"perfect to visit our son at Penn tenn tech"
only 2 miles from Pennsylvania college of technology. We liked the kitchenette. The only drawback was the bed, we couldn't get comfy, we are use to an air bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We only stayed overnight, but this would be a great place for an extended stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with a full-sized refrigerator, sink, stove, etc. We were served a hot breakfast at the adjoining hotel, which was delicious. The coffee wasn't great, but hotel coffee never is.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for our purpose"
Hotel was clean, nice size rooms and beds, big enough TV, full kitchen. Location to nearby colleges drove our selection. People working in hotel were very nice, friendly, and informative. If we're in the area again, we'd stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The only problem we had was the comfort of the Bed. It was very uncomfortable. woke up with back pains.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The breakfast you had to walk to the next hotel over for it.. inconvenient in the cold for sure. The room was beautiful and had a fridge and stove.. so if you bring food to cook its perfect has all dishes and things you need as well as a microwave. It was clean and a nice room.. beds were a bit firm and lumpy.. but over all good place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Simple but Effective Accommodations"
Stayed here with a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 week old. 1 bedroom suite is the way to go to ensure at least some get to sleep through the night! Worked great. Lobby, etc. are very basic, but who cares. Staff was nice, and they had free DVDs to keep the toddler entertained! Roll away comes with a $10 charge, and somehow our request for it was lost via booking […] through hotels.com, but it worked out. Note free breakfast is included at the adjacent Best Western, but no one at the hotel offers that without your asking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"New facility, comfortable, good value for the rate"
This was a good experience for us. The room was nicer than we expected for the rate we paid. There were two minor issues that would not cause us not to use this facility again. 1) While the signage on the road directed us into the parking lot, actually finding the hotel was difficult. It is located behind two other facilities (another hotel and a restaurant), […] and there were no signs directing us to where the hotel we were looking for was. 2) The walls between the rooms seemed rather "thin." Though the people in the room adjacent to us were not raucous, we were trying to sleep, and we could easily hear specific words and conversations going on. Compared to many other hotel experiences, I would say this was the most "regular" noise I've ever heard staying in a hotel room. On the positive side, our room had a nice size full refrigerator/freezer, sink, two-burner stove, microwave, coffee maker, and enough pots, pans and dishes to make a small meal--perfect for us. The room itself and the bathroom were spacious. This would be a first choice for us if we ever need to stay in the area again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great home away from home. Comfortable large rooms with cozy beds, large work area, modern kitchenette, beautiful counters. I only wish that the internet wifi was a bit better. I had constant connectivity issues within their devices & server. Had to keep running diagnostics & fix to get running. A bit frustrating. Nice pool. We stayed for one night, but would be great for longer stay. Reception was super friendly. Very nice bonus: cookies, free soda, DVDs. Room was very clean, with kitchenette, amenities. Will definitely book again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was very nice and the staff was great and friendly. Everything about our stay was wonderful, except I found several longer hairs on our sheets which I didn't show my wife. But hairs on our sheets either meant they weren't clean or someone cleaning the bed was loosing hair.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Very nice room with the most comfortable bed, large space, well kept. The only negative was the fact that wifi does not work at the end of the hall where our room was. That needs to be fixed, no excuse for that.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Couldn't ask for better!"
I have stayed at another hotel in Williamsport before, and when I went to book it this time, discovered it was twice the cost it had been before, but Candlewood Suites had good prices this time so I decided to stay here. I am SO glad I did. The room was nicely updated with all new appliances in the kitchen and bathroom, including a really nice clock […] radio and flat screen TV. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the layout and lighting made sense. While they don't have a free breakfast, they do provide a complimentary bag at the front desk in the morning of an apple and a danish, which was completely unexpected. They have good coffee in the rooms which I really appreciated since hotel room coffee is usually pretty blah. Besides, while looking for a good place to eat breakfast, I found a fantastic place you can easily walk to across the parking lots called Round World Coffee, that has good breakfast sandwiches and fantastic German cinnamon rolls that are out of this world. For lunch or dinner there is a TGIF right next door, and all sorts of other places near by. And Lycoming College is about 5 minutes down the road. Since I'm going to have a child going there, I can foresee coming up to Williamsport from time to time. This is where I will stay as long as their rates are reasonable. "Love this hotel!"
I love this hotel! We've stayed here a couple of times and will continue to stay here. The rooms have a kitchen with a full sized refrigerator, a two burner stove, microwave, sink, full sized dishwasher, dishes, cookware, silverware and cooking utensils. They have everything you need for a few day stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Luck !"
First, the room keys had to be "re-programmed" 4 times in 24 hours. Then the front desk clerk wrote the wrong room number on the key holder. I paid for the "best" suite available, and was given a standard room. Finally, some of the rooms were listed as non smoking, this one was not.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was disappointed with my overall stay. When I initially booked the room I specified I wanted a ground floor room, when I arrived at check -in they gave me a 3rd floor room and said they did not have anything else available. The hotel attendant also informed me that housekeeping only comes every three days so I will not be receiving any housekeeping […] services during my weekend stay. Also the room I booked I thought it had two beds or at least a sleep sofa..but it only had one bed. It was very cramped for a family of four. Needless to say it was not worth the amount of money we spent and we could have stayed somewhere else with more room and housekeeping services for the same amount. I will never stay there again. I spoke to hotel.com agent to book a room, for 2 adults and 2 kids, i expected a bed for my kids , but it was not there in the room , and candlewood person requested to use Sofa pull up bed . I am not sure if the communication was not proper or this is the standard. Thanks ArunGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nicely set up kitchen in room; would be great for longer stay. Full siZe fridge with ice maker, also great for a longer stay, but we would have preferred an ice machine in the hotel (for instant ice). Also must remember to turban off ice maker at night for quiet. For us staying one night it was ok. The pool was not very large; we went for a look and […] decided against a swim. Front desk staff was nice, gave us a quiet room away from highway. Room was comfortable and practical, queen bed was fine, but not the best we have had. Easy access to I-180, near basic chain restaurants and short drive to town center. Very comfy A/C with wall t-stat control. Nothing bad to say, but not 5 star either. "Room was clean and nice size, very comfortable"
Hard to find from entrance on initially getting to hotel, Hotel is sandwiched behind a TGI Fridays and another hotel. Just need some better signage leading to hotel. Parking was a bit tight because hotel was full. Room was clean and nice size, very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel fine but full"
As with most hotels in this area, the hotel is consistently full of gas drilling workers with large pickups. Other than that, the hotel is fine with good service and a full parking lot which still had a few spaces.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

