"Too High For Us"
The quality of the resort & the amenities were great. The rooms were very comfortable. Unfortunately we did not realize the altitude (9600 ft) when we ordered the rooms. We did not know this was a ski resort in the winter time. Several of our members were hit with altitude sickness. We had to leave the next day. Te staff was very courteous & helpful.

Very friendly staff! Lodge is at a great location surrounded by trails. Since it's off season maintenance throughout was apparent. The elevator was out of service and doorknobs were missing in the laundry/ice room. Seemed like a great place for families with younger kids too. I will definitely go back with my kids in the near future.

"Almost, but not quite..."
I was initially impressed with the location of this hotel. Very secluded, quiet, and in beautiful surroundings. The road to get to the hotel is long, windy, and steep. It was not very convenient to our activities in Cedar City, but that is in no way the hotel's fault. The drawbacks to this hotel was 1)The shower in the room was too "prickly". The mist was fine and forceful making it feel like little needles all over the body. The next day I thought I would avoid the shower in the room and use the shower at the pool after my workout. The water in the pool shower would not get warm :-(. I really wanted to like this place but that is difficult without a really good shower. 2) The elevator in the building we were in was broken. 3) The doors are extremely heavy from the stairwell to the hallway and from the hallway to the room.

"Would stay again"
At first we were so excited because it looked beautiful. Then we were given a nice room a little dated in the living area but overall it was nice, in a tower with a broken elevator, luckily, we were on the lower floor. Trash was piled up at the elevator and there was no sense of security. The pool area was nice and they had a good work out room, but the game room was sad. The next day at breakfast they were limited to one cook and we waited 45 minutes for our food. The food was good but some of it was cold. One thing they can work on is guest service. So important when you've travelled far expecting amazing service at an amazing vacation destination. Overall, I would stay there again if I had a room in the main tower.

Overall this is a nice place & the room was very accommodating with all the kitchen amenities. Beds were comfy, towels fluffy & clean but 1 of the bathrooms made a loud squealing noise for the first 2min. or so of turning on the shower faucet. Minor setback, the elevator was out & we were on the 3rd floor. Had a spacious room & great time. Would stay here again, couldn't beat the price for the 2 room villa we had

"This really was an "off" season"
Talk about making a bad first impression. We were welcomed by their front desk person Lucas. Lucas was having a hard time just getting through his check-in procedure. We were informed after they put us in a room that the elevator was broken and we'd have to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. Lucas then looked at my husband and said "you're bigger than me so you should have no problem getting it up the stairs." It ended up being 2 flights of stairs and 2 trips. All the restaurants in the lodge were closed, so we went to a neighboring lodge to get food, should have just stayed there. The room was hot, with all the windows open. The pillows were too big so we got down the extra pillows, one of them had wine, or blood stains, and who knows what else the brown stains were. Went to pour some wine to help relax, one of the wine glasses was cracked, one of them was dirty, like with wine still in it. Next morning, no place to get breakfast in the hotel, only had 2 packets of decaf, no regular. Called the front desk and Kendall said, "Yeah, you should have had regular too." We didn't. Checked out, told Kendall about all the problems, Kendall said, "Oh, sorry to hear that, should I charge the $10 'resort' fee to the card on file?". Kendall would not waive the resort fee. Nice town, worst resort experience ever.

"No amenities at all, and no customer service."
All amenities listed were either unavailable or cost significantly extra. The shower in the room had so much hard water build up that it shot super hard out of only a few of the 'holes' and actually hurt to shower, while somehow leaving you 1/2 wet and still dirty. When I complained to the manager at the front counter she said "We get that complaint a lot." and didn't care at all. The free breakfast was unavailable. The hot tub was inside the spa which cost extra, the fire place did not work the television in the room did not work. Basically nothing worked, and anything working cost extra. I would have been glad to pay more if anything advertised worked, or was 'running'. Was super disappointed this had really high ratings. And the customer service was non-existent.

"9500ft altitude might be to high for many people"
Our stay was for one night during a long auto trip. We were given a room on the third floor in a building with a nonworking elevator. This normally wouldn't of been a problem, but it was our first sign of altitude sickness. Shortly afterward we both developed a severe headache which did not respond to Tylenol. Assuming you can tolerate high altitude and don't mind a hotel that needs a lot of remodeling, the room was comfortable and clean. A local shopkeeper told us that Brian Head is the third highest city in the US. Skiers will love it because it's close to the lifts.

