stayed at this hotel before and really enjoyed the hotel. Like everything else in Old Quebec, this building is very old but it is still quaint. There are no two room alike. We stayed in a Queen Deluxe room and had an ample amount of room. However the rooms are starting to look a little tired and in need of some refreshing. The bed was comfortable. […] Having a shower was an interesting experience with the water turning suddenly very hot or very cold. Eating establishments and shopping were within easy walking distance. The people working at the front desk were friendly and willing to answer questions or give advice. Most of the people working at the hotel were able to speak some English. Great location in Old Quebec. We were able to park our car for the stay and walk to everything. Because the hotel was near capacity, my wife and I were upgraded to a very large and beautiful suite at no additional cost.. Bilingual staff were all very accommodating.

Tried two rooms here, both good looking and reasonablly priced. The suite upgrade had a shower that was barely usable though - had a weird option where it would use either side jets or just overhead, and temperature control barely worked. So the workaround was using the jacuzzi instead (which wasn't a bad alternative)

Booked a 4 night stay for anniversary. Hotel very easy to find with great location in upper Old Quebec. Warm greeting by everyone from valet to front desk. The lack of elevators not a problem as the valet carried our bags up to the room without having been requested. Believed I had requested a deluxe room with brick wall yet that was not where we were […] placed. After a brief discussion with the front desk, they (2 employees) worked very hard to grant my request, and did find the room I wanted. I still am not clear if the error was mine, the web site I used or the hotel but they did everything in their power to make me happy. The staff was very nice, we only stayed for a night, so I can't say much about house keeping, etc. Our room was small with no view, but it was very cozy and very comfortable. This hotel is well staffed, well situated to enjoy lovely walks around Olde Towne, both upper and lower. The beds and bedding were especially comfortable. I enjoyed people walking from the window sills of this main floor, street side room. The windows opened so I could breath fresh air and hear the sounds of the city. I would return there.

This hotel is very cute and quaint from the outside and in the lobby areas. However, this did not carry over into our room. We were given a room on the fifth floor, which turned out to be an attic type of room. First of all, there is no elevator. This would have been manageable if the stairs were not extremely narrow. Since the hotel is old, the staircases […] were very narrow, the ceilings were low, and it was challenging getting our regular sized bags up and down. Our room was arranged in a manner in which there was only about 10-12 inches between the foot of the bed and the wall, so in order to get to the other half of the room, you had to lean on the bed and scoot through sideways. It was very inconvenient and awkward. The TV was not viewable from the bed also due to the set up of the room. The bedding, carpet, furniture, etc. were all very worn and are in need of updating. The wifi was very unreliable and we could often not get a signal at all. I really thought that I was going to love this hotel, but I ended up being disappointed. I chose this hotel in part due to the reviews, so i don't know if other rooms had a better set up or not, but the room that we got was very uncomfortable. The location is great, within walking distance to all parts of the old city. Quebec is wonderful and we enjoyed many great restaurants, great shopping, and exploring. Read more

They do have parking for an $18 fee but make sure you rent or bring a small car because the parking lot is right next to the hotel and is narrow. Hotel Acadia is a solid choice for any traveler especially tourist who looks for comfort, cleanliness and convenience on a decent budget. This is not a boutique or high end hotel but does offer a great place to call "home" while in Quebec Cityt. The bathroom and room were both spacious. The windows opened to charming rue Stainte-ursule - and expect […] typical city "noises" if the windows are open. The staff is very welcoming to English speakers and are all bilingual. They helped us locate a grocery, pharmacy and make dinner reservations. For $3 you can rent a movie to watch on the DVD player in the room. Minimal selection but decent choices. Breakfast is at a restaurant around the corner. It is so-so in quality but is fine for a first cup of coffee. This hotel is extremely convenient to many tourist locations including the Citadel, rue Sainte-Jean where many restaurants are located and a pleasant walk to the Hotel Frontenanc area. The horse drawn carriages can pick you up right at the hotel. Would definitely recommend to people who desire accommodations which are affordable but of high quality. Read more

There was no room maintenance for two days we stayed. Complained about leaking shampoo but no response. Receptionists are helpful but we haven't seen maintenance staff. Rooms are decent but small and pricy.