To all first time visitors, when you see the Candlewood sign and pull into the parking lot, don't freak out--you'll see a huge best western and TGI Friday sign. Candlewood is behind that building. Onward! My S.O. works out of town so every so often I'll drive out to closer locations to visit during his off days. I booked this particular hotel with Hotwire, hoping i'd luck out with the hotel he was staying at. Even though that didn't work out, I'm beyond pleased with this place. Like I said I had originally booked this through hotwire so when a friend asked if she could tag along to see her husband, I said sure and immediately called to request an upgrade to a double, having no idea what hotwire had issued me. The man at the front desk (Zach, maybe?) was very helpful and had no issues upgrading the room, answered what few questions I had, and it was all done in less than 5 minutes. Here's the part where I become the pain: the friend was unable to make it, so when I rolled in for checkin, I apologized and said I could be downgraded if they had the option (hate the idea of someone needing that extra bed..). Again, not an issue. I spoke with the same gentleman who'd helped me over the phone the day before. The only reason check in time took as long as it did was I never think to have my license plate number handy. He explained where my room was, where the pool, gym and self service laundry facilities were, where I can get breakfast the next morning (Best Western next door), anything I could hope for. One of the nice things I found really interesting is they have movies you can borrow behind the front desk, and they have a room with beverages, snacks and just random little things that you can take and fill out a form to have it billed to your room on the honor system. Now onto the rooms: I was actually amazed. I don't stay in hotels that often, but the last one I did stay at was a Hilton and this place is just as good, if not better. I never expect much when so when I walked into a room that could double for a really nice apartment on a campus, I was floored. Like, take a video giving my friend a tour, floored. This room is nicer than most apartments I've lived in. It would be a great place to stay if you needed to be in a hotel for an extended stay! I've always hated how a hotel room is just one huge room with no separation but in this one, there are clear lines. There's a small kitchen to the right as you walk in with a full fridge, dish washer, half sink, half stove, a microwave and a small pantry. There are also dish towels, hot pads, and clean dishes in the cabinet. To the left of the door is a run of the mill closet with a spare comforter, ironing board and iron. Next to it is a full bathroom. Walking straight into my room is a separate room for the bedroom which has a night stand, spare table, dresser and a television as well as another closet with a basket. If you're standing in the kitchen facing the window, there's a desk (table?) with a swivel chair and two regular chairs as well as a phone and on the other side is where your "living room" is. There was a small love seat, an end table, a leather chair and another small end table. Something else that surprised me was the fact that there was another TV as well as a DVD player which I've never had any other hotel provide. The stand the television is on also has drawers in case you have a ton of stuff to store. I've yet to sleep to be able to judge the bed, but a complimentary flop across the bedspread leads me to believe I will be beyond comfortable. It's soft yet firm enough to not kill your back. That's always going to be up to everyone's own opinion though, I can sleep like the dead on a floor. All in all, I am amazed. I don't even care where my S.O. is staying in the future, if it's in this area, I'm just booking here. The place is gorgeous, the staff is beyond helpful, and I am completely at ease which isn't a simple task when it comes to staying in unfamiliar places.