"Dissapointed in the Offseason"
My wife and I stayed at this hotel in the off season, hoping for what we thought would be a fun stop over on a long road trip, have some good breakfast and maybe get a quick hike in before we left early afternoon the next day. Unfortunately, we got in a bit later than we wanted, made worse by the fact that the computer system went down (the woman at the front desk admitted that this happens every Monday night and she always forgets to print out the bookings) delaying us getting to our room by just a little. This would have been fine, except that just as we got settled in the room (in a different building) and about to go to sleep, the front desk called and asked me back down since the computer system came back on (I was told earlier that I could just take care of it in the morning). Coupled with the fact that we could not get our room below 82 degrees F when it was in the 50s outside, the cabinet door was broken, all the food facilities were undergoing repairs, and a minor case of altitude sickness on both our parts made this hotel the worst night on our 7 day road trip. I'm sure this hotel is fantastic during ski season, but during summer the experience was lackluster (gorgeous views, though).

"Overall great stay"
Beautiful lodge. We stayed in a two bedroom suite with two kings and a pull out couch. The two king beds were very comfortable, the pull out sofa was ok for a pull out sofa. I have no real complaints, other than the fact that the hotel reapplied polyurethane to all of the floors during our stay, making the entire hotel smell really bad. We could have asked to switch buildings, but it didn't occur to us, and the smell didn't get to our room until the day we were checking out. I would recommend that the hotel not put guests in buildings where floors are getting refinished. I can't discredit the hotel too much though, because as we were checking out, the lady at the front desk said they would have been happy to move us if we had asked. Other than that, the hotel is beautiful, the pool/hot tubs were great, and the rooms were just what we were looking for.

"I should have checked the map!"
I gave this a low score for neighborhood even though it's on top of a mountain and pretty impressive in that sense. The problem is that it's listed with Panguitch Hotels and it's a long 25 miles over high mountain roads away. It's a ski lodge and was, at least for us, way less than ideal as a place to break for a night before heading either to Zion or Bryce Canyon. Panguitch would have been a good choice, but not Brian Head. Since it's off season, there were few options for food or other services. No breakfast and other hotel services are limited. I'm sure it's a great ski lodge, but I wouldn't use it again off season

"Exceeded Expectations"
We stayed shortly after off season so got a good deal on a room. It's a decent drive up Brian Head and got caught in a few rain storms. The staff was super friendly and nice. The room was awesome with a fireplace, better than what we expected. Our favorite part was the pool/spa area. Indoor heated pool, 2 large jacuzzis (one next to a fireplace, wet and dry sauna. All of this with windows out looking the mountain. Got to eat in the restaurant before it closed for the season, very good , reasonably priced, and great atmosphere. Overall great place, thought it would be decent but it exceeded expectations.

"Close and Convenient to the Ski Lodges"
My biggest advice is be careful what building you are in! I didn't expect the hotel to be broken out into 2 or 3 separate buildings, but it was. That wouldn't normally be a major problem, but when you want to go swimming (in the MAIN building) and it's 28 outside in April, it makes a BIG difference. It was a real chore to have to "winterize" a 6- and 9-year-old to get them from our building over to the main building just to swim; and then you have to do it all over again to get them back! So I liked the place just fine; it was a tad pricey, but not too bad. And enough with the resort fees already. Just add $10 to the room charge and give me free internet. Don't charge a required "resort fee" of $10--which I really don't see any extra services for. The only thing I got out of the deal was the internet. Another important thing to know if that they do NOT have daily maid service in the rooms. Again, it's not a big deal, but they only come every 2-3 days and if you need towels you have to get them at the desk or call. The front desk staff was excellent. We never had maid service, but I wonder about them since ALL three of the clocks in our room were on different times and they were all wrong. And I don't just mean a few minutes or one hour ahead or back, it was like 2:24 minutes fast. Obviously they don't work at that level of detail.

The room was great. Nice and comfortable for me and my family. The only complaint about the room is that the DVD player didn't work. Since we didn't talk to the front desk about it, I don't know how ready they were to replace it. But the staff were always as nice and as accommodating as they could be. Housekeeping was quick to respond and did an excellent job. Everything was under renovation when we stayed there though - from the sauna to the game room (big disappointment that we couldn't use that). Other than that, it was a great stay.