Spent the last weekend(5/30/14-61/14) at this hotel. Was our first stay at this hotel but not in Williamsport(we come here every 2 years while my husband works in DC as this is about the half way point for us to meet). We traveled with a teenager and a pet, so the king suite worked well. Un happy that there wasn't a grassy area for me to walk my dog other than a small spot by the grills. The A/C for the room really didn't cool the separate bedroom so we ended up wal-mart to buy a fan. Pool says indoor heated, the room the pool is in is very warm but the pool wasn't. The hot breakfast was shared with the best western so that meant we would have to go to the next hotel over(short walk) to eat. My boys opted to sleep late and we went to Denny's. Check-in/out staff was very friendly as was the housekeeping staff. King bed was comfortable and my son was happy on the sofa sleeper. The kitchenette was great also we bought some snacks back after our big day out. They also offer a late check-out which we used so we could a few minutes longer as a family.
"Great way to refresh on a trip"
05/28/14 Emily P Washington DC, District of Columbia
We picked this hotel because it was the closest "nice" place to Cherry Springs State Park (approx. 2 hours out.) The place has studio-style rooms with kitchenettes and also has a gym and free laundry machines there. If you're planning on camping out up there or are doing a longer roadtrip, this would be a great oasis. You could save money by cooking for yourself in the well-outfitted kitchenette and maybe get through some of the laundry for long trips. No complaints - good location (off highway), great amenities for people looking for quality on a budget and nice staff. Note: Make sure you look at the Google Maps view before driving there - the location is behind another hotel off the main road so it took us a few minutes of circling to locate the actual place.
"Decent place to stay"
05/28/14 mbaChapelHill Chapel Hill
The location is easy to get to and handy to fast food and the highway. It's quiet--not a lot of noise from the highway. The fridge was useful, and there is a free breakfast provided across the parking lot at the Best Western. This is not a fancy hotel, but it was clean and quiet. The downside was the bed was just OK and the bathtub drained slowly. Room cleaning is just every 3 days. For ambiance, pick a b&b or downtown hotel. For cost, pick this one.
"Candlewood Suites - Beware before you Book!"
05/12/14 Vagabond_Yogini Nashville, Tennessee
The Good: The hotel room was clean; access to a kitchenette is great, particularly for longer stays; the lending libraries and honor system for the snacks is a nice touch; location is good. The Bad: The stairwells were dirty; if you are sensitive to smoke, the smokers gather at the front lobby of the hotel, so it's not the most inviting welcome; Amenities state "spa" - there is no spa here. There is a "heated" pool that is supposed to be 80 degrees, but it was cold. The Ugly: We typically stay in 3 and 4 stars, but are on an extended road trip and didn't want to drop a grand on hotels, so we went with this 2 star hotel through "Express Deals" on PL. Having just encountered this in our stay in Hazleton, upon check-in, they attempted to provide us with a single queen bed. I hadn't slept the night before at our CW Suites room and my heart sunk when we booked this "Express Deal" through PL and this hotel's name popped up. The front desk personnel told us she could not change the room we booked. After calling PL, she phoned the front desk at CW Suites and was told we would be charged $65 additional dollars to "upgrade" to a room with two beds. So, we'd be paying double for our $90 hotel room once taxes were added for a two star? NO THANK YOU! PL basically relayed that we were out of luck if we didn't pay the additional $65 and the PL customer service rep said that the hotel was charging us too much for the room. The front desk then phoned her manager and was told she could change us to a king sized room. This hour long ordeal was frustrating and seemingly deceptive. I've never stayed in a hotel with only one bed that isn't a king. Most often, there are either two beds or a king. PL's express deals policy is that the accommodations will accommodate two people. The only circumstance most people wish to a share a bed with someone is when you are with your partner. However, what if you don't want to share a queen bed with your fellow traveler, as when you travel with a co-worker or any other person who isn't your partner? I'm not sure who to be more disappointed in - Candlewood Suites for offering what feels like deceptive practices of offering one queen bed to accommodate two people or Priceline for allowing them to do that? I've never run into that issue at any other hotel until these two Candlewood Suites locations.

I stayed at this property in late March for an extended business trip. I felt very comfortable there and the rooms are nice and clean. I would recommend this hotel for it's great accommodations as well as central location! I will be returning in June for another stay.

On my recent trip to Williamsport, I stayed in the Candlewood for a business trip. The hotel was very clean and Laurie at the front desk was very accommodating. The hotel is very close to several restaurants and within walking distance of the Friday's Restaurant. The price was just right and close enough to the downtown area. .

First I would like to state this is my second long term stay at this hotel....actually 3rd; and there are No Bugs here....if there were bugs they came with you. This place is awesome. Obviously the person making this complaint has a personal issue. I stayed here while you were here Amy G. and your husband was asked to leave because he was intoxicated and threatening staff and children of guests; as well as making racial slurs. Now for most of the human population they know using a debit card at a hotel is an issue. My suggestion....use a credit card....debit card procedures are explained at check in...maybe your husband didn't quite get that. Thirdly...Candlewood is considered a long term hotel...all long term hotels clean every few days or weekly. Please educate yourself and control the drinking before publicly bashing. These people are.great people and work hard to give us that stay here the feeling of home. They are superb in their abilities and go above and beyond. This is a great hotel where I and my children can feel safe and welcomed. It is clean and comfortable....traveling 49 weeks a year I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Williamsport or the surrounding area. .
